Swagger Inn 158 - Weather Turning Chilly - It’s Important To Layer Up - HBFs To The Rescue

Layering up is indeed the best way to stay warm as the weather turns chilly. Fortunately HBFs also come with cloaks and coats which makes them doubly effective Grin

Been out for Indian food. Yum Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2018 18:12

Evening. I'm pooped, and am now being a cat bed.

Watching a David Attenborough thingy about insects which we recorded ages ago. Apparently the chief chimp in the programme we watched last night died about 7 months after filming finished (beaten up again by younger males).

That sounds like a very productive day apricot, though a pain about the bin collection.

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2018 19:30

Evening wenches.

Sneaky bastards Apricot Angry. Productive day though.

Sounds lovely Wicked. Good food and good company - excellent.

Saw that about the chimp earlier. Poor thing, but he probably beat the crap out of another chimp when he took over the group I suppose.

thanks Helen

DS2 has done tonight’s homework. No arguing, no prevaricating, no complaining when he checked it over and realised he had to redo some of it. And he did the extension homework too.

I may need more than one drink to get over the shock.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2018 20:29

I should think you probably need some assistance to get over the shock. LetUs. Dr Aramis maybe? Or perhaps you just need a lie-down? Fantastic news though.

I also warbled 'Ciircle of Liiiiiiiife' at DS during Dynasties (Which I still want to call 'dysentery')

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2018 21:02

a lot. Repeatedly.

Ah dysentery the story of the Carringtons. Used to love watching that Grin

Joan Collins' amazing bubbly baths Envy

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2018 23:04

Completely. She never had anyone knocking on the bathroom door about five minutes after she’d got in saying they needed the loo did she?

I remember being very excited when Michael Praed was in it. Grin

Right I need to get to sleep. Well eventually anyway - that’s a lot of beds to roll around in. Wouldn’t want to deprive any of the HBFs.

Athos is almost in bed Helen.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 15/11/2018 07:38

Morning wenches. Cold and damp outside. Can’t be arsed.

And when I’ve those sort of incentives to stay in bed, why would I get up?

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2018 08:25

Morning. I absolutely think that you should stay in bed LetUs

Oh God - yes - Joan Collins never had small people pesteringher in the bath. She did have had HBFs (or at least, the object of her affections) visit her while she was in the bath though. I could work with that

Is cloudy and a bit damp here.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2018 10:25

Oh fucking hell.
I have lost my passwords for all my online non-banking stuff. Including MN. I'm going to try and reset it..... I may be some time Confused
Think of me kindly....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2018 14:27

Fucking actual bloody hell. How bloody hard does the tax office make it to request one bloody form? They have my national insurance no. they have me listed as a resident (because they fleece me for enough bloody tax) so why does it take abut an hour to re-enter countless bloody bits of information (that they already have) get them to issue one sodding letter to confirm that I'm a resident in this country? FFAS.

On the plus side they've fleeced me for so much money that actually, they now owe me.

I have successfully changed MN password and remembered others so far, but there are countless shopping/web account passwords that I have no idea what they are. FFS. etc etc Including one gmail address that autoforwards everything to my main one, but gmail can't possibly work out that it's mine unless I know the password or when exactly I opened it. Never mind that it's linked to my main account. FFAS.

And now Inconvenient Cat is eating a mouse in the dining room. Well, I suppose he has the right room at least.

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2018 14:53

Helen what have you done to him?!

at InconvenientCat using correct room

Many sympathies re password shite

Afternoon wenches.

Oh Helen, I'm locked out of MN on my PC, I've tried various passwords and it won't accept them. I've requested a password reset and nothing's come through. IPad's alright. What's going on? Confused

Sad about David the Chimp, but I was surprised he came back after being left for dead.

I loved Dynasty. DD still watches it on some obscure channel. She and her friends used to re-enact it when they were young.

Eeeek at Inconvenient Cat and the mouse. Shock

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2018 17:24

MN password reset worked fine for me, thank goodness. God knows what your PC is up to Apricot - though I had MN open on two different browsers while I was trying to sort myself out, and the original one that was already open carried on working fine after I changed my password - even though it was logged in on the old password, so go figure.

