Just a bit of fluff Smile

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2017 18:57

Suspect fluff might be what I need after finishing Career of Evil and after I've read Handmaid's Tale!

I'm waiting for the next Lizzy/Diesel book by Janet Evanovich. Actually might check if that's in the pipeline.

No news when the fourth book's out but it has reminded me that it's called the Wicked Series Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 04/08/2017 19:22

Some of Alexandra Potter's books are quite good fluff, and some are shite, my favourite is Me and Mr Darcy, it's about an American woman who joins a Jane Austen tour in England and bumps in to Mr Darcy. I read it several times Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 04/08/2017 19:22

Oh, I'm flattered Grin

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2017 20:00

I'll add that one to the list

They're very good if you've not already read them.

We're watching the athletics. It's a women's race at the moment. It's like looking in a mirror

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 04/08/2017 20:02

Yeah, I know Grin

ApricotCrush · 04/08/2017 20:29

I really ought to read more. I haven't read anything since the Strike books. I don't seem to have time, although I don't have a job or kids, well not all the time. Confused

Just realised the new series of Top of the Lake is already two episodes down and we didn't record it. Will have to search on iPlayer, although reviews seem to be divided. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2017 20:51

Apricot it took me months and months to read Career of Evil. I'm hoping this holiday will kick start my reading ability because my concentration seems to be shot to shit.

I saw part of the first episode of Top of the Lake. I thought it was good but a bit disturbing for want if a better word.

Usain Bolt's on. D'you know what? I probably would.

I'm catching up with the athletics - skipping through all the waffly bits & just watching the action, so I'd better hide until I've caught up with the rest of you.......

You can have Bolt letus - I spotted a nice Finnish hurdler in Rio 2016, will look up him to see if he's racing in London. When I've caught up & it's safe to Google that is Grin

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2017 21:53

Moro's your chap I think. Haven't been able to find if he's competing.

LetUsPrey · 05/08/2017 08:44

Morning wenches.

I did wonder but the picture of the Finn was very tiny on my phone screen. Rasmus Magi then. Grin

Did you watch the rest of the events?

Home today. Need to pack which shouldn't take long as most of it is now washing and then we have to play car boot tetris to include the extra stuff we've accumulated. And because we're leaving today, the sun is out of course.

Morning all.

Yes, Career of Evil is a bit hard going, there are too many characters and I kept getting them mixed up and having to go back to check.

Watched both episodes of Top of the Lake. It is somewhat strange, but the fact that I managed to keep awake for two hours is testimony to the fact that it kept my interest going. Hmm

Have a good journey home LetUs.

Hope everyone has a good day. We seem to be going to a machinery Trade Show this morning. Confused

FancyFancy · 05/08/2017 10:20

Morning - have a fun day apricot!

I have seen all of last night's athletics letus - go Mo! Grin What a fabulous race - assuming he still races the 5000m, I will be there next weekend

Today, I have a mini-meet as the helen family are staying here tonight (FancyCat will be excited, she has a soft spot for MrHelen) & this evening I will be at the athletics watching letus's favourite sprinter.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/08/2017 13:02

Machinery trade show Apes? Soubds really boring, do you look at tractors and stuff like that?

I thought I was FancyCat's favourite Envy

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/08/2017 14:17

Completely knackered. Been cleaning, I even dusted a bit Confused

ApricotCrush · 05/08/2017 15:21

Oh, love Mo, must catch up on the race.

Yes, tractors, welders, generators, that sort of thing WW. Actually it was a sort of county show, so there was livestock, bouncy castles, go-carts, the lot. We went along to support son-in-law whose company was exhibiting there.

We only stayed about an hour and then had a meal at a pub on the way home. So now I'm a bit trollied shattered and am going to have a kip.

Fancy, have a lovely time with FamilyHelen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/08/2017 16:40

Hurrah! We are back in the land of the internet (as opposed to the 'internot' as the land of no internet is henceforth known) And watching last night's Athletics (which I may have slept through yesterday) - yay for Mo Farrah.

Yesterday, while we were in the internot, we were in a bookshop, and DH stuck this under my nose (from the LadyBird book 'The Wife')

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 05/08/2017 19:02

Probably not thanks WW, I've now got a stonking headache. Shouldn't drink at lunchtime.

Glad you're back safely LetUs.

Also at internot.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/08/2017 19:07

Brew for Apes

LetUsPrey · 05/08/2017 19:10

Love Internot! Grin

Hope FamilyHelen visit is going well and that DS is feeling better. We have those books, both The Wife and The Husband. I'm going to have to re-read them - love the Outlander comparison!

Have a great time at the athletics Fancy. LittleSis is going tonight too. Just tell Bolt I'm chasing him, that'll shift him.

Steady on with that dusting Wicked, don't want to overdo it. You'll need an HBF to assist with your relaxation.
