Bettys, Enid et al - don't forget she's back at eight.

Just back from hols. Sister forgot to tape Buffy or Angel. Thank god for my back-up: Bettys. So cannot add to this or even read down the thread until I have managed to get my hands on the tape.

Hey, am I utterly sad or what...finally saw this Monday's Angel from C5 last night, and found myself thinking 'hey, no, don't you know anything about labour, don't get her to lie down', and then 'hang on, her waters have only just broken, why's she yelling like that...' OK, so vampire births may be different, but am I totally pathetic or what?

(In my defence, I did give birth - heralded by completely unexpected waters breaking - less than six weeks ago, but still. I need a life.)

bea · 02/08/2003 14:26

oh dear mother inferior... getting too involved...

was surprised to see a resurgence on this thread as all is quiet on the bufy front at the moment...

been watching on and off on sky one though, the repeats... and if i'm not mistaked we might be getting close to my fave ep!!!... hush!... but bet it'll be on when i'm away on hols... sigh! never mind!

what about all you other slayerettes out there... how you coping!?

willow2 · 02/08/2003 19:52

I am in denial and am not coping.

sis · 02/08/2003 20:13

I,ve still got one episode to watch when the final series is shown on terrestial tv - so that is sort of keeping me going...

samACon · 03/08/2003 00:04

Just found this web site today, and have been flicking around looking at all the different discussions. Very surprised to find Buffy stuff, but definitely happy. It's nice to know I'm not the only household where the kids grow up knowing how to dust a Vamp correctly! Definitely missing both shows, hurrah for C5 and monday evenings. Coping at the moment by being fat and pregnant, should be enough of a distraction 'til new season of Angel (Angel and Spike together!!) Use maternity leave to rewatch old seasons (again)

nursie · 03/08/2003 11:43

Hurray too for Sky One Mix, which is currently showing old episodes of Buffy every afternoon at 1.30. It just happens to coincide with feeding time.
Ooh, I didn't know Spike was going to turn up in the next season of Angel. Brilliant!

samACon · 03/08/2003 12:06

Lots of Spike, he's signed up for 22 out of 24 episodes!!

Going back to Darla's authentic labour - if I knew I was going to give birth to greasyboy Connor I'd scream alot and stake myself too.

motherinferior · 03/08/2003 18:13

I am Terrestrially Restricted, which means C5 is the first time I see Angel. And despite being comprehensively spoiled, still haven't seen the last series of Buffy...

Trouble is the weather's so nice I feel guilty about using my maternity leave to watch telly. Have MASSES of Six Feet Under to catch up on too.

I really do need to get a life, don't I.

nerdgirl · 03/08/2003 22:04

Also trying to cope with withdrawals by watching re-runs and my DVD's. But it's not the same! Mope!

As for Spike. I heard a rumour that he comes back as a ghost!

motherinferior · 04/08/2003 09:56

Roz Kaveney has more on this on her Glamourous (sic) Rags website. and lots of fanfic too. Fanfic is one good way to cater for the addiction I find...

motherinferior · 07/10/2003 15:33

Please please PLEASE does anyone know, or have any theories, why Angel has vanished from Channel Five?

I am very very very sad about this

willow2 · 07/10/2003 17:14

no idea why it's gone - but does anyone know when the new series starts on Sky?

OP posts:
debster · 08/10/2003 08:55

Also does anyone know when the last series of Buffy is back on BBC2 for those of us poor lambs without satellite?

motherinferior · 08/10/2003 09:03

Debster, I think it's soon.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Think I'll ring Channel five press office today.

nursie · 08/10/2003 09:03

I think the new series of Angel starts on Sky in January.

samACon · 10/10/2003 00:07

Interview with SMG in Glamour magazine said that Buffy would be back 17 October - I think.

Emailed C5 tonight asking them what they have done with Angel, but it can take up to 72 hours to get a reply according to the site, so please post on here if you know!

Meanwhile I've been getting a DB fix by watching the new Dido video, although he does look a bit rough.

motherinferior · 10/10/2003 13:57

Oh, Sam, thank you. Have been somewhat distracted with kids to pursue C5, although obviously should put first things first.

Chinchilla · 10/10/2003 18:56

I got a response from C5. Basically saying that they would get around to showing the rest of the series eventually, but not sure when. Hmmm. At least my email will have to go into their reports.

samACon · 12/10/2003 00:29

Replied to me too. Well at least thats 2 people asking, the more people email the more likely it'll go back on? Start a drive for as many people as poss to contact them, whether they actually watch it or not!

Now city hospitals off, I'm getting tempted to go round my MILs whilst DS2 is at nursery to watch Buffy and Angel in the mornings( she's got sky, we haven't). My bellys now too big to do anything other than lounge on the sofa whilst I can - only 13 days to go!

motherinferior · 12/10/2003 19:52

Lounge, babe, lounge.

Bloody C5. Can't believe it. Can you bung me email address so I can add to the calls?

marthamoo · 12/10/2003 20:34

Ooooh a Buffy thread! I love Mumsnet! We have cable so thankfully am not dependent on the whims of Channel 5 but I soooo sympathise. I am also getting very twitchy with the withdrawal symptoms and am still in denial about having seen the last ever Buffy. We cope by listening to the CD of "Once More With Feeling" in the car...love it when ds1 sings "his penis caught diseases from a Shumash tribe..." at the top of his voice.

Chinchilla · 13/10/2003 19:02

MotherInferior - go to the Channel 5 website, and hit 'contact us'.

SamACon - A lot of people on the 'CityofAngel' website also complained to C5.

samACon · 14/10/2003 14:53

Had to get DH to tell me off big time. I swore I wouldn't go on to the american sites and read up on Angel (new season started beginning of october) and I did!! Its not the same watching it after you read it first. I've now got to resist the urge until January and get MIL to tape it again.

There is definite lounging occurring in this house, lounging and watching X Files (can't reach the buffy/angel boxsets damn)

bettys · 15/10/2003 10:06

I've been reading the Angel sites to get my Spike fix, & I have to say the new plotlines look very, very good.
So pissed off with C5 - I think C4 did the same with Angel, as well as shoving it into the scheduling dead zone. It's as if the terrestrial stations haven't a clue what to do with it.
Right, off to harangue C5 now!
