trace2 · 09/11/2006 11:29

steveandlibby · 09/11/2006 11:29

hi i just wanted a little advice about this

is this something worth doing ????
i have thought about this for a while and last night filled out some application forms
scallywags - bizzy bees and some other one
are these good start off ones or should i try others or just not bother
thanks

julie4travel · 09/11/2006 11:44

steveandlibby- welcome, housemum down below has put some pros and cons. if you work full time and cant get time off at a drop of a hat it may not be for you, i feel my children are growing in confidence etc each casting etc they do. so that side fo thing is great. there is lots of pros and cons and it all depends on your circumstances and the child. I am lucky being self employed i can go at a drop of a hat. i am further from london than some of us on here yet am happy to pay the train tickets etc as i feel its a positive experience. Sorry if i am being vague. Scallywags are a professional agency and the photos we got from them were superb! they do have lots of kids on their books though

have a look on the cm website for agencies profiles etc. I brought an acting and modelling book to read up about it, tells you the pros and cons etc- you may want to buy one before you take it further

I'm back after long document! Julie - cruises are great have done them since I was a little girl.

Can I ask a question? If you wanted to leave an agy - what do you have to do?

julie4travel · 09/11/2006 14:27

lolly68- you mean move modelling agency dont you?

luck you for lots of cruises

OP posts:
Lolly68 · 09/11/2006 14:47

Yes I do - sorry was not clear!

mrsratty · 09/11/2006 14:50

You can either ring them or email them. I was shocked to hear that one agency wanted 6 months notice. I thought that 1 month was standard. Or you could not renew your contract if your agency gives you a yearly one.

julie4travel · 09/11/2006 14:51

lolly - i would do the assesment etc and be 100% sure on the agent you want to go with before you ask your agent. Notice time may vary from agency to agency. I think housemum had to give a months when she changed over. you may want to test the water by emailing your agency to ask the notice period required on the agency. maybe send it from a different email address if you dont want them to know who u are. Check with your new agent etc how long until they will start putting your dd forward for jobs etc as some start staright away, others dont until paperwork etc is back and photos done. if your agent is non sole rep you could try another one aswell like MOT?

OP posts:
Lolly68 · 09/11/2006 14:53

Thanks to both of you for comments. I wont do any leaving until I'm 100% sure. I know ES are sole rep so have to be quite careful. Just not very happy with them to be honest.

mrsratty · 09/11/2006 16:08

DD has the magazine job next week!!

mrsratty · 09/11/2006 16:40

DD also has a picture in the Mothercare window of her and the baby which they had a spare copy of but will have to wait until after christmas for the instore picture. If I have time after the shoot next week I will take her to Oxford Street to see herself.

Lolly68 · 09/11/2006 16:57

Good luck for Boots and Woolies!

mrsratty · 09/11/2006 17:09

collezioni

dylansluckymum · 09/11/2006 17:11

that looks like a very cool mag i bet she'll have a great time!

mythumbelinas · 09/11/2006 17:12

mrsratty, that sounds like another fab job for dd!
So lucky you can get a copy of the store pic. I've never had any such luck. I tried with bhs and wrote them a letter when they asked, and i called up recently and the woman was really blunt about not giving the pics due to data protection act. I've since called another store and he was willing to give me any store pics no longer used, but they'd skipped summer pics already!!

littlemadam · 09/11/2006 17:22

Wow well done Mrsratty - that looks a fantastic one to do!!!

How did the Boots babies get on today??
