Mrsratty is your child doing a test shoot through KL in Parson's Green? We have been offered thsi and really don't understand what it is about...

mrsratty · 16/11/2006 14:48

Colinfirth - yes she is. It's for the photogaphers portfolio, we get expenses and some of the pictures. I'm happy that I will be getting the pictures. Is your child doing it, how old are they?

Colinfirth · 16/11/2006 14:51

I don't know if he will do it - he is 6 but wasn't very keen when we tried a casting so will ask and see how he feels about it. I've posted before as slyandgobbo re my son who blows a bit hot and cold about the whole business so am not pushing it!

mrsratty · 16/11/2006 14:55

Mt DD enjoys it and really liked the photographer when she worked with im a couple of weeks ago, if it's the stylist she had yesterday she also really likes her. Has he just had one casting, or has he had work too?

Colinfirth · 16/11/2006 15:00

He had a casting, wanted to go, hated it, had to be persuaded to put the shirt on etc etc... So I have basically not taken any further castings which were put forward but a few months have now passed and was going to run it by him (or just abandon the whole thing - it may be that he thought he wanted to do it but really doesn't - he si quite keen to earn money to buy more Lego!)

mrsratty · 16/11/2006 15:46

I had to bribe DD when she first started by promising her a mcdonalds. Noww she sees the photoshoot as a treat but it really helped at the begining. It's good this one is on a Saturday as DP can come too if he feels like it.

mythumbelinas · 16/11/2006 16:30

mysonsmummy, there are parking bays on the same road as spring studios (opposite the garages) cost about £3.20 for max 2 hr stay. If you're driving on the main road, turn into the road with McDonalds on the corner, it bears left, then turn right.
I've driven and taken tube before. Tube is nearby too .. i think the station is only a little further away. When i've passed the 2 hr limit, i've just popped out and reparked in another bay. hth!

mythumbelinas · 16/11/2006 16:35

Oh, almost forgot! Today on the radio i heard an agency called John Robert Powers is recruiting at the mo. It said it is an acting school and have got things for the OC, desperate housewives, etc. Think it is american.
Anyway, they only have 200 places (ages 4-17) and auditions are this Sat 18th. Tel no 02076372236
I don't know how genuine this agency is .. never heard of them, so please do reearch if you're interested.

Way-hey, we're off and running again! DD has her first casting since Feb - on Monday for Marie Chantal clothing (just had a look at the website - v nice but at $122 for a top it's definitely out of my league!! DD has v similar stuff from Zara though so will take her in that as she likes it and looks good in that style).

Anyone else going?

ellesmum · 16/11/2006 18:10

julie - thanks will let u know

housemum - good luck sounds very posh!

Well done Ellesmum and DLM!! Great jobs, I'll spot for you Ellesmum with Mackays, will e mail you later! How was the Pic in M and S?

Mrsratty, its the same one - we are there at 11.30. how about you?? I thought it was Ian Derry....maybe I misheard!! I wasn't told to take any clothes - so I guess they're providing?

Ragamuffin - well done to your DD!

Good luck to anyone else waiting on jobs/castings!

lindac · 16/11/2006 18:47

mythums -i posted on her b4 re john robert powers ...they hold auditions in a big rented house near tottenham court road, in central london then they ring you and say GREAT NEWS YOU GOT through but you need to go on an acting course (with them) and they charge a good few grand, they say they do disney films and all the big american programmes etc , but i think they are just after the money, my friend and i went along went year, then they rang us both they said our dd's need'd a level 2 course at (if i remeber right) £2950 , so if anybody does go please bear this in mind, she got it of the radio as they was advertising Tracy Beaker auditions
phew just thought id get that in

mrsratty · 16/11/2006 18:48

We are there at 11 so I'm sure we will meet unless they do a quick in and out! Are you bringing your little one too? You're right it is Ian Derry , I knew Drury and Dury weren't right!!
