So as of Saturday I shall be attempting to acheive the following, I may be biting off more than I can chew initially but I am determined to get there. My aim, to lose a bit of weight, have a more organised home and happier DP.

  1. No nibling at DCs tea/leftovers
  2. No eating snacks & treats I have brought/made for DCs
  3. Walk up to my office on the second floor every day
  4. Takeaways once a fortnight at most
  5. Participate as fully as possible in Flylady activities
  6. Lounge floor to be cleared of DD3s toys before I go to bed
  7. Bottom of stairs (where clutter accumulates) to be cleared at least once a week
  8. No MNetting between 3 and DTDs bedtime (I know don't laugh)
  9. No MNettinng after 11pm when I have to get up in the morning

So anyone else want to pledge to make changes in theier life or am I going to be talking to myself?

Can I join?

Here's my list

  1. Lose 1.5 stone by Christmas by a) eating healthily and b) doing a bit of exercise each day
  2. Keep the house tidy (ok - get it tidy first!)
  3. Spend less time on MN and more time talking to DH and paying attention to DD
  4. Find a creative outlet (preferably one that involves making money)

I'm very goal oriented and this sort of thing really suits me so here's hoping I can stick to them!
5. Spend less

loonylovegood · 03/09/2007 09:00

Can I join too? I really need to sort my life out!

My list is-

1- Stop playing Scrabulous all day!
2- No MN between 9 am and lunchtime.
3- Write a to do list everyday of housework that needs doing and actually do it.
4- Save some money up and learn to drive.
5- Stop eating so much crap.
6- Take my dd to more toddler groups.
7- Get out of the house every day.
8- Make my dp use washable nappies when he changes the dcs!
9- Actually pay my bills!
10- Start ebaying again to make some money.
11- Get thin again, I am determined to get in my size 12 jeans by the new year!

Long list, sorry, but my life is a mess!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/09/2007 10:40

Just back from long fast walk (well 1hr 10mins)
If I do that every week day I will be very happy with myself. I picked a bit last night, chicken curry at 11pm and then a glass of wine. I am not going to drink wine until friday now.
dp is happy
now my goal for this week is to sort out all the too-small clothes in the wardrobe.

foxybrown · 03/09/2007 13:30

I want to join too! So far my list is:

Devise a list for here.

And I've failed so far!!

I'll be back later, so count me in

loonylovegood · 03/09/2007 13:39

Well done foxy! That's the first step!

Right, I've written a to do list and I've done a load of washing and a load of nappies, now off to clean the bathroom (and polish my halo)!!

Northstar, I need to sort out the too small clothes in the wardrobe too !!

loonylovegood · 03/09/2007 13:42

northstar · 03/09/2007 14:23

Have to admit I was on mn for ages this morning and got nothing done but am having problems with dd. Will post on our thread but started one this morning as well if you can help me?

MrsWeasley · 03/09/2007 17:36

I linked this thread for another person, (being the helpful soul that I am) and having read a few posts I really should be signing up myself.

So here goes.
I have modified SNS list as my starting point.

  1. No nibling at DCs tea/leftovers
  2. No eating snacks & treats I have brought/made for DCs
  3. take at least 20m mins of exercise a day
  4. make school lunches the night before
  5. Participate as fully as possible in Flylady activities
  6. Lounge floor to be cleared of dc toys/papers before I go to bed
  7. No MNetting or isketching between 3 and dcs bedtime
  8. No MNettinng or isketching after 11pm when I have to get up in the morning
  9. clear kitchen before bed

fingers crossed

Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:35

Right. Have been looking for this thread and thanks to Mrs Weasley I have found you all!

