Over here! (Berrie waves)

oggsfrog · 22/02/2008 08:43

Enjoy your course. Bye

Zebedeedoodah · 22/02/2008 10:02

Clean AND warm Oggs? Sheer luxury. But from the picture, I expect you managed to keep toasty in other ways.
And all your virtuous-ness (is that a word ?) is inspiring. I shall bear it in mind when I meet my personal trainer today for the first time.

oggsfrog · 22/02/2008 20:20

How did you get on with your trainer Zeb? Any good tips?
How was your course Berrie?
Still bogged down with things to do Lyra?
Gammon, cauli, green and runner beans. Water. Now Hugh Jackman in Van Helsing and a bottle of wine

Berrie · 23/02/2008 09:06

GROOOOOAAAAAANNNN!

Went out to see a Smiths tribute band last night. It was the first time we have gone out drinking in town since we had children and since we moved out of town actually which is longer still. It was greeaaat but I didn't get time to eat before we went out and I drank far to much. What I really don't need is 3 people coming round to give quotes for a conservatory

Zebedeedoodah · 23/02/2008 10:05

Poor Berrie. I hope it was worth it?!
Oggs - the trainer was fine - just our kind of woman I think. It was literally a meet & greet, she comes back the week after next to do the 'fat tests', then devises the exercise plan which she comes back with a bit later to go through. She did seem overly excited by the rowing machine
She did say, though, that 'diet is a dirty word' and that the biggest problem people normally have is an addiction to starchy carbs. Now ain't that the truth

Finally watched brokeback mountain last night...

oggsfrog · 23/02/2008 10:31

What did you think Zeb? I bought it months ago and have been saving it , quite what for I don't know.

What were you drinking last night Berrie? I drank almost a bottleand a half of wine . That's it until next weekend though.

Berrie · 23/02/2008 11:45

Well...I had 2 glasses of white wine followed by a pint of stella followed by 2 double brandy with ice.

You are doing really well Oggs. I've had musli and a modest portion of beans on toast. It will be interesting to compare us all. You with your zero carbs, me with just anything but not much of it and Zeb with her exersise. What would the criteria for success be. Weight lost, who gives up first?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 23/02/2008 12:05

I so hope I manage to stick with it this time. I need to lose 2 stone at the very least , but I'm feeling positive and will stop drinking wine and will switch to vodka and diet tonic next weekend. Wine is not good. Sugar.

ham and scrambled eggs, chai w/soya and splenda, coffee w/ cream and splenda, need to drink more water.

oggsfrog · 23/02/2008 12:09

Picked up some wool jumpers and a wool blanket yesterday from charity shops and am going to experiment with felting them using the washing machine.
Then on to The Pit of Doom (aka dd's bedroom) to have a huge clearout. I dimly remember seeing a carpet once beneath all the detritus..... need to make sure I wasn't dreaming

Zebedeedoodah · 23/02/2008 14:50

Oggs, the best solution may just be a flame thrower. Destroying dd's entire posessions would be a life lesson she wouldn't forget.

Brokeback was interesting.... very, very slow paced, so you need to be in the right mood. Overall, I enjoyed it, sort of, but it's more thought provoking and sad rather than anything else. But because of all the hype, I'd have to say it was a bit over-rated.

I'm not even going to discuss what I've been eating

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 14:56

This thread keeps dropping off threads I'm on because I've been posting so little
My head's been all over the place because I was pg and now I'm not .
I started getting pg symptoms (big boobs, nausea etc) about a week ago, but was testing negative. But I knew I was pg and finally got a positive on Thursday. Then the spotting started and on Friday proper bleeding and major cramping so I'm guessing that's it, all over.
I'd had a weeek of thinking we were going to have baby number 3 and getting quite excited about the idea. Even DP, who was adamant that he did not want another one was secretly quite pleased. Now we're very disappointed.
I don't think we'll be trying again (we weren't trying this time, it was an accident) but it would be nice to keep the option open.

Berrie · 23/02/2008 15:01

Oh Lyra so sorry Are you in pain still?
How does DP feel now?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 15:06

We're both disappointed but relieved as well because all our plans now won't have to change. Number 3 wasn't part of The Master Plan but I got quite excited about the idea.
The pain was pretty bad at first (I had to take max doses of paracetamol and ibuprofen together) but it's ok now. I'm at work on a double shift

oggsfrog · 23/02/2008 16:12

Oh sweetheart I'm sorry

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 16:15

Thanks Oggs and Berrie.

oggsfrog · 23/02/2008 16:20

Glad you're back with us .

Berrie · 23/02/2008 18:23

Don't want this to sound crass given Poor old Lyra's woe's but good bit off Lee gossip. I received a text from MFL's F today saying Lee had rung him and he'd told him all about our trip I'll speak to him sometime and get the details!

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 18:24

OMG! Maybe he'll invite us back to meet him properly.
Don't worry about chatting normally, I don't want to bring everyone down. And I'm fine, really.

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 18:25

When I was (briefly) pg, DP said it would mean we couldn't go to the Caribbean next year like we'd planned because he's funny about taking babies abroad except in Europe. So at least we'll be able to go now.

Berrie · 23/02/2008 18:59

Ooo the caribbean will be lovely

OP posts:
Berrie · 23/02/2008 18:59

Not to mention drinking as much wine as you want after all!

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 19:02

True. We were suopposed to be going to the Caribbean this year but we've ended up booking Spain instead
I'll believe it when (if) it happens.

Berrie · 23/02/2008 19:05

Wonder if Lee has a computer and boring mornings when he decides out of interest to have a look for our thread...

(Berrie sucks in tummy...as far as it will go which isn't far enough...lifts chin slightly to avoid bulges, flutters eyelashes ..."Oh...Lee hello!"

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 19:20

Did your friend tell him we were mumsnetters?
The things we've said about him!
Hope he comes on to say hello. But he'd never find us. Bolbz doesn't exactly give away our location does it

oggsfrog · 23/02/2008 20:09

Can't see him joining mn Lyra
Ooh, I'm all excited now

Berrie, next time you meet yflf can't you borrow his mobile and sneek a peek at Lee's number?

What do you mean you'll 'speak to him sometime' ...... get on the bloody phone woman .

Aargh... aargh.... horrendous thought....yflf hasn't got a copy of our group photo has he Berrie, that he might show to His Horniness? .
We'll have to arrange another theatre trip when we are all svelte so we can have another photo taken (not that you're not svelte now Lyra )(nor that any of yu others looked awful...erm, erm.... )

Ooh. Ooh.

Gawd I've got virtual cheek ache from all this grinning . I think I've regressed to being a teenager with a crush again
