Bettys, Enid et al - don't forget she's back at eight.

I was most touched by the seen with the original fab four back in the school corridor. And it was good to see Buffy and Giles make it up.

Did the final episode feel really rushed to anyone else?

I can't believe that there is never going to be anymore!!! I'm afraid whilst I enjoy Angel, it just doesn't cut it.

Damn your film 'career' SMG...I say 'career' as picking between Scooby Doo the movie and Buffy and going with Scooby Doo is really the silliest thing ever.

Enid · 13/06/2003 09:41

But now she can get on with baking.

Also her smile at the end looked so genuine - just showing how pleased SMG was to get out of Buffy!

nerdgirl · 13/06/2003 09:46

I wouldn't say it felt rushed Pie. Just that I didn't want it to end. There were loads of nice character moments and bits that made me smile (with a tear in my eye). It is so pathetic that I will miss a television show this much!!

Enid · 13/06/2003 09:55

Hurrah, there's hope...read this in an interview with Xander:

What do you think of losing the eye?
I think it?s actually great. The idea would be like we would love to do a film and I think we?re going to, and I talked to Joss about it. Xander?s not going to have some mystical eye grow back. He?s going to have an eye patch.

You'll just have to get your fix from the DVDs Bron. Sigh! It's not the same. I think I'm starting to mope now!

SoupDragon · 13/06/2003 14:59

When will I be able to get my hands on a DVD of the penultimate episode though??

nerdgirl · 13/06/2003 15:25

I think the season 7 DVD is due out in January but you'll catch it on terrestrial before then, Soupy.

You're mission now is to catch up on Angel so that you can enjoy Spike's debut as a regular.

Does anyone remember his last outing to L.A.?

"(high voice) How can I thank you, you mysterious, black-clad hunk of a night thing?
(low voice) No need, little lady, your tears of gratitude are enough for me. You see, I was once a badass vampire, but love and a pesky curse defanged me. Now I?m just a big, fluffy puppy with bad teeth.
(high voice) But there must be someway I can show my appreciation.
(low voice) No. Helping those in need?s my job. And working up a load of sexual tension and prancing away like a magnificent poof is truly thanks enough!
(high voice) I understand. I have a nephew who is gay, so?
(low voice) Say no more. Evil?s still afoot! And I?m almost out of that Nancy-boy hair-gel that I like so much. Quickly, to the Angel-mobile, away!"

Hee hee!

pie · 13/06/2003 15:26

nerdgirl, that was one of the best scenes ever

SoupDragon · 13/06/2003 15:35

Only if my mariage survives that long, Nerdgirl...

bettys · 13/06/2003 22:18

I thought it was strange how the deaths of Anya and Amanda seemed almost inconsequential ( I'm not counting Spike as he'll be back) - will have to read the American summaries to see if it's been cut. Loved it when Spike said 'Oh bollocks..' as the amulet began to work, and how he accused Angel of wearing lifts. Will have to watch it again to get all of it as there was so much in it. Agree with others it was a nice touch to see the original foursome on their own in the school. The documentary after was a bit pants, though, nothing new in it.
Oh bum what am I going to do on Thursday nights now?

GeorginaA · 13/06/2003 22:24

Did I miss it or was the fact that Dawn attacked Xander to return to Sunnydale completely glossed over? I expected some sort of recriminations with Buffy over that.

bettys · 13/06/2003 22:29

I missed it too in that case...

nerdgirl · 14/06/2003 10:04

I don't know Georgina. I thought it was cute and very sisterly.

As Xander said - "This is a Summers' thing. It's all very violent."

SoupDragon · 14/06/2003 10:10

Sob!

sis · 14/06/2003 10:35

Oh for crying out loud - went away for a week - set the video and the stupid, b**y ntl box managed to loose the sound after ten minutes. We are going to try and tape it again tonight (have to go out again).

Please, please, if anyone has the final episode on video could you not tape over it and let me borrow it if ntl lets us down again tonight! I will happily pay postage and packaging.

SoupDragon · 14/06/2003 10:42

We've got the last episode on video (I've not checked but will make sure so I can retape it tonight if necessary.) I do NOT have last week's one though - still hoping someone's got it!!

tallulah · 14/06/2003 20:13

I thought it was a bit rushed too. What's the betting they cut some "vital' footage? After all the hype about Angel coming back he was gone again in a couple of minutes.. did like the jealous bit though.. like the Angel/Riley encounter from a previous season (mind completely blank, I normally know this stuff!)

It did feel "finished" though. (But why did Andrew survive?!)

pie · 14/06/2003 20:22

I guess Andrew has to tell the tale to the world, I loved the episode where he was making a 'documentary'.

I agree that Sky probably made cuts, especially when Buffy plit Caleb.

nerdgirl · 14/06/2003 20:38

Yeah, that was a good scene Tallulah. It was from season four - 'The Yoko factor'.

sis · 16/06/2003 13:37

Soupdragon, Thanks for such a quick reply - my computer was acting up this weekend so I'm sorry for not replying earlier. The good news is that it taped okay on saturday night but I really appreciate the offer.

sadly, the mute verion was taped over the previous weeks episode so I am afraid I can't return the favour.

Enid · 16/06/2003 13:55

Buffy:" What are you doing here? In five words or less."

Spike: "Out. For. A. Walk. [short pause] Bitch."

motherinferior · 16/06/2003 14:18

In Kate Atkinson's new book of short stories someone says (pretty well, haven't got text in front of me, supposed to be working when not trying to work out if upset stomach and backache mean I'm in early labour)'I thought I'd never have to say this, but Buffy isn't real'.

Not sure I agree, myself.

milkbar · 16/06/2003 14:37

what do you mean - isn't real?
I have PROOF it is real, because my DD, after Willow's spell, is now a slayer. Before she was just a nearly-two potential, but now after a weekend of extraordinary monkey business it is clear she has the strength and super girl power.

CAM · 16/06/2003 22:39

Motherinferior I am reading that very same book, good isn't it?
