Just back from the hosp....didnt go well at first, i was told theres no way im getting induced due to having such a good pg, the only way theyd induce if lo was stressed or had very little fluid surrounding it. Monitored lo for 20mins and all was well, got scan...had loads and loads of fluid surrounding it, was told its head was engaged but it wasnt going anywhere due to the amount of fludid surrounding it, it was very comfy were it was, then up for the internal were mw said it was my only hope since everything else was good for them and lo but not for me wanting iduced, she said if my cervix was ready then shed book me in for induction, and it was!!!So due to cervix and lo being ready shes booked me in for Sat 4pm and will induce early Sunday Shes given me a membrane sweep to if that works first..so' we'll see!!

Hope you are both ok.

Good news-they'd better induce you as I'm going away for 10 days on Tuesday and I want some news by then!!!

Jossiejump · 02/08/2007 22:11

Edie
Meant to say earlier-Happy birthday!!!!!!!!!
Sorry would have done it earlier, but I'm still spending most of my time on the loo!!!!

lynnec · 02/08/2007 22:23

Whoops...sorry eddie...im the same Happy birthday! x

jossie have you had the membrane sweep done yourself???

Tonight i have quite bad cramp on lower back, not sure if this is the beginning, or just normal after a sweep.

Hope you are both well x

Jossiejump · 03/08/2007 18:24

No, my friend had it done, not sure about the aches.
I went into labour spontaneously with DS1, but had my waters broken during labour. With DS2 I was induced by drip, but due to the fact that they had to get me going quickly as I'm GBS, my waters had leaked and he had to be born within a certain window of time to stop GBS infection they went straight into full scale induction, with the midwife saying "you look too comfortable I'll just double the dose"!!!
I believe from friends that possary induction is a lot more subtle and gentle
Good luck

Jossiejump · 03/08/2007 20:59

Me again-just read your post on the due in July thread, I assume that the tablet they mean is the pessary, if that's the cae don't swallow it!!

lynnec · 03/08/2007 22:22

Jossie, im not sure as i didnt get a tablet when induced with ds, so dont have a clue, with ds they broke my waters and told me to come back when in labour, which was next day. This time ive to go in at 4pm sat and waters broken 8am sunday so not sure whats thats about.

Jossiejump · 03/08/2007 22:38

Good luck and best wishes, soon you'll meet your LO

lynnec · 04/08/2007 12:36

Hi edie, hope you are well.

I was booked in for the sat as you know, they inserted the hormone tablet to break my waters that afternoon but it didnt work, i was told id be taken down at 8am sunday for waters to be broken however on sat night they told me there was no beds down in maternity so id have to wait, in the mean time theyd give me another tablet to see if waters broke .. that way the labour ward would have to take me (so really they were under staffed) second tablet didnt work either, got third tablet sunday afternoon about 3pm started to feel very light contractions, i was examined at 5pm and told i could go to labour ward and theyd break my waters.

Broke waters around 6pm ( a wee bit uncomfortable but ok) soon started getting contractions. Dh was called and arrived around 7pm, by 8 contractions were starting to get quite painfull but still kept jumping on b/ball which was a great help until 8.30 when they told me there were signs of baby being stressed, so they would have monitor it and take blood sample from its head.

By 9pm they pain was getting too much asked for pain/rel i was offered epidural or morpine opted for epid, was then told no dr avaialable for that as he was in an emergency section..took morphine which did nothing at all

9.30 told dr had to go to another emergency section and shouldnt be too long...he arrived around 10pm

she arrived at 3.29 but was taken up to intensive care immediatley, we were both worried sick as she hadnt cried but could see she was breathing, got out the labour ward at 7.30...went up to see her, was told shed be in there over night and she was doing well.

Monday woke up around 12noon went up to see her, they said she was fine and could come to ward with me, shes a brilliant baby, just eats sleeps and smiles...never cries...she sleeps 12 till 8am which is brilliant.

Im going to try and post a few pics now, see how i get on

lynnec · 09/08/2007 22:06

Edie, will post photos tomorrow, though dh had put them onto computer.

Hope you are well x

EdieMcredie · 10/08/2007 19:54

Oh wow Lynne sounds like a bit of an ordeal in parts. How come she had to go to ITU? Glad all is well now though. Can't believe she is here and you have a little girl!!

They may want to induce me too...

OP posts:
lynnec · 11/08/2007 19:20

Hope you are keeping well edie...

Kayla was showing signs of being stressed during labour, this is why she was taken away to icu, once she was back down they said there was no way she was a stressed baby...shes so,so content, sleeping right through the night and never cries, so ive been very lucky!!

Ive posted a photo, only one as ive still to sort out my other ones.

How are you keeping??? When do you go back to the hosp?

I guess Jossie is away on holiday...ive not had time to catch up.

Take care! x

EdieMcredie · 13/08/2007 17:11

She's very pretty!

How are you finding it?

OP posts:
lynnec · 14/08/2007 10:50

Shes a brilliant baby so things are alot easier...once shes been fed she'll lie in her pram for an hour or so just watching a nd listening to everything, then fall asleep, i am still very tiered though, up around 7.30-8.30, get her organgised then the house work, ironing, floorsetc, etc before i know it its feeding time again, after second feed i usually take her out for the day, usually go for long walks to try and loose my belly...its working so far, back in to my clothes i wore before pg.

How are you keeping?
Still enjoying mat leave?
When are you back at the hosp?
Hope your keeping well. x

EdieMcredie · 14/08/2007 17:28

Yes im still loving being on mat leave thanks, catching up with friends or hanging out with mum and going out for lunch etc. Plus the lie ins and afternoon naps are lovely too!

Had 2nd GTT this morning and got scan Thursday morning to find out if she is big for dates but looking on here I don't really trust scanning too much. I have read lots of stories of them being very inaccurate and so im going to avoid induction as much as I can.

Sounds like you are doing very well to be doing all that housework with a newborn! Well done!

OP posts:
lynnec · 17/08/2007 18:45

Edie, how did the scan go???

EdieMcredie · 18/08/2007 12:05

It was really good thanks. They think she weighs about 7lb 8 at the moment but because she is doing so well they don't feel any need to induce. My placenta is apparently just doing a very good job in nourishing her, there doesn't seem to be any problems so that's good. Also my GTT was normal so everything was good. Doctor was really nice and just said you have a big healthy baby!!

We got a pic of her face too!

How is your little one?

Jossiejump · 18/08/2007 20:39

Lynne congratulations, typical I was on holiday and missed the announcement!! She looks gorgeous.
Hope you and DH are feeling ok, very envious that you are at this point. How big was she?
Once again congratulations!!!!!
