Hi all, did create the July thread, but lost it oops sorry, I hope we dont have two now!!

OP posts:
mum2twoboyz · 11/07/2008 08:06

found the new thread lol
melody - yes ur kids are lovely, but i think bb said no as they are quite a popular 'look' - my ds is very similar to urs and got a no - so i think its more looks wise.
have u applied to mot?? they are good too. rascals also arent bad, and norrie carr (they do accept if ur over an hr away) but they both do have fees, but again both get work!!
it is hard knowing who to go with - but good luck!

Luce2006 · 11/07/2008 15:14

melody: had a look at ur pics and ur dd is stunning!!ur ds' are lovely too.
Can't really add anything else to what the others has said.
Wait to get all the replies and then decide.
I had lots of headaches with my ds. He's mixed race but you can't really tell from the pics,he always looks lighter than he is and I often wondered if some agencies would have said yes if I'd told them that in the application. Some had kids with similar looks and other just didn't think he would be good 'model material'.
He's now been accepted by UA and I am very happy with that.
Have you tried DK?

MelodyDaisy · 11/07/2008 15:56

DK? I don't know who they are!!

Thanks for the comments, Luce2006 your little fella looks very cute, even when crying

Brooke77, I hope it all goes well, must be horrible just waiting for that first job whenever we join an agency!!

brooke77 · 11/07/2008 16:02

nah.. we're very relaxed about it ! ds has modelled in past so he knows the score !! my dd is with rascals and she's doing well too. it does often take a while to get going when u join a new agency and then there's really no guarantee of anything anyway !! have u had anymore thoughts on agencies.. ?

MelodyDaisy · 11/07/2008 16:10

AK have just said yes too, so that's

AK
KK
R
EB
ES

I must send the pics to KL!

MelodyDaisy · 11/07/2008 20:08

I just don't know which agency would be best for them.

DD may be better just going with an agency that does more photography but my son's may be better going to more of an acting agency, oh I don't know

Anyone any good info on Alphabet Kidz?

tinkerbellchelle · 11/07/2008 20:28

Im going to meet AK at the end of the month not much help sorry LOL! x

MelodyDaisy · 11/07/2008 21:14

Would that be 23rd? If it is then I may well be bumping into you

totallyfloaty35 · 11/07/2008 21:21

hi,my dd has assesment on 23rd,do you guys have to pay a fee and do audition pieces?
Ak get a lot of tv work,i have seen them at lots of castings and been on 3 jobs with Ak kids. They can be quite forceful, they like commitment and are not keen on you refusing castings.
If you think your DD has more of a high Fashion look, then put her with KL or BB or U/a.
My DDs are all with Different agents,so pm me if you want to talk about them

tinkerbellchelle · 11/07/2008 21:33

Yeah we are there for the 23rd what time are you there?
Yeah they said about the assesment fee - but the letter did say that under 6's dont have to do audition pieces. My 3 year old DS could probably do something from lazy town for them LOL!!!

tinkerbellchelle · 11/07/2008 21:34
  • or the audition pieces are optional for under 6's x
bogie · 11/07/2008 21:42

melody if you don't go sole rep then sign with EB the lady who run's it is soo lovley.
We were only with them for a week before deciding to go sole rep with b&b but I was sad to leave that one after meeting her.
They don't get loads of kids work but they get a bit.

bogie · 11/07/2008 21:43

www.dkmodels.net

Thats dk there midlands based ds was with them when he was a baby and he got a really good mamas and papas job with them.

MelodyDaisy · 11/07/2008 21:45

I know my DD would probably love to do more acting side of thing's no doubt, just thought that perhap's she's more editorial? (just listen to me)!!

tinkerbellchelle, my 3 year old DS would probably sing his bubble song, or grand old duke of york

totallyfloaty35-My DD did model as a baby and I never ONCE let them down and drove all over London, so the commitment side is good

MelodyDaisy · 11/07/2008 21:46

I have not fully decided on whether I should go to AK on 23rd, mainly because of the charge of a fee, which I would have to pay for 3 kids

Luce2006 · 12/07/2008 11:38

I thought that Ak charged only 40 a year,or am I mistaken??
is EB Elliot Brown? I applied few times but never got a reply back from them

3kids1cat · 12/07/2008 13:57

Luce, any sign of ds's page yet, I've still not heard anything, that's two months of the years contract gone already!

MelodyDaisy · 12/07/2008 15:13

Luce2006- yes EB is Elliott Brown and they don't charge to join, just take money from job, but not sure that they get much work

totallyfloaty35 · 12/07/2008 16:27

my dds new page is up,so you should see yours by monday.

Luce2006 · 12/07/2008 18:33

3K1C: I know what you mean...I didn't really like the fact that they put on the contract 1st of June as the start when I only got it on the 11th!!!!Why does it take them so long to go through admin?BK only took a week.
Melody: can U tell me the address you used to apply to EB? I am just curious because I never heard back from them and I applied three times

MelodyDaisy · 12/07/2008 23:53

Hi Luce2006, I just emailed them and pretty much got emailed back straight away!

[email protected]

They are lovely, lovely people but whether or not you'd get work is another story, but atleast you would not have lost money I suppose and they are not a sole agency.

MelodyDaisy · 12/07/2008 23:58

My DS has a job on Tuesday!! It's only for a corporate training video, but he's soo excited! I am just in the process now of getting him into a modelling agency but this job came through his theatre school.

I am gutted to know I cannot tag along, I won't to make sure he behave's and I am also curious about it all, but they only one chaperone Apparently when they are over the age of 5 they generally do this which I did not know until the other day He's getting picked up at 9am and 'delivered' home again at about 5pm with a cafeteria/canteen onsite and food supplies(he's going to love that)

Luce2006 · 13/07/2008 09:52

Thanks Melody.
I am not going to apply again,ds is now with UA and he's staying with them
I was just curious because they never got back to me and I applied three times to the agency!!!And I used the same email address. I just found it very weird that they never bother to say a Yes or a No.
Anyway, thanks and a very well done to your Ds!!!!!

MelodyDaisy · 13/07/2008 11:19

Looking at your little one, I was going to say he's much better off with a London agency anyway and what a good agency you have

I had to go out and spend a fair bit on 'plain' clothe's for DS yesterday, all part of the many exoense! lol

ichef · 14/07/2008 13:17

Hi everyone!! have been away as ds2 was born 10 days ago, first few weeks are always a mess are't they?
Quick question, anyone who joined UA received their password? Can't wait to see ds' photos.
No castings or anything for us at all, I really thought things would've started picking up by now.
