Lolly68 · 10/11/2006 10:37

ellesmum · 10/11/2006 10:43

marymay lovely pictures!

Lolly68 · 10/11/2006 10:43

He is lovely. What a looker!

mrsratty · 10/11/2006 10:44

The spots are no longer contagious when they have dried up which is a few days after the last has appeared. Have you told the Dr that he has chicken pox as he will have to sit seperatley from the other patients. I don't remember if DD was ill after the spots came out as new baby was only a couple of weeks old and my mum had just had a heart attcak so it was a very busy time for me! I'm really not sure what to advice re the job but I would call all those comming to the party just so people can make an informed choice whether to come or not.

mrsratty · 10/11/2006 10:47

marymay - he looks great!! Bet he'll be happy to see himself!

londonermum · 10/11/2006 10:55

Hi all - hope you're all well.

Ellesmum- Elle is gorgeous! Just had a look on childmodellingnet...will be a nightmare come her teens...all the boys will be after her! Well don on the BHS job this week.

Mysonsmummy- hope your ds gets well soon and good luck with the drs.

Well done all on jobs and castings this week...anyone doing Tammy shoot next week?

Tinkerbel5 · 10/11/2006 10:59

marymay your son is gorge, he looks ever so cheeky lol

marymay · 10/11/2006 10:59

thank you.ds hasnt seen them yet it will be a nice surpise after school.

Tinkerbel5 · 10/11/2006 11:02

another thing about cp, the doctor told me not to bath DD as it stops the spots from scabbing over and they take longer to heal, but my friend is an ex pharmacist and she says they recommend bathing the child to help the scabs drop off.

lanismum · 10/11/2006 11:06

sorry mysons, missed your question last night, her contract was up this year.
really hope everything goes well at the drs and somehow his party and job can still go ahead.

marymay · 10/11/2006 11:09

tinkerbel..thanks.he is a bit of a devil lol. but he knows how to turn the charm on when needed.

ellismummy · 10/11/2006 12:12

Lady from ua just called to invite us in for consultation on 25th nov, in fulham.

housemum · 10/11/2006 12:14

DD had CP last Spring

  • baths were good as it soothed the spots, just need to carefully let them dry after - we patted her dry with a towel, so as not to scratch off the spots, then let her play for a bit with no clothes on before putting on the softest PJs we could find in her drawer.
  • I was told they are contagious until last spot has scabbed over
  • we were due to have friends over for a coffee morning, told them and some still came either as they had had CP or they wanted their kids to get it!
  • check nhs direct - it has the relevant advice re pregnant women chickenpox
  • she wasn't ill at all, just quite sleepy for the day or so she was confined to the house (though that could just be the boredom of being stuck with mummy instead of going out!)
  • it's known as chicken-spots in our house as that's what dd called it - sounds so much nicer actually!!

Hopefully he'll get over it really quickly - dd did and she was COVERED in spots (in places you don't want to be scratching, too... ouch) - she has one little scar near her nose, even that's starting to fade. It looked worse for a while as you could still see red marks, but these didn't turn into scars - that was the ones on the body, I think the ones on the face go quickly as they are exposed to sunlight. If you do get any scars, Bio-oil from the chemist is supposed to be good - we put it on the worst looking ones on dd when they healed over a bit that looked like they would scar, don't know if she would have had scars or not, but they've gone (was a bit wary of putting oily stuff on her face, so she still has that little one)

Tinkerbel5 · 10/11/2006 12:25

well done ellismummy, good luck x

mummsyjo · 10/11/2006 12:54

mythumbelinas · 10/11/2006 13:19

mysonsmummy, how did the dr appt go? has he got CP? How awful when you have a party planned and job .. hope it all works out and that ds isn't too bad

littlemadam, it was me that mentioned bowdens .. i thought they were north england but got that wrong. I'd met some people who do exra work and ads and they work with kids from there a lot.

tigeryuan · 10/11/2006 13:27

mummsyjo - how old is your kid? bk seems to have more jobs for older kids. my son has been with them since last Nov, but has no castings/jobs!
he is 2yr and 9 mths now. I'm not sure its because of his age tho.
he is also with mot, he had couples jobs and few castings! it has been so quiet for him for months now!
good luck with bb!

mrsratty · 10/11/2006 14:11

tigeryuan - I loved the montage, your son is gorgeous!!!

mythumbelinas · 10/11/2006 14:12

julie4travel · 10/11/2006 14:13

hello all

chickenpox poor you, my ds actually had it twice as teh first case was mild i didn't think you could get it again. well next time he was covered from head to toe! literally. he still has a mark from one on his nose

we have a casting for mon next week - anyone else going, its for bbc. i am wondering if out of his league again? he is confident yet i wonder if i should be putting him in a drama class to use his imagination more when meeting casting directors etc.
