No deb not had an email yet,how you been?
melody/utopia, i didnt like the assessment fee,or the big yearly charge, you have to do their photoshoot as well.lots of agents let you use your own pics instead.

Onthebeach · 29/07/2008 19:41

Hi Totally,
How did it go at mot for you the other day?
It was nice to meet you, (very briefly!)
Was it for both your dd's?
I saw you mentioned about having no fees with mot, we had to pay £80 to the photographer, did you mean excluding that?

totallyfloaty35 · 29/07/2008 21:30

Hi ,yes i meant apart from that that fees ok compared to some, and im not keen on assessment fees at all.Although i must say that ES had some of the scariest fees ever and this was 10yrs ago,i remember after meeting her(she was terrifying)thinking wow i need to find £300 just to get my baby up and running, couldnt afford it so ended up with BG then.
MOT nice, only had pics of eldest done as she had drastic new hair style, they said i could use my own pics of middle dd as they were recent.
Was nice meeting you to though,if i had known you were so close would have come on train with you

Onthebeach · 29/07/2008 21:50

I know, I couldn't belive you were just before us, typical! Your dd's hair really suits her, it looked lovely.
we ended up travelling back right in he middle of rush hour, nightmare.
Looking forward to seeing the new pics, hopefully they will bring in lots of work!

dancerdeb · 30/07/2008 09:06

Totally, amazing weve been on the same journey as regards modelling agents. We were with ES thats both my older dd and ds, when ES knew I'd had a baby they took him on as well, it cost us well over £500 to join!! Remeber being at the assesment and was petrified never mind the kids.
When ds was 3 we joined AK and BK thats when AK werent sole rep
Melodydaisy, AK did well for my ds he was always out at castings/jobs though a bit too much pressure when I couldnt make a casting, we stayed there for a year!
Now Ive only little ds whom is in the business, he's now 6yrs old

wigglesmum · 30/07/2008 21:29

Well done to everyone with their castings and acceptances etc
Got a no from B&B yesterday- both them and KL were so quick with their no's this time that I am really beginning to think I am deluded
Sent MOT off along with B&B at the weekend so waiting on them but I think I can guess what that will be...
Is it true that if you have been to a UA consultation once before you can't apply again?

Onthebeach · 30/07/2008 21:43

wigglesmum, I haven't heard that, My ds went to a consultation, and got a no then I applied for him about a year later and got through to the consultation again (still got a no though!)

dancerdeb · 30/07/2008 21:51

wigglesmum, please, please dont despair your little ds is absolutley lovely
It can come down to many things, for example its not necassarily about their look, it can be........ too many in that age group,....... too many of the same look etc, you musnt take it personally as those letters are soooooooooooooo glacial, it just goes to show its not personel!!
I started with the smaller agencies and waited for the right pic and age of my ds until not too many in that age group and not too many of that look etc and it worked, I wasnt going to give up easily!! and fortuntely my tenacity worked!! please feel free to get in touch at [email protected]

wiggles, you can keep applying to u/a,there is no limit.Sometimes an agency will turn you down as they dont think your child will do the sort of work they get, some agencies are very high fashion, some do the more bread and butter work. Also just because an agency says no,doesnt mean your child will not work.
Onthebeach got a no from u/a and he has done really well with mot,2 of my dds got turned down by bb,we have also had no's from NC,ES and DD2 got a no from U/A But previously they had said yes !its their loss.

totallyfloaty35 · 30/07/2008 22:33

onthebeach, your little ones were adorable, think my dh was in a hurry to drag me away before i got broody again
we travelled back on the tailend of rush hour as stopped off at the park(and the pub)first

utopia2004 · 30/07/2008 23:27

I applied to most two weeks ago.

Im surprised B+B replied so quickly, i have just sent off to them again as we have heard nothing, explaining that 1 hour 20 mins wont be a problem for us.

Still haven't heard from mot or KL either, KL is supposed to reply quickly also which is weird- maybe that got lost as well?

Does anyone know if fresh agents in brighton get good work?

brooke77 · 31/07/2008 08:34

wigglesmum.. BB told me they dont take on 2 yr olds as there is so little work for that age group. NC told me the same and that all the toddlers on their books had been with them since babies. I think between 18mth-3 yrs especially is a tricky age to work with, so dont be put off.. your ds is very lovely and whilst some agencies may turn down at the moment, there are plenty more who will say yes ! good luck and to everyone for many castings and jobs during this holiday season !

Onthebeach · 31/07/2008 08:41

Hi, Wigglesmum I don't think you should give up, your ds has a lovely look, im sure he will do well soon.

Utopia, I had wondered about fresh agents before as brighton is nearer for us and have applied a while back ( a couple of times i think) but never heard a thing back, not even an e-mail to acknowledge my application.

totallyfloaty35 · 31/07/2008 13:09

my dds got accepted by fresh agents, but took 3 applications before they were answered. we didnt join in the end though. They do a bit,i know they do lots of promotion work for the adults and they did the ad with jamie oliver as it was filmed in Brighton. You must live near us then utopia

Rubystar77 · 31/07/2008 21:26

Hi..
wigglesmum- weren't u with scallywags? will u not stay with them...?
you ds is lovely, gorgeous eyes.
my girls are 1 1/2 & 2 1/2.. maybe it is a bad age.. maybe after 3 it will pick up!

kjmummy · 31/07/2008 23:11

Hi everyone

Question prob been asked heaps before but little advice please. Both my kids(2 & 6) been aceppted by Elisabeth Smith and Bizzykids. they have also been invited to photo cast call at Scallywags. I know all three of them charge but struggling to decide which one to go for..have sent to MOT and Norrie Carr but got a no. Havent heard from Bruce and Brown . Any advice would be a great help!!

wigglesmum · 01/08/2008 20:11

Aw bless- thank you guys for your positive comments about DS and the hints and tips.

Thanks for mentioning about BB not taking on 2 year olds (Brooke) because it rings a bell-think it was posted on her a year ago?!

Rubystar- you're right I was with SW but they took us off the site and didn't tell us so I assumed they didn't want to renew. Plus I wasn't that keen to re-sign as it meant another big fee and I found a lot of internal competition due to the large numbers of little boys. They seems to have less girls?

I'm still waiting to hear from MOT and I may reapply to UA when their books open again as we went to last year's November consultation (when DS didn't really cooperate!!), but if those are negatives I think I'll wait it out til he's 3 before applying again!
So similar to what you did Dancerdeb- hopefully there will be less competition by then?

ichef · 05/08/2008 18:52

Does anyone know if there's demand for newborn babies? I'm thinking of applying for ds2 is it too soon? he's only 4 weeks old.

julie4travel · 06/08/2008 02:40

ichef - i only had an email today from bk wanting a newborn baby yet max age was to be 2 weeks old for a client so their definitely is some jobs about.

lisad123 · 07/08/2008 00:12

just wondering, Im reading threads with shorten agency names like KL, MOT ect.
What would be the best agencies to approach about my 2 little sweeties?? DD1 was signed as a baby but itook on more work and so couldnt continue. We were with bizzy kids before TIA

julie4travel · 07/08/2008 08:10

lisad123 - the low or no fee agents are kids london (postale applications only) bruce and brown, urban angels, mot
others will prob charge you to join such as rascals, alphabet kids, bizzy kidz, scallywags, truly scrumptious, elliott brown, sandra reynolds, etc have a look on this website www.alba.info for a listed agencies

MelodyDaisy · 07/08/2008 13:52
