Bettys, Enid et al - don't forget she's back at eight.

Being terrestrially bound for Buffy as well, can I just add that the end of last week's episode - 'I'd like to test that theory' - was probably the coolest thing I've EVER seen. All that and Spike with his shirt off!

nerdgirl · 05/06/2003 11:55

Don't get me started on Spike with his shirt off MI! I get goosebumps!!

You're going to love Season Seven!

BTW, I heard a cool rumour of, unfortunately, dubious origins that Spike will become human when he joins team Angel!!

pie · 05/06/2003 16:51

Ok as its the penultimate episode tonight, I have a problem. For the past 2 years my mum has had DD every Thursday night so I can enjoy the Scooby Gang antics alone. Now what night shall I claim as my weekly sabatical?

For all those Buffy lovers what else do you like to watch?

Enid · 05/06/2003 16:55

There was a big piece on Buffy at the back of the Guardian Guide on Saturday with a notice saying 'Buffy spoilers!' so I didnt read it - did anyone? All I want to know is - is there going to be another series??? Too terrified to look on the internet in case I find out what happens this season.

pie · 05/06/2003 16:58

Enid, do you watch on BBC or sky??

If you are the BBC then you have series 7 to come, if you are on Sky then next week is the last one ever. Sarah Michelle Gellar has quit.

willow2 · 05/06/2003 22:26

I can't even bear to think about it. But tonight was good wasn't it?

Really am going to go and finish packing now.

Women have enough to contend with, without worrying about mumsnet, offload on it, but don't tell people off!

Buffy & Angel were both good but they're so out of sync with each other it's really annoying. How come Angel turns up in Sunnydale when he's supposed to be down the sewers in LA? Poor Spike, too.

GeorginaA · 06/06/2003 07:48

Wow.

Next week last Buffy ever wwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiillllllllllll

motherinferior · 06/06/2003 13:25

I gather - from a friend of mine who writes various Bufferama - that several spinoffs are in the spin-offing: Tony Head here, on the Beeb, but also Dawn/Willow/just possibly Faith in the US. And Angel continues. So we should get a Buffix of some sort. I'm pinning my hopes on the way Frasier took over from Cheers, myself. In a sad sort of way, of course.

pie · 06/06/2003 14:46

I think that if there is a spin off it won't include Eliza Dushku as she has signed up a show called Tru Calling where 'A college graduate working in the city morgue is able to repeat the same day over again to prevent murders or other disasters.'

bea · 06/06/2003 20:03

i must say last nights eps were drop jaw worthy.... i can only say Poor Spike again... how will they resolve this spike/buffy thing in the next ep!!!! 50 mins max! and then they bring angel into the equation! sigh! ..... and then Angel... ??? how will spike fit into everything! and without buffy there... will spike spark in angel?????

p.s. hee hee hee... was catching up in here whilst dh was giving dd a bath and then got called to do the mum duties... (washing hair???!) and dh came in here and decided to post... along the lines of mischeviousness - buffy is rubbish and i don't know why my wife watches it!!!!!.... but then couldn'y post as he doesn;y know my login name and password!!! ha! ha!... good job he didn't though! could've been t aken the wrong way and upraor might have ensued!!!!
pps i don't know why he always complains about buff as he sits there doing work pretending not too notice... yet knows what's going on!!!!

pie · 06/06/2003 21:35

My DH moans about how rubbish Buffy is, but he'll sit at the computer one eye on the TV and ask me what happened if he leaves the room for a moment. Hence my conclusion that if you DH says he doesn't like Buffy, he is LYING!!!!

nerdgirl · 06/06/2003 21:43

My DH won't give Buffy a chance. I think it's the damn name. What was Joss thinking about? Loved the bit where 'the guardian' did a double take when our girl introduced herself!

And may I also add 'Poor Spike!!' What was that girl thinking about!!?! He pours his heart out to her and she seems to respond and the next thing you know she has her tongue down Angel's throat!!

pie · 06/06/2003 21:46

I've often wondered why Joss choose the name Buffy, but I guess you have to remember the core idea was that sometimes the blonde fights back, unlike most horror/action TV programmes of films. And I thought that Buffy might me part of that image, she's just not what you expect.

I can't believe that next week after the last episode they are showing a documentary, not Angel. Does anyone know how many episodes are left? If there are 2 are they going to show them back to back?

pie · 06/06/2003 21:48

Oh yeah, and although I have always read the spoilers last night was so good and I got so caught up that when Angel came on the screen I was all 'Oh my god it's Angel'.

Actually maybe the pregnancy hormones have caused memory loss.

nerdgirl · 07/06/2003 08:06

I think 'Buffy' is a great name for the character but it puts a lot of people off as the name of the show. But I shouldn't slag off Joss Whedon. He is GOD!

I think he wrote and directed the last episode (as usual). I can't wait!

There are two more episodes to go on Angel, which is why last Thursday our hero managed to be in both a mysterious poisonous world and Sunnydale at the same time! Sometimes, I want to strangle SKY! Next week, they're showing the last Buffy and a documentary and the week after they're showing another Buffy documentary and the second last Angel.

GeorginaA · 07/06/2003 10:38

It's not just Sky nerdgirl - they weren't designed to synch very well anyway as remember in the States they are on different networks. (I think Buffy is one episode ahead of Angel due to how Sky are broadcasting, but if you think back to Willow going to help Angel that was a delayed out of synch on Buffy. Probably something to do with the US broadcasting schedules).

nerdgirl · 07/06/2003 23:23

You're right about the Willow goes to LA bit, Georgina but Angel finished in the States two weeks before Buffy did so that one would have worked.

Even though they're on different networks, the two shows are still made by the same company and Joss Whedon sets out the major plot points for both, doesn't he? I don't understand how it could be so out of sync.

GeorginaA · 08/06/2003 10:02

Because there were gaps in the airtime of Buffy due to various TV shedules where there weren't the same gaps in the airing of Angel.

On the whole, I'm rather glad we get our weekly dose and Sky doesn't attempt to match the same airtime gaps.

(Incidentally that's why the gap between the eps we're seeing and the eps the US see reduces during the season).

GeorginaA · 08/06/2003 10:03

Um... i.e. they wouldn't have been out of synch in the States, but harder to reproduce here unless you want gaps in airtime at odd times here too.

nerdgirl · 08/06/2003 12:16

Thanks Georgina that was really bugging me and I agree I'd rather get my fix as quickly as possible too!

So has anyone any plans for an End of Buffy party? I'm thinking of organisisng one with a few friends. I can't stand the thought of it all ending and my dh just shrugging his shoulders.
