...Shall we have our chat thread over here?

Edie-glad to hear you are ok, I've got my GTT on the Tuesday after next.
That sounds a really good weight, my two were 7lbs 10 oz and 8 lbs 5 oz.
Is it Norwich that you live in? If so I 've been really kicking myself as I could have come to see you when we were away, as we drove through Norwich one day-we were staying at West Runton.
Had a really relaxing holiday, DSs spent hours playing with the other children on the campsite, meaning DH and myself could sit around reading.
Even though I've eaten everything in sight, I still weigh less than before my stomach bug and am only 2-3 pounds heavier than my pre pregnancy overweight state!

EdieMcredie · 19/08/2007 09:45

Yes it is Norwich! Yes you could have popped in, would have been great to see you! Although don't know how we would have worked it out as you would have needed to get on MN and get my address from me...

Good luck with your GTT!! How far are you now?

OP posts:
Jossiejump · 19/08/2007 09:51

I'm 26 weeks-that's 10 behind you isn't it? Although I'm hoping I'll be early like the other 2, knowing my luck I'll be late!

EdieMcredie · 20/08/2007 08:26

Yes im 37 weeks this Thursday

Getting a bit uncomfortable now...

OP posts:
Jossiejump · 21/08/2007 08:49

Can't believe you are so close, it has gone really quickly!

Jossiejump · 29/08/2007 21:18

Edie-Are you there? Has anything happened yet?????

EdieMcredie · 31/08/2007 09:19

No nothing has happened yet! Drinking my rasberry leaf tea by the gallon in an effort to try and soften my cervix

Had a few occasions where I have thought, 'is this it?...' but then nothing. She is getting more and more active to the point where it is very painful and uncomfortable so I resort to walking up and down in an effort to rock her to sleep which isn't working this morning. She is very strong and some of the pain in my pelvis is just torture but I can't complain.

How are you two?

OP posts:
Jossiejump · 01/09/2007 19:39

I'm getting really strong kicks too-stronger than with the boys, so much so that if it happens when I'm laying down it rocks me from side to side! Lots of Braxton Hicks too.
Haven't heard anything so far about GTT, which in this county means that it is ok, but will double check with midwife when I have growth scan next Thursday.
Wonder how Lynne is getting on?

EdieMcredie · 03/09/2007 19:54

Hiya Edie
I'm 28 weeks 5 days now! Can't believe that you are so close to your date. No news back from my GTT so I presume that is ok, growth scan on Thursday.
Ds1 went back to school today, DS2 starts school next Tuesday, but desperately wanted to start with his brother today and is upset that he can't-lets hope he continues to be so keen.
Not long until you meet your little girl now
Keep me updated

EdieMcredie · 05/09/2007 10:21

I know! Ill be 39 weeks tomorrow. Have had a few false alarms and am suffering with an incredibly itchy and sore stomach at the moment but all good apart from those things. Just getting incredibly impatient!

Hope you are doing well Lynne xxxx

lynnec · 10/09/2007 22:31

Jossiejump · 16/09/2007 22:29

Congratulations Edie-just read your post on the due in September thread, I love the name Millie, but is yet another one that would clash with my surname!
Lynne hope you are ok
I'm doing fine, bump has grown massively almost overnight, but at 31 weeks pg I still only weigh 6lbs more than pre pregnancy , mind you I was massive before I got pg

EdieMcredie · 18/09/2007 08:51

Thanks Josie! Meant to come straight on here but just haven't had the time!

Well my contractions started at about half one in the morning of the 13th. Put TENS on but then took it off as it was annoying me!Eventually went to hospital but was only 3cm so put on ward. Gradually contractions built and mum and dp helped me into bath and I started on gas and air. After a while they became pretty bad and I wasn't dilating so I opted for pethidine which I wish I hadn't now because it did nothing for me and made Millie tired.

Things started to get really awful when contractions were just rolling into eachother and so painful. I was so tired, hadn't been sleeping well due to the bloody rash anyway. I had a chat with mum and dp and opted for an epidural. dp's mother then came up unexpectedly and amazingly they let her stay which was lovely as her and my mum are really good friends and I love her too.

From the epidural going in things were really magical. We were put in a lovely dimly lit room with a gorgeous midwife who chatted the whole time to us. I had to have a drip to speed things up as contractions started to stop and of course I was on the monitor but it was helpful to see baby's HB all the time, esp for dp.

Pushing her out was AMAZING! The best thing ever. I loved it. dp took over and told me when to push which was lovely.

Millie is stunning, I know everyone says that but she is just brilliant. Finally got the hang of BFing as well!

Hope you are both well, Josie, not long to go now! I envy you being so near to labour, wish I could do it again!

lynnec · 20/09/2007 12:40

Well done edie and congratulations!!! x

Jossie getting excited for you now How are you keeping???

Things well here...Kayla's still sleeping through the night,so thats giving me a decent sleep...shes now into 3-6months clothes even some 3-6months dont fit her!!!!!

Hope you are both keeping well x

Jossiejump · 22/09/2007 13:24

Lynne you are lucky with Kayla sleeping through the night-I know DS2 did from 9 weeks and it made such a difference.
Edie hope all is still going ok.
I hope that my birth is a "pleasurable" experience -was very traumatic with DS1, 22 hours, followed by a post partum haemhorrage of 4 pts of blood, so felt dreadful. DS2's was better, although induced by drip so v.painful. I'm going to yoga once a week to try to help things this time as both the boys were back to back. Baby is still breech atm, but plenty of time to go, I felt it trying to move round last night in bed, so got on to all fours to try to help it, but it didn't manage to do it then.
Went to my SIL baby shower last night, she is due 4 weeks before me. Been really busy so haven't been on MN much.
Best wishes

lynnec · 22/09/2007 13:42

Jossie i was induced by drip also, did find it quite painfull..i found the birthing ball very helpfull...got baby into position quite quick, also helped with early contractions...unfortunetly i had to come off the ball as they had to monitor lo and take blood from lo head to see how stressed she was, also didnt help there was no doc to give me epidural for well over an hour!!!! but we always get there in the end no matter how it goes it has helped alot with Kayla sleeping through the night, and being very content, she just sleeps and laughs I hpe you are well jossie...not long to go now

Edie, hows you and the lo doing??? Hope you are both well x

EdieMcredie · 24/09/2007 11:53

Not too bad thankyou. She wakes once or sometimes twice in night for feed. Lynne, are you breast feeding? I have found it quite difficult but we are getting there...

LO has projectile vomited twice which worried me but think it's normal!

Hi Josie, hope that LO turns!
