Uniform shopping done with minimum fuss thankfully, although DS1's one jumper cost more than both of DS2's together.

Got a Jenny Colgan book from the library so I might put Handmaid's Tale on hold while I read the library book.

Weather is a bit crap here so I can't throw encourage DS2 to play outside which means I can't continue with Poldark.

Which book is it Letus?

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 13:56

Summer at Little Beach Street Bakery, which I think is the one you've just got

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/08/2017 14:12

I think that's the one after mine. Another book by her is Where have all the boys gone, about a woman from London that goes to a small town in Scotland and discovers there's a lot of men there and also has a grumpy scruffy boss Smile

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 17:16

The Scottish town I was in recently wasn't really Fluffy Fiction-esque, although I can't speak for any of the bosses Grin

Watching some Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's series two so Angel is currently evil.

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 17:31

Giles just called Angel a pillock GrinGrin

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/08/2017 17:54

I love Buffy Smile

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 17:58

Ah Angel turned good right at the end and then Buffy killed him anyway. Worst break up ever!

ApricotCrush · 08/08/2017 18:10

Evening!

Never watched any of Buffy the Vampire Slayer although that was part of my username in another life. After the cat of course. Grin

Very boring day. DH has now gone off to play golf with DS. No idea when he's going to get a meal, but I shall cook something for myself probably egg, chips and beans.

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 18:25

Buffy (cat Buffy) is the original NinjaCat!

Mmmmm at egg, chips and beans

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 08/08/2017 20:06

Grin at Buffy NinjaCat.

It was more like omelette, chips and beans, I broke the egg. Sad

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 20:28

That's one of life's little disappointments - breaking the yolk of the egg before you fry it Sad

DH has gone out to watch the football at his BIL's house so I won't be getting any tedious commentary.

I'm watching the athletics. Both DC are upstairs. It's suspiciously quiet but I can't be arsed to go up.

Giles just called Angel a pillock Grin I loved Buffy And Giles is quite correct about Angel.

I've never come across a small Scottish town with lots of eligible men in it. I think she's made it up Hmm Grin

I have been wrestling with the unachievable deadline.... arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhgggggggggghhhhhhhhh (etc)
I'm going to stop now and get DS into bed and cook tea retreat into my eminently preferable deluded fantasy life

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 21:56

You should wrestle with someone something else Helen

I'm singing - in my head, don't worry - Buffy the NinjaCat to the tune of Champion the Wonder Horse

Kyle Langford did alright there with a personal best but a shame that he just missed out.

The men's pole vault competition is fascinating. How do you find out you're good at pole vault? Must take some bottle to have that first go.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/08/2017 23:01

Argh.. been watching Gane of Thrones. V good, but I'm working away for the next two days and I need to pack, sort out sandwiches, etc etc etc arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

If Kyle Langford had just gone a stride earlier he'd have got Bronze Sad still - at least he got a PB.

Am going to contemplate wresting the HBF of my choice while I get stuff done... Grin

FancyFancy · 08/08/2017 23:07

Back from work late today as we had a do after work, so am drinking tea & catching up with the athletics - mmmm, men's pole vault to look forward to.....

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2017 23:44

Good luck with getting HBFs/stuff done Helen

I could do the end bit of the pole vault. The throwing oneself backwards on to a huge mattress. I reckon I'd be good at that, with the right incentive of course. Enjoy the events Fancy.

Morning wenches.

Today is supposed to be warm and dry. The ground is wet although it's not raining at the moment, and I wouldn't say it's warm. Ah well. Suppose it'll perk up.

Blob is here so I just feel like lying on the settee and not doing anything much. Stuff to do with the DC however if they'll get showered and dressed

In the meantime I shall recline.

CakeCakeBrew for Letus

LetUsPrey · 09/08/2017 12:07

Thanks Wicked.

Weather is brightening so have told DS2 we'll go for a walk in a bit (slowly though as ankle still a bit ropey).

In the meantime I'm watching Brave.

Meant to say, I can recommend watching Urban Secrets presented by Alan Cumming. He walks round various cities, finding out lots of secrets and hidden places and the history of it. There's eight episodes. The one I saw today was London - St Paul's to Soho.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 09/08/2017 12:10

Should have said it was on Sky Atlantic. All eight are on download if you can access them.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 09/08/2017 14:06

Afternoon all.

That sounds interesting LetUs, I like Alan Cumming. Don't have Sky Atlantic though. Angry

Trying to do some grooming for tomorrow and people won't leave me alone. Popping round when I've got my hair in rollers, calling me, phoning when I'm trying to mend a horrific broken nail and don't want to get superglued to the phone. Argh! Just go away. Although I don't suppose anyone will be remotely interested in whether I've shaved my legs.

LetUsPrey · 09/08/2017 17:48

Apricot Grin I always shave my legs when, for instance, I'm going to a gig to see, for example, Paella. Because you never know

DS2 has been great today. Chilled and helpful. DS1 is pissing me off though because he's being 15 bloody lazy, and sodding cheeky bordering on rude. Send Gibbs.
