Glad the hips are working better now Zombie, and great news from the cardiologist Star

I've had that Wizard of Oz song "If I only had a Heart" going through my head all day.....

Oh B3 is your DD's EDD nearly here? Have you got your bottle of fizz ready in the fridge?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 24/05/2016 01:26

Allalone DD is 28 weeks next Friday.

I always have fizz ready in the fridge Grin

Fascinates me that the WOOZ characters hankered after traits they were already defined by; it can be so hard to see ourselves as we actually are.

Allalonenow · 24/05/2016 01:44

Oh I will get some chilling tomorrow so I can join in! Grin
(even though she has got a while to go yet)

Yes, you are right, or as Robbie Burns said "To see oursels as ithers see us!"

IamtheZombie · 24/05/2016 16:30

I had a crap night's sleep. This wasn't helped by the chirping smoke alarm that I can't get to without wrestling a step-ladder upstairs. Even if I get the step-ladder up there, I'm not sure I'm steady enough to climb it, do the necessary to the smoke alarm and climb back down in one piece. I think I'll move into the guest room for a couple of days until it finally dies.

Despite the lack of sleep, it's been a productive day. There are 3 loads of laundry washed and on the line and a 4th load in the machine. My hip is starting to tell me it's done enough steps for one day so I won't be doing any more washing today.

I've also planted runner beans in pots to start them off, moved 3 tomato plants into their forever pots and done some border tidying. I should have a good go around the garden with my weed wand but am having a rest first. I wonder if the rest will turn into a nap?

In answer to the "nether regions" question Hmm I will say that E45 Anti Itch cream is helping. Grin

I hope everyone is practising referring to BBB as GrannyB.

That's a bit of a bugger Zombie. Bloody smoke alarms are a nuisance when they keep bleeping. We had one going off in the middle of the night. I got up, got a chair. Struggled to open the alarm, replaced the battery. Got back in bed and I heard bleep bleep bleep, I had changed the wrong one !!!!

Mummylin · 24/05/2016 20:15

Just had a text from my brother. They picked Guthrie up at seven. He is still dopey, but has eaten some food and gone back to sleep ! He had the op this afternoon.

Mummylin · 24/05/2016 20:15

That last post on wrong thread, but in case you want to know Guthrie is a British bull dog !!!

Allalonenow · 24/05/2016 20:28

Oh gawd yes to smoke alarms being irritating bastards.

I'm having trouble getting a ladder upstairs on my own too. I'm going to buy a light one and leave it upstairs permanently, and hope that will solve the problem.

Glad to hear that Guthrie is doing well lin.

FattyNinjaOwl · 24/05/2016 21:28

Glad Guthrie is OK lin
Smoke alarms are annoying. When I lived with my mum our smoke alarm would go off for the slightest thing.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/05/2016 01:21

Aw, big snogs Guthrie(((xxx)))!

Allalonenow · 25/05/2016 09:32

Hope you had a more restful night last night Zombie, you can't be doing without proper sleep.
Has the pesky smoke alarm got an off button you could poke with a stick?Or could you ask a neighbour to help you?

Mummylin · 25/05/2016 12:43

Married. I don't know how but I have only just seen your photo of your little gs, he is adorable. You must be very proud of him.

Susiesoap7 · 25/05/2016 13:15

Hope you had a better night last night zombie, just had a bright idea about smoke alarm. Put some brandy in a water pistol, aim it at the smoke alarm then open your mouth to catch brandy as it comes back down! If it doesn't stop the noise at least the brandy might put you to sleep lol! 🌸🌸

IamtheZombie · 25/05/2016 19:30

I'm pleased to report that the smoke alarm was extremely subdued last night. I can't say the same about the cockchafer that invaded the bedroom. After I turned off the bedside lamp it decided to dive bomb the clock radio next to my head instead. I fooled it though. I got up, went out and turned on the landing light, left the bedroom door ajar and then closed it when the cockchafer headed for the bright(er) lights. Proof positive that Zombies are smarter than May Bugs.

iklboo · 25/05/2016 19:34

Well, that sounds like a rubbish name for a fragrance. 'Cockchafer - by Lentheric'

Susiesoap7 · 25/05/2016 21:17

Refill water pistol with gin, aim at cockchafer! Simple eh? 🌸🌸

Wolfiefan · 25/05/2016 21:18

Is a cockchafer more like a cockwomble or a wankbadger?!?!
Grin

iklboo · 25/05/2016 21:50

I'm sensing a theme Susie - maybe you could start a line of pre-filled super soakers. Put me down for a gin, a Jack Daniels and a dark rum one please.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/05/2016 23:33

Cockchafer by Lentheric sounds like a winner to me, get it packaged and I'll be your rep in Brighton Grin

Susie this pre-loaded water pistol proposal is genius.

Infinite possibilities and we should make them refillable for eco cred.

Alchoholic ones for grown-ups with ricochet function for out of range problems.

Another range for kids; they'd relish ... medicine, brocolli, carrots, even sprouts delivered via pistol Grin

You is brave Zomb those bugs are scary.

I would have to squish it though, sorry, otherwise it's still there. Little fucker.

FuckingFattyBitch · 25/05/2016 23:35

I don't mind may bugs. Spiders though...eeeeee. I had to get DS1 to remove a spider from the bathroom before. It was huge and I heard it pop as he squished it.

Mummylin · 25/05/2016 23:58

I'm the opposite to you Fatty, I don't mind spiders and just pick them up and take them outside ( in my hand ) but may bugs I detest, bloody keep banging into my windows making me jump, swooping towards me when you are out in the garden, ugh they are awful.

IamtheZombie · 26/05/2016 00:00

I would have to squish it though, sorry, otherwise it's still there. Little fucker.

Little fucker? LITTLE FUCKER??? The ones in DDS are the size of a B52! I'd probably ampute a toe trying to squish it. Then I'd have to clean up the goo.

You wouldn't like my house, FFB. The spiders won the war years ago. But it's OK. We have an arrangement. They stay away from me and they live. Their sense of self preservation is strong. Very strong.

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/05/2016 00:07

Ew, how close do you not mind them though FFB?

I had something similar to a may bug land on my pillow once, behind me! When I was in the bed. With my head on the pillow Shock

That would have been a funny YouTube clip!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/05/2016 00:15

GrinGrinGrin

Yy spiders are fine, anything more substantial is on hiding to nothing.
Shame we can't eat the Little Fuckers.
Well, we probably could but sod that.

There's a challenge for our Mess Master? Smile

Allalonenow · 26/05/2016 00:24

I'm liking the SplatGun idea, icecream in the summer would be fab, consommé in the winter......

I read that as cock chaser at first, so was a bit nonplussed....
It's nuclear war here against all creepy crawlies, but I tell myself it's alright as it's a protective genetic memory.

Lentheric had some strange fragrances, Tweed smelt like a very old wet Barbour with hints of gundog and a base-note of kerosene.
