Cripes! March already!?

Have things been quiet this part of the year, or is it just me? Only had one call for a casting a couple of weeks ago and couldn't make it. Otherwise - nada!

Lets hope March picks up!

rebeccasmum010107 - you are best to go with one of teh london agencies for your children. the other nearest agencies for you will prob be Norwich or going the other direction will be dk in sheffield. as you have a good train route i would personally go for agencies such as bruce and brown, kids london, urban angels or mot. bb do not charge an assessment fee, the model book is optional , they will take i believe around £25 from your first job to cover the web fee. as an agent they get some of the top jobs and the owner and her team are very likeable. i suppose it all depends on agegroup etc of your child as some get more work than others for different age groups. good luck

rebeccasmum010107 · 22/03/2007 12:06

thanks julie who is dk in sheffield and who are in norwich ?
we have sent off to bruce brown and mot. urban angels are not considering at the moment and have to post to kids london which will do today or tomorrow.
rebecca is 3 months old who is the best for this age ?

ThisEasterTime · 22/03/2007 12:30

Thanks totally - have put him in something easy to strip off in! My concern is once you take his clothes off its struggle to get back on!

FooFooTrue · 22/03/2007 12:47

Hi all, did anyone here go to the ELC casting (last weds, i think??) and has anyone heard back?

julie4travel · 22/03/2007 12:55

rebeccasmum- there was a couple in norwich sandra reynolds etc. personally i would wait and hear on those top agents first. if unsuccessful there is lots of others yet you may have to pay out. albas website names and shames bad agencies and also puts a rated agencies. link is below. i think most agencies would snap up a little baby for their books. some agents charge set up fees yet get the work such as rascals, ts etc. good luck. i personally chose london agents for my kiddies and location wise i am not to far from you. good luck

julie4travel · 22/03/2007 12:57

julie4travel · 22/03/2007 12:58

hi quad - have your kiddies had much work recently? i have only just found this thread too. only pop on now and then nowadays

BigmummaL · 22/03/2007 13:00

TotallyFloaty - My DS is 11.5 months.

At the Mamas & Papas casting DS had to try on a cashmere babygrow, but it was for 3 - 6 months and he wears 9 - 12 months! I was a bit annoyed as although the grow was stretchy they had his details on what age group clothing he wore and whilst I was there I saw 9 - 12 month clothing so couldn't understand why he wasn't put in something that would have fit properly! Found out the same day he hadn't got it as the shoot was the following day.

we've had to turn a few things down, due to illness unfortunately, had a Dora the explorer casting last week but havem't heard anything, doubt we will now. Didn't help that my dd decided in the waiting room that she was too old for dora

julie4travel · 22/03/2007 13:19

quad bless your dd - mine would have loved that yet she is still very much at the dora stage, we have the dora dolls house with all the extras - seems to take over the play room. ds not even had a casting this year , dd only had 2, yet seems to be getting busier so fingers crossed

quadrophenia · 22/03/2007 16:12

its always phases IME don't worry about it, sometimes its all very busy and sometimes its so quiet, I quite like the unpredictability of it all

ThisEasterTime · 22/03/2007 18:42

I went to Mama's & Papa's casting today but was just photos no fittings required. They took 2 photos and he said 'thats the one' (as in the picture) I must have been there for a max of 30 seconds.

His details were taped onto a table and he just had to stand at the side of it.Wasn't expecting it to be so quick. They were loaded up to PC as at the side of him and that was it!

totallyfloaty35 · 22/03/2007 19:32

BIGMAMA,my dd went to that casting, its for tv/britains next top model, they put her in a huge furry snowsuit, she was boiling and they ran really late,we were there til 6;30 and another baby was there til 7;30.
Hi Quad,how is you?
Anyone going to casting tomorrow for a breastfeeding ad?

totallyfloaty35 · 22/03/2007 19:33

sorry bigmumma, keep getting your name wrong

BigmummaL · 23/03/2007 12:02

That's ok Totallyfloaty35

It was a no for DS for Mothercare but he has a casting for Blooming Marvelous on Mon. Is anyone else going along?

lizzymouse69 · 23/03/2007 12:10

Hi BigmummaL
We have just had a call from UA for the bloomin job. Any idea where it is?? Thanks

BigmummaL · 23/03/2007 12:27

Hi Lizzymouse69, No, all I know at the moment is that it's at 10.15am. How old is your lo?

goingfor3 · 23/03/2007 12:27

Quad, what was the Dora casting for as we just had a are you free for the magazine shoot next week call.

Lolly68 · 23/03/2007 12:45

Just had a call from Kids re Blooming Marvellous casting on Monday. Cant do it because shoot date is when we are holiday - can you believe it!? Nothing for ages and then something comes in.

quadrophenia · 23/03/2007 12:46

sounds like the same one, congrats x

goingfor3 · 23/03/2007 12:50

DD didn't have a casting so maybe it was for something different. Was yours for photos or an ad? They needed to make sure she had all of her teeth.

quadrophenia · 23/03/2007 12:51

an add, madeline lost both her front teeth so that makes me feel better hehe x

goingfor3 · 23/03/2007 13:11

This is for photos, DD doesn't do TV work. She's been asked a couple of times if she still had her teeth. I'm not holding out much hope as she hasn't had any work yet this year!

BigmummaL · 23/03/2007 13:20

What a shame Lolly68, hope it picks up when you get back.
