So as of Saturday I shall be attempting to acheive the following, I may be biting off more than I can chew initially but I am determined to get there. My aim, to lose a bit of weight, have a more organised home and happier DP.

  1. No nibling at DCs tea/leftovers
  2. No eating snacks & treats I have brought/made for DCs
  3. Walk up to my office on the second floor every day
  4. Takeaways once a fortnight at most
  5. Participate as fully as possible in Flylady activities
  6. Lounge floor to be cleared of DD3s toys before I go to bed
  7. Bottom of stairs (where clutter accumulates) to be cleared at least once a week
  8. No MNetting between 3 and DTDs bedtime (I know don't laugh)
  9. No MNettinng after 11pm when I have to get up in the morning

So anyone else want to pledge to make changes in theier life or am I going to be talking to myself?

Ooooh sounds good.

What is Flylady activities?

SlightlyMadShockwave · 28/08/2007 22:49

Flylady is about getting your house in order.

Chechout the BabyFly threads in Housekeeping....we are ust starting - we are on Day 2. Yesterday we shined our sinks....

OP posts:
fick · 28/08/2007 22:52

ooooh - ALL of your sinks?

Not that I have dozens or anything.

Will have a look, thank you.

SlightlyMadShockwave · 28/08/2007 22:54

No I cleaned my sink and the other Fliers cleaned their sinks ...

OP posts:
FlameBatfink · 28/08/2007 22:59

Some of us stuck our heads into the thread, muttered that they would shine their sink... and then didn't....

SlightlyMadShockwave · 28/08/2007 23:02

Flame - you should be ashamed......Did you tie your shoes today?

I did - but that was before I saw thread before I went to work so I guess it doesn't necessarily count...

FlameBatfink · 28/08/2007 23:04

I put on my flip flops

SlightlyMadShockwave · 29/08/2007 09:37

Well, God knows I need a kick up the arse to do something, so can I join, please?

My aims are identical to SMSW's, to have a tidy home, lose weight, and stop the OH niggling at me for the place being a tip. So:

  1. No takeaways
  2. Eat a proper low-carb breakfast
  3. No snacks/junk
  4. Make time to go to the gym
  5. Clear up the l/room floor in the half hour between dd's tea and OH coming home
  6. No dumping stuff at the bottom of the stairs in the vain hope that someone else will take it up and put it away
  7. No computer after 10.30pm

That's it for the moment.. maybe if I can get that bit organised I might investigate Flylady (currently sitting here barefoot so I fall at the first fence!)

LilRedWG · 29/08/2007 10:27

DH and I are trying to cut down on alcohol at the moment, but I think I need to add a few things to my list:

  1. Keep takeaways to an absolute minimum - a real treat.
  2. Cut out all alcohol when just the two of us at home. Will drink when out or if have people over for a meal.
  3. Make more of an effort with housework.
  4. Limit MN to an hour in the morning ( not sure about this one, considering I've been here for two hours this morning).
happystory · 29/08/2007 10:32

Was thinking this very thing as I got up this morning.

  1. Don't let ds's attitude to schoolwork slide...(GCSE year- gulp)
  2. Get up earlier on weekdays
  3. Don't faff around at home on days off
  4. Do that 'only touch a piece of paper one' thing, i.e. deal with letters etc straightaway.

Sigh

happystory · 29/08/2007 10:33

'once'

peanutbear · 29/08/2007 10:34

ok I'll join you want to

1)lose 3 stone
2) become much more organised
3) stop sitting on Laptop when I could tidy up
4) go out for more walks
5) make some friends
6)sell my house so i can go home

I think thats enough to be getting on with lol

peanutbear · 29/08/2007 10:35

I dump stuff at he bottom of the stairs too but no-one ever carries it up lol

Hurlyburly · 29/08/2007 10:52

I'd like to join. My aim is to:

  1. Lose a stone and get back into a size 12 by October through weightwatchers online
  2. Do at least one sporty thing a week (swimming or exercise DVD)
  3. Cut MNET down to when the children are in bed, ie post 8.30 pm
  4. Tidy up EVERY ROOM, EVERY NIGHT and make sure the next day's clothes are put out to minimise the chaotic rush in the morning
  5. Master a new recipe every week
  6. Do a monthly online shop for household items
pinkisthatme · 29/08/2007 10:56

Me too please!!
Like you LilRedWG my main aim is to mega cut back on the alcohol.
Also I'd like to start jogging again, at least twice a week - will get harder as evenings get darker!
Lose a stone to get back to pre-dd3 weight.
To stay calm & organised with 3 dd's when school routine restarts!

SlightlyMadShockwave · 29/08/2007 11:05

Wow...this is proving popular... I am starting on 1st Sept (mainly cos I wanted time to run this recruitment drive.), although I am trying to do some of them already (but not punishing myself untl Sept).

LilRedWG · 29/08/2007 11:08

Can I start on the 4th when the 2 big kids go back to school? Haven't made a list yet, just decided to be a more effective and efficient person/parent. Will go and write list but it maybe a long one!!

jofeb04 · 29/08/2007 12:43

Can I join in?

Mine are

  1. Eating three meals a day (normally miss breakfast so snack through the day)
  2. Go to the Gym at least three times a week, and swimming once a week
  3. Plan meals, rather than just going to the shop and spending a fortune!
  4. Join in Flylady
  5. Make sure I don't do uni work last minute!
