Checking in for Strike!

Glad it went well today apes.

SPIDER HORROR!!!!

Just saw a MASSIVE one crawl up the wall behind the tv. Then it fell down and now I DONT KNOW WHERE IT IS. Shock Shock Shock

It could be anywhere. Waiting to launch while Im watching Strike. And crawl in my hair.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2017 20:57

I read a thread about that sort of thing Madame - apparently the only thing to do is burn down your house. Sorry about that.

Am not going to be watching Strike Live - DS not even in PJs yet, FFS...

MadamedeChevreuse · 17/09/2017 21:02

Right. Thanks for the advice helen. Sounds proportionate.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2017 21:05

Obviously, make sure that PattyCat is out before you do that. And DP/DS.

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2017 21:05

Yy Madame, just burn the house down and move. You may need equipment if you're hoping to have a confrontation. I've used a magazine and can of hairspray combo in the past.

DH still upstairs with DS2. DS1 not ready either. I'm watching Electric Dreams: The Hood Maker. Holliday's in it. Richard Madden as well I think.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2017 21:08

Electric Dreams is being recorded too....

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2017 21:54

What I saw of Electric Dreams was very good. Recording the rest.

Enjoying Strike

Where's Wicked today?

FancyFancy · 17/09/2017 22:13

Or maybe Patty can spring to your rescue madame? I find ScaredyCat is excellent at dealing with spiders - she eats them Grin

As the company was underage helen the smut & innuendo was pretty much non-existant.....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2017 22:20

at cats eating spiders

Awww re. Strike. And they all lived happily ever after...

Hope WW isn't re-enacting Midsomer scenarios Confused

Badders08 · 17/09/2017 22:29

Ah....we used to feed daddy long legs to our dog....😁
I've just booked a GofT tour in NI for xmas for next year 😁🐺❄🔥🗡🛡🏹

Badders08 · 17/09/2017 22:29

...for me and ds1...
Squeeeeeeeee

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2017 22:42

I seem to recall LetUsCat enjoying going after spiders and everything else

Strike was fab. I know Matthew's supposed to be a dickhead but I'm taken aback at how much I loathe him whenever he's on the screen. That actor's doing a great job Grin

GofT tour sounds exciting Badderz!

I'm just, er, heading back to the previous page to make sure I didn't miss anything in Helen's posts earlier tonight. I shall need to study them carefully.

Excellent plan Badders You can expand that theme do one per year for a couple of years if you throw in Iceland and, um... Spain? Morroco? Somewhere hot and sunny anyway.

Hope Madame is not now the owner of a smoking wreck of a house, and that the spider has had the good sense to FTFO.

*LetUs' - do you need a night re-cap?

Ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh look at the pretty!

Badders08 · 17/09/2017 23:13

Dh has already suggested Croatia and Iceland :)

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2017 23:16

Wenches could do advance visits Badderz.

Always up for a thorough recap Helen. hope Jamie and Ross haven't overworked their tools with all that scything.

Morning all christ it's early

Just had a quick catch up, and pmsl at you all.

  1. As well as plenty of friction and a good grip on the shaft, it's important to plant the pointy end firmly in the hole before levering up and over.
  1. Loving the [ball], I mean Glitterball and the notion of a deathstar glitterball...Imagine, all of the world's conflicts sorted out with a quick blast of unicorns and bubbles and fluff. Sad and Angry re. Spain
Badders08 · 18/09/2017 07:14

I'll pop some in a jiffy bag elky

Badders08 · 18/09/2017 07:16

Hmmm
Yes
I didn't enjoy silkworm as much as cuckoo but I haven't read the books
I liked it when he have her his coat
And kissed her hand (wrist??)

Badders08 · 18/09/2017 07:16

How's the leg elk?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/09/2017 08:00

Morning all. I am checking what club DS has today. I'm not blethering on MN...

Thoroughly agree with Elk re. the story feeling rushed though (and how did they know where to look for the typewriter that the culprit used?). Career of Evil is either going to have a hell of a lot of the book cut out, or into's going to be completely inexplicable & confusing Confused.

The Internet is a wonderful thing - I'd never have thought of basting oiling up treating the chickens with 'crisp and dry' either (that just doesn't sound good for them however I write it...), though it makes sense re. washing up liquid to kill off aphids so...

Best get on - haven't actually finished breakfast, or done lunch for DS. Because all I'm doing is checking school clubs. Definitely.

LetUsPrey · 18/09/2017 08:08

Morning wenches.

Totally agree it should have been three episodes. The ending felt very rushed. And yes, concerned for Career of Evil also being two parts.

Knew the hand kissing would be popular Grin

Morning, rather a disturbed night as DS is ill Sad Am supposed to be out for the day, so will either stay home or go out feeling like a bad mum! He apparently is 'well able to look after myself' which is missing the point that he doesn't have to Independent teens!

Loving the dream letus - an otter on a lead - squeeeeeee Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 18/09/2017 08:51

Morning. The spider has disappeared I think, no sign now anyway. So maybe the cat ate it. [proud emoticon] Thanks for all your emotional support at that difficult time. Grin

Yep I really liked Silkworm up to the last 15 minutes, when they suddenly solved the case by a) finding a typewriter cassette and b) walking into a restaurant. Confused Confused Confused Wtaf???

Shame it had to be so rushed at the end, like with the first one.

Are viewers who havent read the books not even more confused? It is getting good reviews no? Im a bit mystified by this tbh. Not that I want it to get bad reviews, cos otherwise it is very good.

Is it that, if you watch a detective show on tv (ie without reading a book version) you have lower expectations of understanding the plot / who dunnit than if you read a detective book? Because of the medium, like?

ApricotCrush · 18/09/2017 09:19

Morning wenches!

Eeeeek Madame, I would have left the house. I couldn't sit in a room when I know there's a spider on the loose.

Lol at Supergran folder. Grin

Yes, oddly sexy. Is she mad? Confused

Hope WW is alright.

Right, The Silkworm. I know who did it but I'm completely confused as to why and how, although I read the book. I think I totally lost the plot with the rooftop party and the suit and the James Bond thing going on. It's sensory overload, I can't watch and listen at the same time. Needs a rewatch. Definitely rushed at the end, putting it into two episodes was crazy.

Loved the chip in the soup, his coat round her shoulders, the hand kiss, er, can't think of anything else.

Really ought to go and sort some washing out.

Have good day all.