My list:

1 drink 2 litres of water every day
2 Walk every 2nd day (or cross trainer)
3 Plan meals and actually start cooking BEFORE DH comes in so that he ends up doing it!
4 Help/encourage DS to tidy toys every evening.
5 Get back to reading bedtime story to DS.
6 No alcohol Sunday to Thursday unless going out.
7 Organise the house room by room
8 Limit MN to one hour through the day and not at all after school till DS in bed.
9 Take vitamins
10 Cut portion sizes and eat healthily.
11 Get myself to dentist

DS starts back at school tomorrow so that is my first day really although haven't had any wine tonight. DH is away so it's easier.

SlightlyMadSCAREYthing · 03/09/2007 22:06

Wow - lots of newbies, - WELCOME

I am proud that I have had a good day today, I think that I have met all of my goals - including not eating DCs leftovers and not MN between 3pm & DTDs bedtime (which I thought was an *impossible challenge).

I had missed my pelvic floors too, but am in the process of rectifying that

Hopefully you are all making progress too, or are raring to go tomorrow when you kick your DCs off to school.

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/09/2007 23:04

started off with gusto today.

had a nice healthy breakfast

took DS scootering and got snacky stuff for a pyjama party

ate salad for lunch and roast chicken and salad for tea.

took DS swimming and managed to deflect the major paddy in the changing room

postponed the pyjama party as DH not home in time, but all ok with DS

had another major paddy over teeth brushing and the fact that he refuses to wipe his bottom or even flush the bloody toilet....i didn't manage it as well as i might have done as a result of being tired and sore and having a raging sore throat .

didn't have any booze

ate a packet of american hard gums and an almond magnum

Not too bad i suppose. We were both really tired after our mammoth walk (we were out for nearly five hours) and then he had his swimming lesson.

Oh, and I MNetted a little too much.

Tomorrow is another day

hope everyone else did OK!

northstar · 03/09/2007 23:53

at daisy's walk.

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 08:45

Can I add a couple to my list?:

5. Spend less

6. Stop buying trashy celebrity magazines. Going to get my last fix today then that's it - I'm going cold turkey!

7. Expand myself intellectually. Just because I have just had a baby doesn't mean I need to let my brain go mushy!

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 08:47

Right, off to work on number 3!

fedupwithironing · 04/09/2007 09:23

Am I too late to join u all? I need to sort my life out

  1. Stop eating chocolate and drinking wine
  2. Do more exercise
  3. Get job/eBay house contents! There will be more resolutions but this is a start This thread is a great idea, by the way. Might make me actually do something!
northstar · 04/09/2007 10:49

Good idea, I am definately going to ebay alot this autumn but can't bring myself to stay indoors while the weather is so good.
I had a very small glass of wine last night. Cutting down the alcohol is going to be the hardest thing on my list

Emzy5 · 04/09/2007 11:12

oooh good ideas everyone. am i too late to join?

my list is:

  1. no snacking except fruit or veg
  2. jogging once a week, gym once a week
  3. put ds in his cot for daytime naps instead of sitting and holding him ALL day (sooo hard, any tips?) 4)meet up with other mums (not just virtually)
SlightlyMadSCAREYthing · 04/09/2007 21:19

Its never too late to join. My day hasn't been great and there are absolutely no excuses for it .

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 23:01

We're all too busy being busy, LOL

things good with DS....even managed a bedtime story and din't scream at hime once today (methinks him being back at school had a lot to do with us getting on better)

walked today instead of taking the car.

dietwise did ok till after tea, then had two magnums

had a g'n't earlier (I think i only said I'd not drink wine through the week, so technically not a failure )

did nothing to sort out the chaos in my house.

MNetted more than i should have done!

Budababe · 05/09/2007 09:49

happystory · 05/09/2007 10:37

Ok, encouraging ds with studies going well, but he's still in enthusiastic mode...

getting up earlier going fantastically even after a bottle of wine with dh last night ON A TUESDAY

no faffing about on days off have come to conclusion this means mn and internet in general, not so great

dealing with letters etc straightaway good- including ditching junk mail as soon as it arrives not letting it pile up in the kitchen and even putting return to sender on some naff clothing catalogues that someone has decided I would like

bumperlicious · 05/09/2007 12:31
