There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Sad if I could help you I would.

IamtheZombie · 24/02/2016 19:52

Thanks, NinjaOwl. (I refuse to shorten your NN to "Fatty".)

So much of my life is not within my control that it is absolutely vital for me to do as much as I can for myself for as long as I can. I choose to remain in my home because it IS my home. This means I am somewhat isolated. I don't mind that. I like my own company (and that of the ZombieCatsâ„¢ obviously).

I also expect people to respect my boundaries. I'm afraid that those who insist on RL "fussing" or who do things I have specifically asked them not to do get short shrift from me. If they keep pushing, they are out of my life. I have neither the time, energy nor inclination to deal with anyone who shows so little respect for me. That may sound harsh but for me it's an essential part of retaining what control I do have over my life.

If I have a medical 'emergency' I ring the oncology helpline. They arrange the ambulance to hospital. I then ring my neighbour and hand over cat feeding duties to him. When I'm able to come home, that's when I use hospital transport.

If it works, don't fix it.

Zombie it's just extra tough for you love Flowers, wish I was closer, to be able to help.
I know you make the absolute best of it.

They are very pretty geegees Fatty Grin

There is a very old boxer, one of my best friends, a very young JRT - the only one they had as a puppy, a brother and sister who were from a rescue, kind of german shepherdy, a very pretty, very little scruffy thing also rescued and an evil little thing like a long haired dachs, again rescued.
I think DD got a reputation after a while and people chucked dogs into their yard knowing she would look after them!
There have been times when they had 11. Only 3 or 4 that go home with them, the others stay at the yard with the horses.

FattyNinjaOwl · 24/02/2016 20:08

It seems you have it all figured out zombie and I completely understand you wanting to do what you can yourself. I feel the same.(although obviously my problems aren't the same as yours and I feel a bit like I'm moaning over nothing) It means sometimes I push myself too far though. i had SPD/pgp in pregnancy, was on crutches, still find moving tough sometimes now 6 months on. I couldn't even go to the toilet alone at the end of my pregnancy. I hated it.

BBB all those animals! I would love that.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 24/02/2016 20:10

Sorry Z we crossed there.

I can totally understand your desire to stay in control of as much as possible.

And the intolerance of people who don't respect your wishes and boundaries.

I also understand that you are happy being isolated but it is worrying thinking of you driving yourself for eg. sometimes.

IamtheZombie · 25/02/2016 12:06

Up and awake - tick

Showered and hair washed - tick

Dressed - tick

To do:

Deliver car to the garage in Ludlow for repairs. Tentative diagnosis of warped front brake discs (causing extreme shudder and judder when brakes are applied).

Wander around Ludlow Market.

Retreat to Costa for a Vanilla Latte and a bite to eat.

Wander around a couple of shops.

Collect car.

Tesco shop.

Home.

How exciting... Grin

That sounds like a good day Zomb

Loads better than the last few days Smile

iklboo · 26/02/2016 10:30

That sounds like a good day Zombie. This morning we've been to DS's Teachers' Award assembly (they get a card each term, get stickers for good work, fill card = assembly). At least he didn't look like he wanted the floor to open up & swallow him this time.

Off out soon for a bit of a mooch round town, look round the charity shops, bit of lunch

DS's new friend is coming round to play after school. He seems like a nice kid. I might not need the gin later after all........wait. What AM I saying?!

Mummylin · 26/02/2016 16:28

Glad that you have picked up again Zombie. It makes me exhausted just reading about everything you do some days ! Have a great weekend and don't overdo things.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/02/2016 21:55

Check yourself there Ikl Grin One nice kid does not equal lowering of Phalanx standards

They are all stallions lin so might make a bit of a mess of your greenhouse darling.

Actually,my baby boy has been siting a house today, on a lake about 10 miles north of you. It's our first completely off grid home.

DH livid about rugby as usual the ref is rubbish otherwise could tell you where it is.

Hope today was good Z xxx

Wolfiefan · 26/02/2016 22:00

Zombie that sounds lovely. I have often wanted to offer RL help. I'm in GLOS. but you know where we are if you want us. You are the indomitable Z and all should bow down and respect you! Apart from Zcats. Cats respect no one!!!! Xxx

iklboo · 26/02/2016 22:07

S'OK B3 - I'm on the gin as we speak. DS friend was thoroughly lovely boy. Very polite, ate his tea, didn't make a mess. Still. Be rude not to have a gin when it's sitting there wouldn't it?

Mummylin · 26/02/2016 22:10

10 miles from me BBB trying to think where there is a lake ! I only know a lake where there fish !!

IamtheZombie · 26/02/2016 23:41

Mummylin · 27/02/2016 19:48

Good news for you Zombie, so glad you have something nice to look forward to.
I have exciting news today, my niece went for a private scan today as she is too impatient to wait for her hospital scan. She text me and said can we come round, and when they got here she produced a little blue carrier bag !!! Yes it's a boy. She was in my lounge phoning everyone, her husband was in the conservatory phoning his family and friends, they are so excited and happy, it's a pleasure to see. I wish my sister was here to see what a lovely daughter she has. She would of been so proud. Now I can get on and start crocheting her some baby blankets !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 27/02/2016 22:30

Oh lin that's so lovely.

And just wonderful that they come to you to share their excitement.

You should be proud of that Flowers
