mummyeme- really? which ones were you? we was little girl Ruby-Star, peachy pink coloured dress, we were the last to go in for the 12-1pm group, thats funny being there the same time, got a call for babies r us shoot, needing measurements today.
i've been checking her web page but not updated yet.
my other baby had a fitting for tomoz for m&s but she has got a viral infection and rash so i had to turn it down.

Rubystar77 · 14/06/2007 20:23

forgot to say i've got long dark hair was wearing jeans and greeny browny swirly top,
i was the one chasing her around the place!

eleanorsmum · 14/06/2007 20:25

hi my dd has just been offered an informal assessment for modelling. quite excited about going, any tips? she is nearly three.

totallyfloaty35 · 14/06/2007 20:52

which agency eleanorsmum?

eleanorsmum · 14/06/2007 20:59

it's called lil devils based in reading berkshire

totallyfloaty35 · 14/06/2007 21:10

dont no that one,do they charge for this assessment? have you tried any other agents, kids london, bruce and brown, urban angels, mot? they all have little or no start up costs and they get huge amounts of work,3 yrs old can be a busy age in modelling.Apply to the well known agents first, dont pay for an assesment and dont pay huge amounts for photos, most of the big agents get your child work just from gd clear snap shots

Rubystar77 · 14/06/2007 22:05

hi again mummyeme
just re read postsfrom before and noticed you have a nearly 3 yr old girl, is your little girl erin? blonde curly hair, i remember from the photo shoot, if its the same little girl it was my little one playing with her and passing bricks, weird if it was you.....
hi dancerdeb any news your end? i'm pleased with both agencies seem to be having contact from both weekly at the mo, bk were friendly at the shoot.

dancerdeb · 15/06/2007 09:20

Hi Rubystar77,
glad to hear that all is goin well with your agencies, youre with bk and who else again?
did you get the babies r us shoot, fingers crossed you did!! No, nothin yet as regards my ds, have had some new photos done of him so I'll get them in soon, now its just like whatever!, maybe thats a better philosophy to have.
Blondiepops have you heard anything yet as regards your girls?

mummyeme · 15/06/2007 11:04

Hi Rubystar,
Yes it was us! Your little ones gorgeous good luck for babiesrus, thats brilliant fingers crossedx
Dancerdeb, I'm sure that KL will come good, perhaps there hasn't been much work about for the age group but you'll be busy soon. I'd say that being accepted by them must be an acheivement in itself!
Hope it's all going great for everybody!

dancerdeb · 15/06/2007 11:27

mummyeme, thanks for that nice reassurance, yeah it will happen sooner or later, im sure. from what I understand youre with bk, how many dd's or ds's have you got and are you with the one agency, soz but there are so many of us I cant remember who is with who

OP posts:
eleanorsmum · 15/06/2007 14:08

have looked at the other agencies and will see what happens next thurs as we can't really afford to travel to london for castings etc.

does any one know of any other agencies near reading, bracknell berkshire etc.?

onehackedoffmuma · 15/06/2007 16:21

eleanorsmum - the majority of castings and jobs are in London. Did Lil Devils explain this to you? Agencies stress that being able to get into town at short notice is an imperative and from experience every casting my little one has done has been in London, with the majority of his jobs in town too.

goingfor3 · 15/06/2007 17:34

eleanorsmum - you are unlikely to find local jobs/castings unless you live in London. Children are paid for castings usually between £12 - £18 but you don't usualyy get the payment for three months. Good luck.

mummyeme · 15/06/2007 19:06

Hi everyone,
Dancerdeb, my dd is nearly 3 and with BK but thinking about mimo as they aren't sole rep either, does anyone know anything about them? I know they're quite new and theres nothing to pay upfront, but I expect BK would get most work their way anyhow?

Eleanorsmum, some agencies will take from all over England, I know BK do and not sure about Alphabet Kids, maybe Mimo as well so you could try them also. Email them and see what happens but good luck for next week, fingers crossed and have fun I get really excited too yey!

