or horrors of horrors.... does it really mean i yearn for 'sheer blonde' hair! and am just jealous!

I don't think so!!!

Pamina - there are six of us, and our teenagers are all adult size, so we need an mpv for the school run. (We're not on a bus or train route).
However, later in the day I'm often in it with just ds who is only 6, and sometimes feel so guilty, but what's the answer? A second, smaller car for quieter times? I don't think that would help the problem of too many cars, to add another.
If only we had better public transport links. Teenagers prefer to go about under their own steam anyway, so we'd all be happier.

My own brother is never without 3 or 4 nice new cars at any time, including the largest gas guzzler on the planet (I call it his minibus to really annoy him). He has one boy and a newborn.

Ack! Children's TV presenters, yes, Eulalia! Many of them feel they have to leap about as if they have ants in their pants, and they get excited over anything...I mean, anything. This is, I suppose, in the interests of looking spontaneous. I hate the way muffing your script, or forgetting what the next item is, or talking over your co-presenter, or generally cocking-up is seen as all part of being loveable..what happened to doing your job properly? Bring back Peter Purves and John Noakes, say I

CAM · 14/06/2002 09:37

yes tiktok why do children's presenters act like they are the children. I think the grown-up manners of our generations bp presenters was setting us a good example. Why is "stupidity" seen as admirable?

ntl deserve a good slapping this morning - we couldn't watch CBeebies. I don't know what had happened but it wasn't there (along with a few other channels). Its the only way I can have a cuppa in peace when dd has woken me up at 6.30am. Its also useful for when I need to get some jobs done, and DH thinks Bodger and Badger is hilarious!

Glad to say it is back now at last.

Joe1 · 14/06/2002 11:10

I will really love to slap Micheal Schumacher.

Joe1 · 14/06/2002 11:17

Sorry should read would. Still suffering from lack of sleep.

LiamsMum · 14/06/2002 11:27

I think The Hoobs could do with a bit of a slapping..... and the Teletubbies, come to think of it.

CAM · 14/06/2002 12:04

joe1 I think Michael Schumacher would enjoy that too much.

WideWebWitch · 14/06/2002 12:37

Can I just give India Knight another slap please? Just read "Don't you want me" and it says so much (all bad) about the woman and her snobbery and attitudes.

bluebear · 14/06/2002 13:28

TV researchers who feel the need to start several new threads about their programmes!

Mopsy · 14/06/2002 14:26

Mine are just as bad, they wouldn't let me see the dr so I had to see 2 nurses who weren't sure if it was chickenpox or not and they told me to come back and see the dr at tea time anyway! The receptionist didn't have any choice then!

Joe1 · 14/06/2002 15:11

Cam I could think of worse things than a simple slap.

Queenie · 14/06/2002 16:27

Bundle, would like to assure you my like for Eammon Holmes is non-sexual - just like him in a 'matey' sort of way as he can be quite cutting at times and I fine this amusing. However, I admit there is something wrong with my head as DH tells me often enough. Ah, there we go a good slapping for DH (it's well overdue).

Willow2 · 14/06/2002 16:29

Bettys - and why do they all have bull bars? Could be wrong, but I've never seen a moose in SW14 (although my husband would beg to differ). Admittedly there are deer in the park, but don't think they pose a major threat. PS: keep necking the wine (don't suppose there's any left is there? I'd love a glass but as it is only 4.30 think I should hold out for an hour or two.)

SofiaAmes · 14/06/2002 21:28

Willow2, my neigbor could be mistaken for a moose....but she's in nw10

Willow2 · 14/06/2002 21:40

I think my husband must have spotted her too then.

bettys · 14/06/2002 22:09

Sorry Willow2, the Pinot's all gone, now onto the vin du pays d'Oc (£2.99 Sainsbury's only bought it 'cos I like the 2CV on the label but very drinkable).
Bull bars - why?
Spare wheel on the back - why?
Am watching Jeremy Clarkson - there's a man who knows how to rant!

SofiaAmes · 14/06/2002 22:14

spare wheel, in case you break down while bumping mooses while 4 wheel driving through kew gardens looking for a petrol station because you've already driven 10 miles.

SofiaAmes · 14/06/2002 22:22

spork, i have a gas guzzler in the states because I am an architect and did a lot of construction related work and needed to be able to carry sheets of drywall/plywood etc. around with me. The only vehicle at the time that would fit them was an old (the new ones are too small inside) 4x4 landcruiser. Unfortunately, they get terrible gas mileage. However, I didn't do much driving where I didn't need a vehicle that big, so it didn't make sense to have a second smaller car. I do my best to conserve energy in other ways that in my opinion more than make up for the extra petrol use.

SoupDragon · 15/06/2002 08:12

A spare wheel on the back is so much more practical than ours which is under the floor of the boot. In the case of a puncture, I'd have to unload the entire boot of all the assorted cr@p you need to carry about with 2 small children.

I'd like to give Renault car designers a good slap!