I've just been mooching online - they're planning to remake Rebecca with Armie Hammer (Klaxon for LetUs and fancy) which led me down another wormhole where I found out that... Armie Hammer’s genitals had to be digitally edited out of the acclaimed gay romance Call Me By Your Name. The actor’s oh-so-short shorts had failed to contain him and some work was required in post-production to tidy things up. I thought of wench reactions and enthusiastic offers to tidy up Mr Hammer and sniggered a lot. Though obviously wenches would sort the matter out in person/real life - not digitally. Now there's a job for you...

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/11/2018 18:00

Oh, Michael Praed, he was so hot as Robin Hood Smile

ApricotCrush · 15/11/2018 20:11

Peace has been returned, I can now post on MN on the PC. Smile

Yes, indeed he was WW.

Grin at Armie Hammer's genitals.

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2018 20:15

Evening wenches. Blimey I’m still tired. Obviously it would help if I actually went to bed and to sleep at a reasonable time. Idiot.

I’ve got the Dynasty theme tune going through my head now.

They had some of the Robin Hood episodes on earlier this year/possibly last year. He was lovely Wicked I agree. Wasn’t he in a Jilly Cooper adaptation too?

Oooo at Armie Hammer in Rebecca remake! Even bigger oooooo at the required assistance! Grin

Thought I’d be safe from the football with DH being out. DS2’s watching it. And talking about it. At least it was an incentive to get him to do his homework and he’ll stay where he is while I go upstairs and wrap his presents. Birthday time tomorrow!

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2018 21:25

Yay! Welcome back to your PC Apricot

Jilly Cooper - could well be. I have a vague image in my head of Michael Praed strutting round in a pair of jodhpurs, so it seems likely. If I was more bothered I could IMDB him to check... Also, see twitter.com/MrPhilNorman/status/1062336008161804288 Grin

I am pooped too LetUs - have been doing grown-up banking and paperwork things (see previous rant) and now I just want to let my brain dissolve into mush. Really I should be thinking about packing for mini-meet. Or at least washing my hair which is frankly minging ('minging' - for the benefit of HBFs, is when your hair is beautiful and glossy and swishes about in an attractive way. Not greasy and lank and in need of a good scrub .)

We have Mastershout on, which at least isn't football.

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2018 22:45

I like your Definition for HBFs Helen

I’ve just made the mistake of looking in the mirror. I thought it was the John Major Spitting Image puppet looking back at me.

That tweet Grin

Skills DS1 has mastered: he makes an absolutely belting cup of tea.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 15/11/2018 23:43

Evening. Am watching Question Time, it's getting fruity Grin

Boo to the bin collection apricot

But a mahooooooooosive YAY to Armie in Rebecca. And in too-short shorts

This is a helpful thought to erase the memory of earlier this evening - had to wash FancyCat's rear end I appear to be largely unscathed. Just. But I now have a soggy, pissed off cat......

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2018 23:58

We just saw that too Fancy Grin

Ick at assisting FancyCat with bathing issues

I was just about to head for the hayloft. DH put BBC1 back on. Dan Snow is on This Week. Mmmmm.

Morning wenches.

Fridayfridayfriday Fridayfridayfriday

Have to have a mad tidy up later for people coming round. There’ll be a lot of hiding stuff in cupboards

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/11/2018 08:17

Morning!!!!!!!!

and at FancyCat's mucky bottom. I once had to pull out a sock that was stuck in a dog's rear end. Envy (not envy)

LetUs - you'd best stick your collection of HBFs in the cupboard unless you want to share them. DS doesn't do cups of tea, but he does do lovely morning cuddles still - awww.

I must away and do athos stuff. (and Athos, obvs.)

Oh, but also yesterday I was trying to work out when something had happened (bloody internet security questions!) and ended up looking in the Store Room to tie up dates - I vanished down a bit of a worm-hole there. Happy days Grin

FancyFancy · 16/11/2018 09:14

Morning.
Yay it's Friday & I'm off work as I went in on Monday instead Grin

Nedd to get out of bed and in the shower........

ApricotCrush · 16/11/2018 15:32

Afternoon. Very dark and miserable day here, although quite warm.

at John Major Spitting Image puppet. Surely not LetUs.

I too have washed my hair Helen and also been to the dentist for check up and scale and polish, so now I can think about packing for tomorrow. No idea what to wear. There was a report of the theatre being excessively hot but that was from someone who was ill, so who knows? There was also a report of people getting lost. I can do that, it's my speciality. Confused
