Ooooh Helen I hate this season for the spiders. DH will suddenly say in the middle of a TV programme 'go out of the room' and I know exactly why. That's reminded me to spray around the doors and windows to try to dissuade them from coming in.

An all day play date? I feel a bit faint and nauseous. Hope it's gone well Helen and you're not currently inhaling a bottle of anything alcoholic.

No hot and sunny here either Apricot so we can be together.

We had a big spider stroll across the living room a few nights ago. I think it had let itself in with a key. Fortunately DS2 was in bed asleep (although he's like MrApricot and will say "don't look over there mum, I'll just get dad"). DS1 learned some new and interesting combinations of words that night as I encouraged DH in rather exclamatory terms to remove the beastie.

Was covering reception today again and the Strike trailer came on. That was the highlight of my day.

Play date went from 10am to about 5:30pm, all good. They got on fine, I was left in peace (mostly) and the loons went swimming in the sea when we went to the beach. Note to self. Never believe small children when they say they don't want to go in the sea - always make them wear swimming stuff, just in case. Had two soggy DCs sitting on bin-liners and a waterproof jacket on the drive back home

I am currently wrestling with flower arranging... Am online to find out what a particular plant looks like so I can try and find a substitute in the garden Not so I can chat on MN - nope, not me. Looking at plants that's all. Nothing to see here DH, move along now... (I have used curry plant in the arrangement. My hands stink, and so will the venue. Bwahahahahaha)

Knackered! Really stressful at work today. Also stressed out about something that turned out to be nothing so I wasted a lot of energy on that.
Had a tiny glass of wine and think I might pass out any second now

Plus Good Omens arrived a little while ago, and I'm still reading The Handmaid's Tale, so it makes sense to get library books out

I would be too if I actually did any. I must make an effort. I was hoping the recent holiday would kickstart my brain into reading mode, but I think I'm going to have to sort of schedule a time and make myself put down the iPad and pick up a book!

I'm reading The Cursed Child at the moment, it's a script, so it's a bit like speed reading - cuts right to the action with not much description.

Have finally sat down, chores done & groceries packed away. DD is noisily watching tv with a friend. Still it's Friday tomorrow & then I have a week off work

Nothing actually booked yet, but are planning to do local stuff & generally treat ourselves a bit - plenty of eating out rather than cooking
