Thought I would start a new thread for November

ds has his first job for UA on monday for sainsburys - he also has his 5th birthday on sunday with 43 kiddies coming to his party. just realised hes got 12 spots over him. was convincing myself no its not chicken pox looked in his head and it smothered in these big open wounds . poor little mans been asking me to scratch his back for last couple of days.

oh no mysonsmummy, we had to cancel a boden job due to chickenpox!! Has he been unwell in the days leading up to the spots??

Oh mysonsmummy, poor him!! Is it going round? What a time for it to happen, I hope he isn't too upset
Perhaps he can still party with those children that have had CP and those that want it! Theres never a good time to have chickenpox, but its good to get it over with.

elles, thanks, i just went onto the site and showed dp the pic of elle in the coat, he said that elle is stunning, now i know you already know that, but for him to notice is a miracle! i honestly think he would be oblivious if i brought home the wrong little girl from the park!! they really are lovely pics tho.......

oh and ill be getting the coat kit for lani, but no way on earth would i attempt to knit it! id end up throwing it up in the air after about 10 mins, my mum on the other hand, will be forced to knit it
mysons, so sorry your ds is spotty what awful timing, will you have to cancel the job? is cp still contagious once they have scabbed? maybe if he isnt contagious they might be able to cover up the ones on his face with concealer, or remove them digitally after?

lanismum - good luck with lanis gran knitting the coat for her it is beautiful and feels lovely.

mysonsmummy - that is such a shame about ds chicken pocks hope he gets well soon.thats typical he should get it when his first job comes up!

Looks like there has been ssome great jobs recently, to many to liist themm all but well done to everyone.

My DD has definatly gotthe curse of the nearly two year olds LoL

Still havnt seen the C&G advert, ive been looing everywhere for it. The agency still havnt been told that DD wasnt used. Very strange!!!!

Sorry to hear about the sspottts mysonsmummy, but think Lanismum is right, once they are scabbed over they arnt contagoius.

Evening all,hope you are well. Havent been on here for a while.Been catching up on all the fab castings/jobs/Well done ! Thumbs ,great news re dd1s job and dd2s BM job! Congrats to Ellesmum,Thumbs, and DLM re published pics . Dying to see them ,any possibility that you can email them to me? [email protected]. Been quiet since Sep on the modelling front for us. B&B enquired re avaliability for a Junior shoot next week .We can only do one of the 2 poss dates so will have to wait and see. Waiting for Xmas issue of tesco Baby and Toddler magazine out this month as hopefully dd s pics are in it. Good luck to all those with castings/jobs this week.

thanks everyone - gonna wait till the morning to see how bad it is. im so not a party organiser but have put everything in to it - had a yes from everyone we asked (hence 43 kids). ds has a big poster on the door saying 3 days to go as its birthday on same day. think i will lose hall and entertainer money if they wont change it to another day. also money for sainsbury job. i was getting bit worried as we'd had no work that UA wouldn't renew our contract and then we get a job with no casting. **IT. friends say if hes not unwell go ahead with party but id feel so dishonest. also if i tell everyone they wont come. hes so gutted. so am i for him.

awww mysons, i really feel sorry for your ds, but i think if he def has cp you need to be honest with everyone, its not normally a problem for healthy people but it can be dangerous for people who are immunosurpressed, and if a pregnant woman catches it near to delivery it can cause problems for the baby i think (but dont quote me on that!), maybe you can find out which kids have had cp before, loads of kids will have so maybe you will only get a few decide not to come?
as for the job, i reckon i would speak to Alysia and ask her advice, i think it will depend on if hes supposed to be working with other kids, if hes well enough in himself, and if the spots are on his face, as for them not renewing his contract without him having had a job, my dd is getting her contract renewed, and i found that out before she had her first job, so fingers crossed that even if he cant do the job on monday, they will still renew.

really hope it turns out to be some strange rash that just looks similar to cp though.

lani - when is your contract up for renewal this year or next?

mysonsmummy - has he been to see a doctor? i have so many times thought my dd has had chicken pox and it has turned out not to be, shes come out in spots a few times, the first time i was convinced it was cp as they were almost identical and itched her madly but took her to the doctors and they said it was some sort of allergic reaction to something, after a few days they dissapeared.

there are so many rashes kids can get, and there are alot of viruses that cause spots.

is ds unwell with it?

elle - no hes not had any signs of being unwell at all which is why it shocked me so much. if anything hes happier now hes settling into reception. the first one was on his belly and looked like a spot he had scratched and pulled the head off. but the ones in his head are really bad. hoping this maybe the end of it and probably not it prob just the start. he will miss his friends at school. my firends said he need 2 wks off school but a website said 5 days - how long is it? cant do anything about job till i see how bad he is in morning and what dr says. tbh prob wont take him anyway as it the last things hes gonna want to do. he loves having his photos taken so dont want to ruin it for him. will let you know. ive tried so many times for him to catch it.

mysonsmummy - hope your son is feeling well enough for his party. When my DD had chicken pox she also had no symptoms before the spots, I clearly rememberthinking how well she had been eating the few days before. She then passed it on to her sister who was only three weeks old at the time.

mrs ratty - did that change when the spots came out? dont know what to do. hes got no more. only 2 big ones and lots in hair. drs at 12.30. if i dont cancel today got no chance of getting any money back. if i go ahead there could be pregnant women there. need to ring agency today of cancelling his job - how do i know what he will like monday. ill see what dr says.

morning, mysonsmummy my DD had CP 2 years ago in november and I didnt notice at first as she just had 1 spot on her forhead so didnt think anything of it, she was sent home from nursery and I took her to the docs and she had to be segregated from the other patients.

she was just spotty for the first couple of days, but then she was really unwell, high temperature, not eating, had no energy etc

your lo might be ok now, but it might hit him hard within the next 48 hours, if you have a job booked, leave it to this afternoon to decide,

fingers crossed he will be ok xxxxxx

mysonsmummy forgot to say that your son is contagious now with the spots coming out, did you send him to school or keep him off ?
