Do you know if there poo could be harmful to the rabbit at all?

OP posts:
Berrie · 16/05/2008 13:00

Our run is 2m by 4m. It's on the slabs to stop the fox digging its way in. It's covered so they don't get any contact with wild birds when they are in there. I don't think there is much of a risk.
I don't think the fox will bother getting over a 9 foot wall but it might get in via a gate?

Berrie · 16/05/2008 13:01

Don't know...I use the Practical Poultry forum for advice...will get you some links..

Berrie · 16/05/2008 13:02

Practical Poultry

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 13:03

gates are big too. I'm fairly ok about the security aspect, rabbit has lasted this long anyway and I have been known, on occasion to forget to put him away at night if I've been out and also, one night, staggered up the garden very drunk at around 3am to put him away and actually locked him out instead lol. His own fault for pretending to be a rock

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 13:04

coo they're expensive!!

OP posts:
Berrie · 16/05/2008 13:07

Yes you can get much cheaper wooden ones.

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 13:08

I was just thinking of getting them a little house and letting them roam about as long as they dont affect the rabbit they can stay out all day with him.

OP posts:
Berrie · 16/05/2008 13:10

That sounds fine...ebay has lots of little houses.

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 13:19

Perhaps I better concentrate on all the shop stuff first then get on to chickens after. I have just spent a further 1.5k on products, uniforms and training. Its a dear do for sure

You'll havee to sell one of the hydraulic stools to raise funds Binkle.

I'm glad your mum will be able to go home soon. Hope she's feeing more comfortable. Sorry if this is in bad taste but your post made me laugh...the bit when your mum "got up in the night to go to the toilet and passed an occupied body bag in the ward corridor".
I'm not passing anything at the moment. Bloody diet

LyraSilvertongue · 16/05/2008 14:19

So I'll be the only one without chickens?
I'll get me coat too.

oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 14:22

I have a spare cockerel. I can post him to you if you'd like Lyra .

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 16:49

Lol Oggs, sometimes you've got to laugh though havent you!! Just been to see mum, much more sprightly so should be discharged after weekend.

I'm just worried about getting raggy looking ones, I want to help but I'm useless at dealing with stuff like that.

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 16:50

I left a message for you on the lowcarb thread Oggs

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 19:01

Here I am. If it's so good why are you getting rid Binkle?

oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 19:04

Glad your Mum is feeling more herself again.

Berrie · 16/05/2008 19:57

Get retty ones then

Berrie · 16/05/2008 19:58

pretty

oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 20:04

Glad to see you back to your real name Berrie

oggsfrog · 17/05/2008 07:40

So. What's everyone doing today?

Are you working Lyra?
Zeb, you and cows really don't get on do you?
Berrie, is it the allotment for you? If not, what?
Binkle, get your bum over here and discuss cartons and cookbooks.

Pretty miserable here. Overcast and cold.

Berrie · 17/05/2008 07:54

Morning, yes grotty day here too.

Really should go to the allotment. I have seeds to plant and the grass has grown really really long. Dh is desperate to mow down the bluebells but I won't let him. How long would you let them set seed?

oggsfrog · 17/05/2008 08:09

Ooh, I don't know. Do you collect the heads for the seed, or do they just self-seed. in which case you'd have to leave them a lot longer.
I love bluebells, but we don't have any at all on our land .
It's bloody cold. I'm going to have to light the fires today.