Anyone had castings, jobs etc? hope its going well

Rubystar77 · 15/06/2007 21:43

hi,
oh wow, that is strange mummeme, she's lovely your lo. might see you at some castings as similar age group, mines 18 months. my other little one is 6 months with scallywags.
only had a phone call regarding babies r us from bk asking clothes size , weight and height. fingers crossed she fits criteria.
i agree with mummyeme , dancerdeb its an acheivement you 've been accepted with kl, we had 2 no's from them.
how old is your little boy again? 4 i think? i'm sure he will get work soon, its just luck really its what that client is looking for at the time... x

dancerdeb · 16/06/2007 10:21

Mummyeme,Rubystar77 youre in good hands with bk, they are the most approachable, friendly agency goin, I left only because I wanted the experience of being in one of the top ones! (as I said before, maybe a case of the grass is greener)!
Mummyeme who are Mimo, I have never heard of them, I agree with you if your agency isnt sole rep try and go with another, theres always somethin goin on that way ( I was with bk and ak at the same time)
Rubstar77, my little boy is 5yrs old and has long curly hair, which doesnt always work in his favour as regards castings.
Hopefully you'll hear soon from bk, regarding babiesrus, Im sure you will!

mummyeme · 16/06/2007 18:28

hi dancerdeb,
just found mimo when I was searching for agencies, they're called mimo model mgmnt and are run by an ex model, the website looks pretty good and from it they look quite professional but they have adults as well and there aren't many childrens things on the client list.
I'm sure you should do as well if not better with KL as all agencies must get the same jobs their way and I'd expect kl maybe more. You're little ds sounds gorgeous, I'm sure he'll do well and is in the right place, just a matter of the right jobs coming along
Rubystar, funny how its a small world, fingers crossed for babiesrus. fingers crossed for castings really soon, or even better some straight jobs

julie4travel · 17/06/2007 09:17

mummyeme- i know we havent had that many castings or jobs yet i cant say i have ever seen a mimo child at any of the castings we have been too. i think last year a few people joined them yet i dont believe i have ever read on here as someone getting calls for castings etc with them.
maybe someone else will post on here and advise otherwise.my kids are personally with agencies who have been round 20 or so years so have built up the rapport and got clients over the years. i cant remember what other agent you are with yet if they are well established you will prob find you dont need to go with anyone else. good luck

dancerdeb · 17/06/2007 15:40

Mummyeme,
I agree with julie-4travel, go with an agency that has a reputation and has been around for a while with good references, there are plenty out there non sole rep - MOT, Alphabetkidz, they are the ones that I know of. Has anybody heard of Bodens casting agency, my ds goes there to do dance/drama/singing, better still, is there anybody that go to Bodens? we might know each other!!

OP posts:
mum2twoboyz · 17/06/2007 19:09

am with mimo, and although have had emails saying bein put forward for jobs, never ever had a job with them!!
and agree about ak - their communication is cr@p. believe me, if i cud get ds into any other agency right now - i wud do it at high speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dancerdeb · 17/06/2007 19:32

mum2twoboyz, yeah I know exactly what you mean about AK, it all started off so very nice!! and a couple of times I couldnt make a casting for very valid reasons, it became very tense and childish, have you had similar experiences with them? I would never go back to them, even if I was without an agent, I also have a couple of friends whom have left them, you shuld apply to bk or mot whom are both nonsole rep, if thats what youre loking for?

OP posts:
totallyfloaty35 · 17/06/2007 21:08

is ak multi agent? she told me she was sole agency

dancerdeb · 17/06/2007 21:17

yes, she is nonsole rep, and specifically told me that she was, as she knew I was with bk also!

OP posts:
totallyfloaty35 · 17/06/2007 21:35

ok thanks am considerin putting dd1 with her as she no longer with u/a and we also with bk now

dancerdeb · 17/06/2007 21:39

floaty35, go for it, because she does get the work for the kids, and everyone has different experiences with different agencies!
