Over here! (Berrie waves)

Did you have a nice lunch Lyra?
I wonder if my machine does pizza dough?

OP posts:
MrsSeanSlater · 05/03/2008 18:25

Yes, very nice, the liked the pizza. My machine has a general dough only setting that doesn't include baking and I used that. I used a Delia Smith recipe.

MrsSeanSlater · 05/03/2008 18:26

I can only see the second one Oggs.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/03/2008 19:00

I'm back!

oggsfrog · 05/03/2008 19:01

Buggrit. They weren't that steamy honest .
In fact most of them were head only shots. It must be the site I got them all from (The Wet Men) that set off the alarms .

LyraSilvertongue · 05/03/2008 19:06

Head and wet t-shirt torso shots

Berrie · 05/03/2008 19:40

You really are filthy Oggs. Fancy knowing about a site called that!
Berrie scuttles off to peer at her bread maker...

Morning
I'm off to look at some hens this morning and then I'll probably go to Tesco and spend a ridiculous amount of money.
I didn't get paid this month either...

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 07:45

Another day at work.
I really will never get used to leaving the house at 6am. I find I'm physically unable to go to bed early so I'm well and truly cream crackered now.
The boys are going to school in their World Book Day costumes today and I'll miss it This is what I hate about working.
DS1 is going to be Harry Potter and DS2 Dr Foster who went to Gloucester (mainly because we have a nice doctor's outfit).
DP is in charge of getting them ready . I laid everything out last night but he'll probably still get it wrong.

Berrie · 06/03/2008 08:24

Ah cute...is it better than Saturdays though?
Which Delia book was your pizza recipe in?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 06/03/2008 08:46

They'll probably end up as Dr Foster with a lightning scar and wand, and Harry Potter with a stethoscope and medical bag .
So is it World Book day today? I've not heard anything.
Ooh, exciting Berrie. What type are you looking at? I did wonder if any of those farms you visited (the ones in the pictures) had chicks/hens for sale?
Dd was up this morning at 6:45, breakfasted and dressed by 7:00, and spent the next hour and a half reading
Today I will be accompanying dh as he long-reins a pony, cleaning up, doing PTA minutes/constitutions and researching the ins and outs of setting up a Youth Club. Oh Joy!

Berrie · 06/03/2008 09:00

Oh a youth club...exciting!
I went back to a farm yesterday to talk to the people there. They gave me the number of the man they get their chicks from so I'll ring him to see if he has any POL. They are Black Rock I think, a hybrid. I want a couple of hybrids and some pretty ones. I really want buff orpingtons but they are really expensive. I like light sussex too. We could start with some hybrids for eggs and add the pretty ones in later I suppose. My imagination is running wild! I've already mentally turned the end of the garden in to a set of huge runs and a large shed for hatching and rearing chicks! Don't tell DH!

Is dd 7? It's great that she is a reader. I don't think that you can learn to write well unless you are.

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 06/03/2008 09:09

She's just 8 Berrie, and takes after me - she always has her nose in a book. She'll spend hours at a go reading, and like today, sometimes gets up early just to read .
She goes through books like I don't know what. We are members of the 3 nearest libraries and she gets 7 books out from each at a time, plus all the charity shop books we get, plus the ones I kept from when I was a child.

We have 1 Buff Orpington (Egg), and tbh I'm not that impressed. She's nowhere near as hardy as my others and is prone to feather loss and leg scale mites. We also have a maran (Primrose - an excellent broody but sadly now old and going lame),two pure light sussex (Small Feet and Clever Chicken and four others who are a mix of the three.
The Light Sussex are hardy and inquisitive.

Berrie · 06/03/2008 09:17

I suppose without a tv one would (Berrie considers binning the tv)

The breeder I'm seeing this morning can get me Road Island Reds x Light Sussex but they are a bit boring for me Like the ones I had as a child, just brown.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 09:37

You two are speaking a foreign language
The pizza recipe is in the first How to Cook book.

LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 09:38

And yes, Thursday are better than Saturdays. They're busier (more breaking news and more people) and I get to have proper weekends again, when DP isn't away that is.

LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 10:09

Costumes went fine according to DP, except DS1 insisted on drawing on a moustace as well as a lightning scar with my red lip pencil. Wish I could have seen them

Berrie · 06/03/2008 12:00

Tee hee a red moustache!

My Swordfish dvd came today 95p on Amazon. I can't say that it looks like my kind of thing at all but I'll give it a go

The breeder says that the fox will eat through my chicken wire She says I need weldmesh. DH is not going to be pleased and it's too expensive.

I want pretty hens...{berrie stamps foot}

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 12:28

Oh dear, that's bad news. Will it be a lot of work? Could you get a second opinion on the fox issue? Better not to take any risks I guess.

Zebedeedoodah · 06/03/2008 13:11

Go for the pretty hens Berrie. I didn't know foxes ate chickenwire though, and weld mesh is stonkingly expensive. What about an electric fencer instead?
I tried to look at the piccies last night, but just as I was logging on to the wet men website, DH walked in Oh well, I'll try again tonight.
I've just booked me and DS tickets for the Ceebeebies show when it comes to Cornwall in the summer. Am I insane?

oggsfrog · 06/03/2008 13:29

Certifiable Zeb and that's before we come to the issue of going to see cbeebies live shows...

LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 13:36

Not mad at all. I'd like to take DS2. Is it a tour? Where did you get tickets?
They'll be too old for that stuff soon enough.

Zebedeedoodah · 06/03/2008 13:49

It's at the Hall for Cornwall, so I guess they're doing a tour. It could be worse, over easter they're showing LazyTown Live! Now I do draw a line somewhere.

LyraSilvertongue · 06/03/2008 14:10

Hmmm. Both boys would enjoy Lazy Town Live.
