Cripes! March already!?

Have things been quiet this part of the year, or is it just me? Only had one call for a casting a couple of weeks ago and couldn't make it. Otherwise - nada!

Lets hope March picks up!

nannynickers, my daughter went to a M&S casting last weds and I was going to ask if anyone had heard back from them but seems they must be seeing hundreds!!

when do KL do their model book?

Hi all, what is the longest you have had to wait for payment. My dd still hasn't been paid for a job she did last May. It was through her old agency who say just say they are still waiting. Its a bit annoying as the pic has been used loades by the client. Any advice??

Dancerdeb - I think they do it once a year but dont know when I'm afraid. I'm sure they will let you know once they do though.

Foofootrue - when my DD was with ES they paid her quarterly. She is now with KL and done a job for them in December and we are still waiting for payment. I would phone the agency and say that you want payment - you shouldnt have to wait a year for it.

FooFooTrue - Oh! I thought that it was a short casting, it was only and hour slot, the ones we've been for before have been at least 4 hours if not all afternoon! Well let us know how you got on! Fingers crossed!

There is an M&S casting going on this afternoon also.

M&S must be seeing tonnes of kids, daughter went last year (didn't get it!) and I think it was a four hour time slot but last week we were given an hour to go. oh well, we can only hope!

hi, sorry was just testing as post i did last night never appeared.
have moved my eldest daughter (17months) from rascals to bizzykidz. had not even one phone call in a year, BK was really friendly on phone and decided to go with them had no's from all other agencies.
Dancerdeb- how did you find BK, you said your son had quite a few jobs with them so i'm pleased to hear that as i've not really heard much about them. well done for being accepted with KL you must be really pleased.
my youngest daughter(5months) is with scallywags, which i'm really pleased about they had a baby call so i'm pleased they took her..
anyone know much more about bizzykidz?

RUBYSTAR77 - Hi there, about BK, yeah my ds did 3 jobs with them in the last three months we were with them, having said that he was on their books for a year before he got his first job! so it was a long wait. My advice is if you are with BK go with another agency as well that is not sole rep, and you'll find being in two reputable agencies will give you more opportunities, as I was with AK as well, and he did 4 jobs with them and about 8 castings, there is also mot whom are not sole rep and apparently are very good. hope that helps. Now I have to do a bit of the old housework!! bye for now

hi dancerdeb, thanks for reply, did your son get jobs without castings with BK, by the sounds of it they choose the children straight from website.

i'm gonna stick to just BK at the moment as i'm a busy working mum of two babies and other dd with scallywags so i will see how they do for a little while, could be quiet but then again could be running to and throw every week!

To answer your questions, here we go! All the jobs my ds did with BK were with castings. The best opportunity was for petit filous we got down to the last two boys after 3 recalls and then lost out, the new petit filous ad is up and running now (yes I was gutted I will admit)! I found BK to be really nice and very helpful, they even wished my ds good luck with his new agency and if I ever needed help or advice to email them, to complicate matters my oldest ds is with them and has only had i job in 15mths, I think 16yrs is hard to find work for.
Just be patient something will turn up even if it takes a year!! I agree it would be too much to register with another agency, having the little ones as well. We havent heard anything from KL yet, early days I think, as we have been with them for only 3wks, I heard they have very few children on their books? so maybe more chance of work ? Oh forgot to answer your last question, BK is more commercial than photographic lots of tv work with them, good luck on hearing something very soon.

I had an email from BK asking for her height , i must have forgot to put it down. Thats more contact i had from last agency in a whole year!!
yeah you must of been really gutted, its the business i suppose full of excitement and disappointment! my cousin went for petit filous too, he never got it.
It is a waiting game with getting phone calls, but i'm sure your get lots with kl, how old is your son, i'm guessing around 4? yeah they take on less children, i've tried twice with both of my daughters and had no's. we might also live too far away. is your eldest with BK?

thanks for answering, it seems that there is only us two on this thread and i only joined it month ago! I have started a new May thread hoping that other mums will join in. Yeah my oldest ds is with BK and has only done one job in the past year, my youngest with KL is 5yrs old, and we havent heard anything yet! let me know when youve got a casting or a job hopefully asap!!
