I love you guys

Did any one of us NOT have a drink last night? I bet even Lyra caved at some point.... I planned to be good and didn't buy the white wine from the spar shop, but succumbed to a couple of cans of cider in the fridge left over from Christmas. I hate cider.

But Jakey was worth the watch, particularly in the firelight, even if it was one of the more daft movies I've ever seen. Just one question. Why were they burning books instead of the stacks of WOODEN furniture and shelving? Hmmm, an indictment of modern America and cultural/intellectual genocide perhaps? Or is that a little too deep for The Day After Tomorrow?

Tonight...the Bourne Ultimatum....

Now I'm off to check if I won £95m on the Eurolottery. If you never hear from me again......

Zebedeedoodah · 09/02/2008 09:10

Nope. Still poor.

Berrie · 09/02/2008 10:28

Oh didn't make it through the Bourne Ultimatum...maybe this is why I don't know any of these men, I don't watch films...

Oh dear lord...... I do know why I was giving up alcohol.
I daren't even look to see how little is left in the bottle
Should know by now that when I start thinking 'oh, I'll have a few more, I don't even feel a bit drunk' I should get dh to hide the bottle .
Also, I've realised that the reason I don't drink during the week is because I actually drink so much on the one or two nights I do drink, that I can't even begin to think about alcohol until about a week later

Berrie · 09/02/2008 12:44

Poor Oggs...it's always the way (Berrie nods wisely - she is an old hand at giving up alcohol)

I did not succumb. Not a drop passed my lips. i have, however, already had a pint of cider sitting outside a pub in Richmond looking at the stunning view from Richmond Hill and trying to work out which one was Mick Jagger's house.
DP is ow cooking and DC are watching Scooby Doo so I'm taking it easy for a bit.

Berrie · 09/02/2008 17:37

Good for you Lyra.
Dc are having tea then THEY ARE GOING TO BED!!! I'm so tired! I don't want to be out of bed any later than 9.30 which gives me 3 1/2 blissful child free hours. They are getting to me at the mo. can you tell? Dh is out flying all afternoon tomorrow too When I questioned this he brought up my London trip so I let it go but that isn't going to work too many more times

Zebedeedoodah · 09/02/2008 17:55

Berrie, is your DH keeping score? Men!
And good for you Lyra - a pint of cider is just the thing for trying sitting on Richmond Hill . Oggs, you strike me as the kind of woman who's never been known to put a cork back in a bottle. My kinda gal

DS and I spent today looking at the boats at Falmouth wilst eating pasties, then messing around on the gloriously sunny, warm beach. Beautiful - days like today make you remember why we moved to Cornwall in the first place. And, more importantly, he's now totally knackered.

Berrie · 09/02/2008 18:27

Zeb that sounds lovely. It was great to feel the sun on the face today wasn't it?

What are we all drinking tonight?

I'm on white wine.

Morning all.
Plans for the day?

I'm a bit fed up truth be told...I am very worried about the dog - she goes in next thursday but we will be on holiday before she comes out so I wont see her for another two weeks after that

I'm also feeling a bit down in that unspecific way you do sometimes..think its because I have had a couple of weeks of doing lots and having lots to look forward to and now it feels a bit hollow..I'm not really looking forward to my holiday because of the the dog (though I know I'll enjoy it when I get there) and just feeling a bit down.

My friend is suffering from bad panic attacks too - we were talking about it yesterday and I found it quite upsetting that she is suffering as she comes across as very together and chilled.

Today is just one of those 'big-doleful-sigh-at-regular-intervals kinda days - do you know what I mean?

We're going to give the dog a bath and good groom today to occupy her as obviously she cant go for a walk then dd has a nice party to go to at a horse sanctuary so that will be nice.

Berrie · 10/02/2008 09:48

Oh sorry you are feeling down. I know exactly what you mean. Poor doggy.

Is it a nice day today where you are? A bit of sunshine might cheer you up.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 10/02/2008 09:50

yes its lovely and bright..I think some time in the fresh air at the horse place will do me good wont it?

Berrie · 10/02/2008 10:15

Certainly will...think I might head up to the orchard when Dh goes out so get a bit myself!

Zebedeedoodah · 10/02/2008 10:39

Poor doggy, Binkle. I know what you mean about a 'harrumph' kinda day. But horses and sunshine should put a smile on your face. Are the dafs and snowdrops out where you are?

I'm going to chill today mostly, as there's a strong possibility that I might actually go to work tomorrow.

Berrie · 11/02/2008 07:21

Good morning! Frosty old day today. I need to make a list there are so many things I need to remember to do floating in and out of my mind. Here is as good a place as any!:
Go to see Parish clerk
Go get repeat prescriptions
Ring tutee's Mother to arrange session
Print pictures and post leter
Go dig up offered raspberries
Plan next lessons
Buy lunch bags for dc

Those are just the ones I can remember...

Morning
Wasn't around yesterday as it was dd's 8th birthday.
We (dh,dd and me) left home at 9:30; collected her friend; took dd for her riding lesson; went to soft play place where we met up with another 5 friends; spent 2 hours amongst screaming children spending £80 in the process; came home shattered; made meatballs; had tea; dropped off original friend at 7:30; collapsed exhausted in a heap .
Dd on hols until Thurs so don't think I'll be achieving much over the next three days .

Berrie, how will you dig up rasps with your bad back? Be careful.
Poor Binkle. I know exactly the sort of day you mean. Hopefully you feel better today.
Zeb, you know me too well, anyway I was always told that wine doesn't keep so that's my excuse .

Berrie · 11/02/2008 10:15

I won't dig them, I'll get dh to do it with his bad shoulder!

Sounds like a fun day Oggs

Playinig catch up on way too many emails. And every kid in nursery had spots all over them this morning. Makes you wonder why DS had to stay at home if they all had the pox.
Sorry Berrie, will play later

Berrie · 11/02/2008 10:35

Hok will let you off...was the same for DH after his 3 days off while I went to London He has still not quite caught up

More items on list:

Post food parcel to friend in Africa
Ring friend just back from Carribean
Write to M&S about credit note
Contact my friend Lee's friend and mutual friend to arrange meet up on Wednesday. (MFL'sF might have a swing class performance - I've told him, never mind swing class, he need to do a fast dance class so he can be a brother in Joseph and I we can meet Lee!)
er...that's it for now...
