Swagger Inn 158 - Weather Turning Chilly - It’s Important To Layer Up - HBFs To The Rescue

Layering up is indeed the best way to stay warm as the weather turns chilly. Fortunately HBFs also come with cloaks and coats which makes them doubly effective Grin

etc. at keeping my temperature up

Oh - hip. Yes. meh. I have no idea, It hurts. It's hurt for a few weeks. DH wants me to go to the Dr, but they'll just send me away until it's hurt for longer than 3 weeks. I think I've pulled something, and I keep aggravating it (jumping on HBFs bales with DS), so it will take at least 6 weeks to get better. DH was on about phoning his physio and sending me to see her. Dunno.

What I really need is a full work-over by Dr Athos. In lieu of that, a physio would probably be more use that a Dr for working out what's wrong. Grin

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2018 22:06

Mine was/is tendinitis. Physio was fab —although I’m not doing myself any favours by not keeping up with the exercises because idiot—

I’d rather exercise it by keeping the hips regularly flexed and really stretching those muscles out

We’re on the penultimate episode of Black Earth Rising.

Later I will be on an HBF.

Enjoy the HBF LetUs, I will be snuggled up in the hayloft Grin

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2018 23:32

Hayloft for me too

It is too dark to go ad feed the chickens when I get up now Sad

Doooom Sad

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2018 08:28

Morning wenches.

Dooooom at the early morning darkness.

Athos likes the crawling stance though Grin

DS2 has taken the half term holiday to mean that he should get up before 7 and not need to be dragged out of bed like in term time.

I absolutely have to go into town today and do my errands, then ironing. Thrills and glamour.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 23/10/2018 16:08

Afternoon. It'll be lighter next week in the mornings. Although it'll be darker in the afternoons. More doooom...

My hip has been hurting for over a year. I think it's tendinitis or bursitis or so Dr. Google tells me. I can't be bothered to do anything about it, I'm so fed up with doctors, hospitals and dentists this year. Strangely, it's worse at night. I'm in agony when I try to turn over in bed, I sometimes have to get out, turn around and get back in again. Grin

I'm doing a bit of DD's washing at the moment because she was without a washing machine at the weekend. In amongst it was a really tatty nightdress with gaping seams and the neckband hanging off. I thought why on earth is she keeping this? Then I realised it's the one she gave birth in. I'm mending it for her, she doesn't know yet. Smile Of course, if I'd done my job properly she'd be able to mend it herself. Hmm

FancyFancy · 23/10/2018 16:13

Aw apricot that's sweet of you Smile

FancyFancy · 23/10/2018 16:25

Any luck persuading MrA to let in your new feline friend?

ApricotCrush · 23/10/2018 17:03

I haven't seen him in the garden since. Sad I think he took a dim view of the fact that there wasn't any food for him in the kitchen.

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2018 17:24

What a lovely thing to do Apricot!

Sad about not seeing that cat again

I was just having a nap (only five minutes as not been sleeping particularly well at night) as DH came home. Bear in mind, he’s sometimes on the settee “resting his eyes” when I get in and I say nothing because I get that he’s tired and works hard. He’s made a bit of a snarky comment, then he spoke to DS2 (playing on the wii] who gave him one word answers, so he’s gone upstairs sulking. Hey, I know what I’ll do, I’ll take up all the ironing that took me nearly two hours this afternoon. Dick.

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2018 17:58

He’s come downstairs, apologised and made me a cup of tea. I’ve had words with DS2.

Yoga later. Need to keep flexible for the HBFs.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/10/2018 19:58

Devotion to the cause LetUs - that's what your flexibility efforts are Grin And minor at MrLetUs. He gets off the full Vinnie since he apologised.

Apricot - awwwww Smile that's lovely.

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2018 20:27

In RL no one would be impressed by my frankly pathetic levels of flexibility. Blush And at the end, when you’re being told to basically relax and let your mind empty, I’m fairly sure I shouldn’t be lying there imagining an HBF lying next to me, whispering in my ear the filthy things he’s got planned for us for the rest of the night.

I’ve got back and they’re all watching the football. Super.

at yoga relaxation techniques. I always used to fall asleep during that bit - though that was before I was corrupted enlightened by the Swagger Inn Grin

In other extremely frustrating events (other than not having HBFs to hand) today sat around for 45 past y appointment time trying to give blood, only to have them fail to find a vein. Then the first chippy was rammed full and the other one had finished frying by the time I got there, so we didn't get fish and chips for tea either. Gah!!! Sad

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2018 21:26

This is how I picture a mat next to me in the class

The not being able to give blood after waiting for a long time is annoying (and has reminded me I must try to book in). The not getting fish and chips is really fucking annoying. That is shit.

See, if that was on the mat next to me, I'd be unlikely to relax - let alone fall asleep.

Don Carlos Review

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2018 22:28

I certainly wouldn’t be asleep. I’d definitely be stretching my legs and hips.

Have read the review and footnote. Looking forward to finding out what you and Apricot think of the play Helen.

I’m supposed to be having an early night so it’s hayloft for me where I plan to find out just how many different positions I can get into.

Morning!

LetUsPrey · 24/10/2018 08:12

Morning wenches.

Back to work today. Urgh.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 24/10/2018 10:19

Morning.

Wench yoga? May not be relaxing, but would raise the heart rate Grin

Sad at not seeing the cat again apricot - hopefully someone else has taken him in?

That sucks helen - I think you deserve the drink & biscuits for waiting that long.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/10/2018 10:28

I deserve more than bloody drink and biscuits this morning.

Left for work - road blocked by oil tanker... Gah!
Oil tanker finishes, leaves. I set off again... road blocked by dustbin lorry... FFS.
Bin lorry pulls over - yay! I carry on up the road. Car pulls out in front of me... crunch. FFAS, FML etc.
Limp the car home to sort out insurance claim, and swear at the world.
Off to work again now in DH's car. Unless the universe is telling me something and I should just not go to work today Hmm See that post I did about alternative transport methods over the weekend? Yes please...

FancyFancy · 24/10/2018 10:31

Oh no helen Shock

Never mind the car, are you ok?

ApricotCrush · 24/10/2018 17:43

Afternoon.

Oh no Helen, you're not having a good time of it at the moment, are you? Hope you're alright.

That review was interesting. I'm still apprehensive, my hearing isn't too good at the best of times.

Went to the opticians this morning, I'd been putting it off for a year. Blush All was well, exept my wallet. Hmm

Watched ep 6 of Killing Eve last night. God, she's terrifying. Shock

ApricotCrush · 24/10/2018 17:48

Oh, and Max the cat. I've seen him doing his rounds in the road, and waiting for his new owners to come home. No idea whether he has anyone else who takes him in. They're mysterious creatures.
