There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Up the !!!!

I live down t'road from Man U. I am not a fan. Those who support the round ball in my family are Blues.

DH's family are United fans when they're winning but couldn't find their way into the place with a map, sat nav and a team of Sherpas. Hmm

IamtheZombie · 22/02/2016 21:15

I know Old Trafford quite well. Back in the day when I worked we did a lot of our courses there.

Bloody hell, that's a lot of downtime; 4-5 days minimum recovery every time.

I'm not a fan of sport and my least favourite sport is football but for you I'll shake my rattle and rip my top off and do a bit of skidding on my knees, on the mud.

Was that what you meant?!

I may need more specific instructions.

Oops, sorry just realised game probably half way through

I'll top up everyone's drinks, I'm good at that Grin

Nuts?

FattyNinjaOwl · 22/02/2016 21:31

I much prefer rugby league (not union, union is shite) to football, but I'll cheer in your team zombie

iklboo · 22/02/2016 21:53

Ahem. DS plays Union Fatty Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/02/2016 21:57

I'm not fussed between League or Union, I just like the thighs Blush

iklboo · 22/02/2016 22:01

Oh the thighs B3 (not DS & his mates - they're only 10). In me yoof I once followed two Fijian chaps round the local supermarket cos they were in their kit. Sigh.

FattyNinjaOwl · 22/02/2016 22:02

ikl tell DS he needs to play league. It's much better Grin
I am such a big perv when watching rugby

iklboo · 22/02/2016 22:05

There's more thighs in Union Wink

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/02/2016 22:23

Nail on head Ikl

There is nothing to compare with Fijian thighs Grin

Nothing.

FattyNinjaOwl · 22/02/2016 22:24

I watch union...for the perv factor. Grin
I just think league is a better game.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/02/2016 22:27

Well, that should help our Z off to sleep.

This Phalanx is just so generous and helpful.

And, let's face it, selfless.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/02/2016 22:31

You're right Ikl, 4 more thighs.

I never knew that.

Must be why I prefer Union.

I knew there'd be a sensible reason.

Thanks hun Flowers !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/02/2016 01:07

OMG

8 more thighs, eight!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/02/2016 01:09

I do get there in the end.

Usually.

Mummylin · 23/02/2016 15:13

Hi everyone. Finally I think I am feeling better after having a chest infection, sore throat earache etc, have been feeling really lazy too, but today I am feeling more like myself thank god.
Zombie glad to see that you are now perking up. Hope you stay well now for a few weeks and that next time it won't hit you so hard. You are an absolute star !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/02/2016 20:17

Oh, sorry you've been poorly lin v. glad you're feeling better.

This is actually only just registering Zomb, you have chemo every three weeks and each chemo session slays you for, it seems, 4-5 days.

We all know how stoic you are (understatement), I really hope you have people around to help and support you.

I know you will be aware of the help that is available, I just hope you are taking advantage of it sweetheart.

You don't need to just soldier on alone.

For example, I'm not sure you should be driving yourself to and from all these appointments, especially when they are so late in the day.
It's very different at our age driving in the morning or driving at dusk or in the dark. It's very stressful. Our eyes aren't what they were.

I really don't mean to be negative, but I feel that you could be getting more help.

Love and hugs FlowersWine

Mummylin · 23/02/2016 22:19

Hi BBB , hope your DD is going along ok. Isn't it exciting. I am waiting to find out the sex of my nieces baby, then I will crochet some baby blankets. She will find out on 17th March. I am glad I didn't have that choice back in the dark ages when I had mine, I loved having surprises !
I completely agree with what you said about Zombie. I don't know that I would be so strong as she is.
How is the house coming along ?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/02/2016 22:59

It is really exciting lin and such a major operation for them to get back here.

They have to bring 5 horses and 6 dogs!

As well as all the usual household stuff.

DH and DS are involved in bringing the dogs - in a dodgy car. It's about 24 hours actual driving.

My positive thinking and everythingwillbefine muscles are being stretched to the extreme.

SmileSmileSmile

Mummylin · 24/02/2016 00:12

Have they got somewhere to move into ? And have you got a big garden for all the horses ( apart from the one that is going in the lounge ). It is a massive move isn't it, but it will be lovely for you.
This is a very exciting year for your Dd. The old saying of " new house, new baby " will certainly be correct for her !

Mummylin · 24/02/2016 00:13

Oh and I hope it's a big car !!!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 24/02/2016 00:39

You are a sweetie lin, the horses are being transported by people who know about that stuff < jazz hands>

And they are stabled properly where most of the lessons happen.
About half way between you and me actually!

They have a place to move into thanks to my mum helping with deposit and us being guarantors. A place int the middle of nowhere that no-one else wanted, perfect for them.

Everything here is cool, it's just dependent on people keeping their word in Portugal.

It is quite a big car, it's also quite an old car.

We will do it between us. I will be available 24/7 for whatever rescue is needed.
I will not be anywhere near the car full of dogs. For 24 hours driving.

I will be fabulous when horses, dogs, people are back in UK.

Mummylin · 24/02/2016 02:25

It all sounds wonderful, but I bet it will be a big relief when dogs, horses and humans are finally safely here. What a lot of planning that must be. What sort of dogs are they ?

FattyNinjaOwl · 24/02/2016 07:00

That's a massive move! And I'm Envy of the horses! Santa never did bring me a pony. Grin

IamtheZombie · 24/02/2016 17:12

lin, sorry you've been poorly but very glad you're better now.

BBB, I'm seriously impressed by the logistics of the move!

Unfortunately I'm very much on my own with getting around, etc. Other than hospital transport which comes with its own set of challenges, there is no one to help. I also almost always do other things while I'm out for an appointment. Even local friends and family are at least 20 miles away. They have their own lives, work, etc. It is what it is.
