Back from another night at the athletics , saw Jess Ennis get her medal for 2011. The crowd has been fab - utterly determined to have a good time. Had a great view of teh women's pole vault - when the Greek woman won, they played stereotypicial Greek music & she did a little jig - that went down very well

Glad helen is back safely and that letus has a plan for keeping an eye on the bite.

Poldark was jolly good. Don't how your recording thingy is set up but you might need to get it off iPlayer as the athletics over ran on BBC1 so it was late starting. We recorded the news as well though to get the end of it. Demelza, Elizabeth, Morwenna, and Rowella were all fab last night.

Glad to hear that RICE has worked for LetUs's ankle. Though I think you should repeat it as often as possible, as a preventative measure as well.

I've more or less dealt with the holiday washing so have been treating myself today to S1 of Poldark. Am partway through ep4. There's been skinny dipping, fighting, much grubbiness, shouting, kissing, and topless scything. This is my reward in advance of school uniform shopping tomorrow.

Just phoned surgery to double check my appointment time tomorrow with the nurse. Oh no, she says, no nurses in tomorrow. She checked and an appointment is there but with a GP who doesn't do the check ups. So when I phoned a couple of weeks ago to specifically get a date when I'm not at work (hey, I know how to have fun on my holidays) and asked for the nurse and said what it was for, it's been ballsed up. I know these things happen but I now have to wait until the middle of September as I need an appointment as late in the day as possible. FFS.

Just bracing myself. Ross is about to take his top off and get Demelza on the bed.

I currently have an irritating work project with an unreasonable deadline and 'king useless people at the other end of things. FFAS. Am trying to compose tactful message saying that I can't meet their deadline because they've only just told me that it's 2 days away, and I can't supply the things they want because they haven't told me which things they want and I'm not bloody psychic. And no, I don't want to take on another project from them just now because they are this one is a sodding pain in the backside. Or maybe I shall just leave my out of office on so they don't know I've actually seen the emails On second thoughts, that may not work because I think I've emailed them about something else. Fail...

I listened to last week's Holly Grainger interview on Chris Evans this morning - it consisted of him saying what he thought was going on in the first episode, and her agreeing with him. And them both saying how great TB is, and JK Rowling. But nothing new or particularly interesting tbh (apart from someone from The Waterboys interjecting that since her character is Robin, he'd like to see the plot take a turn into superhero territory). Someone on twitter asked why TB didn't do the publicity. I reckon he has a rider that says he doesn't have to get up before 10am unless it's for actual filming That's what I'd do.

Anyway, DS is having fun playing with friends and I need to compose that tactful rant email....
