Cripes! March already!?

Have things been quiet this part of the year, or is it just me? Only had one call for a casting a couple of weeks ago and couldn't make it. Otherwise - nada!

Lets hope March picks up!

ANd if you as the parent are the chaperone on a shoot(as opposed to employing a matron)you immediately have the responsibility of ensuring thatyour child is licensed if they are required to.

Hi Michaelad, weve been with Scallywags since june and even tho they are really prof and friendly people they havent called us about anything since October!!! I have 2 boys there and so the fees I paid them - total about £700 -havent even been dented, especially as its cost over £40 to get to any castings as they are in London. When i have been to any casting there is always ones from Urban Angels there and i reckon if i do sign them up to anywhere again i would try them as their fees seem very low. Hope you hear something soon

Housemum · 25/04/2007 13:48

FSS? who/what's that?

islandofsodor · 25/04/2007 14:17

A production company for a film involving lots of children where there were a few concerns about regulations not being followed.

michaelad · 25/04/2007 14:54

Thanks, crazylazydaisy! I really get on well with the people at Scallywags..I was just getting slightly worried since we basically have not had anything since January! Did receive a Green baby catalogue that he did a shoot for though..strange but fab to see your own child in a catalogue.

fingerwoman · 25/04/2007 14:55

is anyone here with cheeky kidz? ds has been with them for nearly a year and we have heard nothing from them.
no e-mails, no phone calls, not a single casting.

is this usual???

Lolly68 · 25/04/2007 15:30

Fingermum - have you phoned them?

crazylazydaisy · 25/04/2007 20:19

Well done you michealad - in a catalogue, that must be lovely to see, sadly i wouldnt know ! Mine not even been in a free leaflet lol . Glad its working out for you though. Let us know any more and i can look out for them x

HOUSEMUM/JULIE4TRAVEL thanks for your quick replies. Will just have to wait and see how things go now, as it was 2 wks ago that he was accepted with KL, he was with other agencies but it seemed there was better out there and finally things seem to be moving in the right direction. Im going to sound really stupid now but what does DD e.t.c.mean I havent a clue, yes Im an exdancer!!

Housemum · 25/04/2007 23:55

if you look at the top of any thread page there is a bit called "acronym list" which should make it clearer! DD is dear/darling daughter, DS is on, DH husband, DP partner. You'll get the hang of it eventually!

yackertyyack · 26/04/2007 08:37

welcome dancerdeb and good luck with KL. How old is your little one?

michaelad · 26/04/2007 08:53

If I decide not to renew my contract w. Scallywags in September, who do you think I should apply to? We live in Essex but I can get into London by train no probs. Ds2 is 2 yrs (pics on profile)

marymay · 26/04/2007 09:56

hi michaelad...bruce and brown ,kids london, urban angels and mot are very good.
it has been very quiet for my dd and ds so far this year.a lot of people are saying the same .
but things are starting to pick up so maybe stick with them for a while.

dancerdeb · 26/04/2007 12:25

Hiya Yachertyyack, my little boy is 5yrs old and he has been with Alphabekidz and bizzykidz for the past year, and has now moved to KL, what agency are you with and are you happy with them? and how old is your little one or ones! soz loads of questions!

fingerwoman · 26/04/2007 15:13

no, haven't phoned them. tbh he got on their books and i don't even think about it that often (it isn't a big part of our lives!).
this is the first agency he has been with so we're novices really

julie4travel · 27/04/2007 08:48

fingerwomen - if i havent heard anything for about 3 months i normally drop a friendly email to update my kids sizes and just ask if they have been put forward for anything recently etc. it could be your child has been put forward for stuff yet been unsuccessful. we can go for a couple of months without a thing to get a couple of castings in the same week (bit like waiting for buses!)

fingerwoman · 27/04/2007 19:06

ahh ok thanks, i think i'll do that

dancerdeb · 02/05/2007 10:08

Hello is there anybody out there? it seems you have all dissapeared since I joined your thread!! Would love to have a chat with other KL mums, and have loads of questions to ask, hopefully someone will answer this new recruit!

Lolly68 · 02/05/2007 10:37

Hello dancerdeb - my DD is with KL. She is 15months.

dancerdeb · 02/05/2007 11:00

Hello lolly68, so glad someone has answered me! My ds is 5 and has just been accepted by KL, actually 3 weeks ago and Ive not heard anything. Hearsay says that they dont really promote the new kids only the ones in the model book and I cant see them putting my snapshots on the kids website, so how are the new children promoted, sorry just a bit eager!! My ds was with Bizzykidz and Alphabet so he has done a bit of work, I also know that you cant get any better than KL?

yackertyyack · 02/05/2007 11:55

hey dancerdeb
KL will start representing your DS as soon as you send the forms back. They will send clients his pics when his profile fits what they are after. Think 5/6 is quite a popular age so you may be getting a call soooner than you think! Did he do much with AK or BK??

nannynickers · 02/05/2007 12:08

Anyone going to the Marks & Spencer casting today?

dancerdeb · 02/05/2007 12:14

Hiya Yacketyyack, Yeah he did quite a bit, with bizzy he got down to the final 2 boys for petit filous ad, and hes done some photographic work with them, with AK hes done sony, Hasbro and NIckelodean, his last casting was with ceebeebies which we didnt get. What has your little one done? Do KL have a lot of children on their books?

I dont think KL put you in the model book until your child is 3 so with my DD they just send the photos to clients when she fits the criteria wanted.
