Over here! (Berrie waves)

What is a swing? I've wondered after seeing people listed in the cast as 'swing'.

Watched the Lee doc last night. Aw... sweet.... I think he came across as a lovely, genuine person . Lucky DVO.

Berrie · 11/02/2008 12:38

A swing is one down from an understudy. They learn every part and are ready to swing into action if an understudy is away. They have to be at the theatre every show but might not perform. It is an incerdibly hard job as they have to be up to speed on loads of roles whereas the understudy only has to know his ensemble role and the part he/she understudies.

Right, been to Parish office, been to Doctor's...sorry this is dull I know.

As opposed to swing as a dance you do with a partner

Busy busy busy again today. The weather's been so nice it feels like a crime to stay in MNing so we've been out and about.
Just got back from parents evening at the school. Both boys doing well, teachers really happy with their progress.
More viewings on the house but no-one wants to buy it yet.
DP's still working so I'm treating myself to a glass of sparkling rose after three days of abstention.

oggsfrog · 11/02/2008 21:23

No drinking for me tonight. I've made myself feel sick by eating 2 clementines and a bar of caramel whilst having a very hot bath. Bleurgh!
Think I won't be long out of bed.

oggsfrog · 11/02/2008 21:25

Caramac, not Caramel. Still bleurgh though.

LyraSilvertongue · 11/02/2008 21:26

I used to love caramac, but they changed it and it's not so good anymore.

oggsfrog · 11/02/2008 21:35

No. I did think as I was eating it that it wasn't as I remembered it. Didn't stop me from finishing the bar though .

LyraSilvertongue · 11/02/2008 21:41

That reminds me, I've got a couple of squares of Fruit and Nut in the fridge . I've had no dinner so that will have to do
Do you find Curly Wurlys aren't the same either?

oggsfrog · 12/02/2008 08:50

Morning
Haven't tried a Curly Wurly for eons, but I now feel duty bound to seek one out and subject it to a taste test - purely for research purposes you understand
Berrie I will be expecting a recipe for raspberry gin/vodka/vinegar later in the year.

Berrie · 12/02/2008 09:01

Morning. Tee hee we are going to have loads and dh hates them!

Hey Lyra, I spent lots of time out in the sunshine yesterday too !

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 12/02/2008 09:20

So what's everyone doing today?

I'm on a mission to clear dd'd bedroom so that I can check if there is in fact a floor under all the dirty clothes/toys/rubbish/possibly dead animals brought in by the cats and as yet undiscovered/general junk. Oh joy .

Got the Dr's around lunchtime so will have to drag dd along with me, then go on to do some shopping. Oh double joy .

Berrie · 12/02/2008 10:01

Well, we are just about tidied up. We'll head out for a walk in the sunshine in a bit searching for icy puddles, ds's new favourite thing. I've got a new red coat reserved in town so I need to go and get it today or tomorrow I also want to mosey on up to the allotment to see if I can find the parish outdorrsy man and sweet talk him into rotovating a patch for me...not much chance of being there at the same time though but it's worth a go.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/02/2008 13:16

I went back to bed after seeing DSs off to school (DP takes them).
DS2 and I have just had lunch and we're about to go to his gymnastics class in a nearby town, then we have to dash back, pick up DS1 from school and go to his karate class in another nearby town. Tuesdays are too full on for my liking.
Oh and somewhere in between I have to put dinner in my new slow cooker. Lamb stew (yum).

Berrie · 12/02/2008 15:57

Has everybody had a nice day?
I have my replacement red coat and I did see the Parish council man but didn't get to speak to him.
Hope your stew is nice Lyra (jealous emoticon)
Oggs hope DD's room is tidy and there were not too may nasty surprises.

Well, I wasn't going to tell you all this but I printed out a sheet with a graph showing my weight now and the sixteen weeks until June and just before our holiday. I can lose 2 stone at 2lb a week...there is a picture of a thin lady in a floaty dress on the beach next to it and it is pinned over the fridge. I have been good all day and feeling very positive but as evening approaches...it begins to make me feel unhappy...how long do you give me before my chart goes in the bin...

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 12/02/2008 18:01

Don't be jealous. I didn't find time among all the running around to read the instructions, prepare the veg and switch it on. We're having poached salmon, (shop bought) mash and veg instead because it's quick.

Berrie · 12/02/2008 18:33

Still sounds nice
Shop bought as opposed to caught in your local stream?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 12/02/2008 18:51

No, shop-bought ready made mash, as opposed to the kind you make yourself with potatoes.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/02/2008 18:52

I wouldn't usually use it but I'm always short of cooking time after karate.

Berrie · 12/02/2008 18:52

Ah I see

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 12/02/2008 19:13

Berrie, I'll give you moral support - I too need to lose about 2 stone. One of the only times I succeeded in losing weight was when I used to go for a weigh in every Monday lunchtime with some girls from work. We each used to bring £1 and whoever had lost the most won the money. It really worked for me. I averaged about 2lb a week.
How about we meet every week at a certain time on MSN (it doesn't have to be a Monday) and divulge the extent of our success? It may give us the incentive we need.

Tsk, tsk Lyra shop bought mash?

Off now to listen to R4's Front Row - they've got an interview with John Barrowman about being Capt Jack...

LyraSilvertongue · 12/02/2008 19:19

I know Oggs. And it wasn't even very nice.

oggsfrog · 12/02/2008 19:27

Not very nice? You do suprise me

Didn't manage to track down a Curly Wurly, so am making do with a Crunchie and a Boost tonight
