That's good news Berrie . Now why didn't they diagnose that the first time
Will it just break down itself or do you need any treatment?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/09/2008 20:41

What a huge relief Berrie. Will it get better soon?

LyraSilvertongue · 17/09/2008 21:35

Great news Berrie

LyraSilvertongue · 17/09/2008 23:23

I've just been looking through my Facebook pics and there are two pics of DP (as well as lots of pics of DSs) in there, in the album entitled The Boys, if anyone's interested.

Berrie · 18/09/2008 07:12

Yes the hardness should just go on its own though the purple /red bruising might remain.

I can't believe how different this woman was. She let me tell my story from the beginning and spent time explaining everything. The other man couln't get rid of me soon enough.

oggsfrog · 18/09/2008 09:03

It makes so much difference if you feel that they are actually seeing you as a human and not just a timeslot...

Lyra I saw the pics of DP - in the one with the hat he reminds me of Nathan Petrelli

Might not be on very much now until festival madness is over..

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/09/2008 09:09

I'm beginning to get really really worried about the whole financial markets meltdown. All I'm getting from DH is doom and gloom (which it is), and this is all exacerbating various issues with his business, since guess where his clients come from? This is not good. I'm beginning to look around for another job on the basis that if he's not going to be able to support me and DS financially, I'm just going to have to earn it myself. And that means leaving Cornwall, because earning anything close to £40k is just a pipe dream.
Any ideas anyone?

oggsfrog · 18/09/2008 09:20

Sorry Zeb. No ideas here. It's over 10 years since I had a 'proper' job.

We are really feeling the pinch as we live so close to the line anyway. I clock up almost 50 miles a day just taking dd to school; if I have to go shopping or to the Dr's then it's closer to 100 miles a day....
The car is knackered - no exhaust and I can't use 1st and 5th gears. We need a 'new' one but it's an arse as you have to travel so far to look at them and they are often a pile of crap when you get there.

oggsfrog · 18/09/2008 09:26

Sorry Zeb. I just did what I hate when anybody else does it, paying lip service to your problems and launching into my own

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/09/2008 09:40

No, really don't worry. I agree, that we all have problems, and at least right now I have only v basic expenses as I walk to work. I only get the car if I create a massive fuss or book it 3 months in advance or the au pair goes into one.

However, DS has just been booted out of nursery until DH pays the bill, which is kind of a big issue.

oggsfrog · 18/09/2008 09:55

Poor DS.

Berrie · 18/09/2008 12:26

Oh dear Zeb. That sounds all very stressful. I suddenly feel very silly for worrying about the amount I just managed to spend in Asda I just can't believe how much it all costs. Where do you see yourself living Zeb? Could you not live in the Kensington Flat?

Oggs Dd will have to gallop on a horse to school and tie it to a tree.

Lyra, how are you going to manage in these crunched times what with having TWO whole houses?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/09/2008 13:45

I was planning on living rent-free in Lyra's place.

The Kensington flat's gone - he's moving out of it over the weekend as the business can't justify the cost.

The rest is up in the air, but basically anywhere up the M5/M4 from Exeter is good.

God, what a mess. And I know I'm just another moaning middle class type, when there are people surviving on far less than I have.

Berrie · 18/09/2008 14:27

Everyone can go down that route Zeb. There'll always be someone living on a tip in India who is worse off...don't know who the person on the tip thinks of though...

Will you look for work in Exeter then? Is the aupair there for dh's weekends with ds or does she live with you?

LyraSilvertongue · 18/09/2008 18:06

Berrie, the two houses thing will be fine as long as we get a tenant to pay one of the mortgages. if not, we're screwed. We've got three viewings booked over the weekend so fingers crossed...
And you'll have to get yourself down to Sainsbury's. They've got so many half price offers I found myself buying twice as much as I intended.
Zeb, get yourself back to London. Earning £40k will be no problem here. And then you could rent my house...
Oh, some other good news - we've been given a freebie trip to Lapland for the whole family in December. I've just spoken to the PR woman dealing with it and she's going to get back to me to confirm dates. The boys will be so excited when I tell them they're going to meet the 'real' Father Christmas and have a ride in a sleigh pulled by real reindeer.

Berrie · 18/09/2008 19:14

Oh that will be lovely Lyra Can we come too?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/09/2008 19:32

Lyra Get you! Your kids will love it!!!!
I'm more than a bit uncertain about moving back to London because of DS and the cost of living etc. That and DH would probably not be happy to put it mildly. However, we'll see.

A totally rubbish day at work, but after a meeting with my boss, I feel a bit better, although we're heading towards a disciplinary on one of the staff (don't ask!). Still, on the upside, or possibly downside depending on your point of view, I finally payed a visit to the Seafood Restaurant across the road from my flat. 0h dear! I now have a local and a New Best Friend. Oops, hic. What time is it?!!!! But I haven't done this in ages, and my NBF is lovely. Definitely a 'one of us' kinda gal.

oggsfrog · 22/09/2008 09:34

Where are you all???

Berrie · 22/09/2008 09:38

Oggs, you keep us all going! Without you we are nothing!

How did it go?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 22/09/2008 10:46

I'm hard at work getting my head around Monday morning stuff. Oh, and hoping that this week is less rubbish than last!

I also hope you started watching Strictly on Saturday, none of that X Factor dross here thank you.

I also watched Hugh's latest with Ewan - don't bother buying it, just rent it, it's really not that good

Berrie · 22/09/2008 11:22

I got a bit bored of strictly on Saturday and turned it off

Did anyone watch Merlin? He's a pretty boy.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 22/09/2008 11:32

Oh I think it'll improve once they start whittling down, but Craig wotsisface was just being nasty for the sake of it. I did like Tom-from-Holby though

As for Merlin. I think Arthur was prettier, in a Rupert P-J kind of way.

Right, that's my Saturday nights sorted up to Christmas then!

oggsfrog · 22/09/2008 12:09

Glad it's all over.
I ate far too many chick pea curries with chips, and I'm refusing to even think about how much I drank over the weekend . I'm knackered and my head hurts.

What's Merlin? A new series?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 22/09/2008 13:39

I spent all of Saturday in bed. Blissful.
Merlin. It fills the Saturday night Dr Who/Robin Hood timeslot. It's got 2 young hotties as the main characters (Arthur & Merlin), someone for the mums (Anthony Head from the coffee advert), some babes for the dads and lots of sword fighting for the boys.
I think that's all you really need to know.

Berrie · 22/09/2008 14:51

Nah, Arthur was too obvious. I prefer my men dark. I especially liked the flashy eye thing.

I agree about the Craig thing. They need to be careful not to treat their audience like idiots. We are not stupid.
