heard two crackers while out in Zimbabwe.

firstly we arrived at our Lodge in Vic Falls and were greated by

"Fatnass" (that's the spelling DH says they probably used - but pronounced Fatness)

and on the list of contact at the Hwange safari Lodge was a

"Whatmore"

BTW - it wouldn't suprise me if our DS's names and DC3's name (whether boy or girl) end up on a thread like this in the future - but I don't care

I know of someone who's daughters are called Yasmin and Jasmine and mum has said if she had another would call her Tasmin

my DD goes to school with a storm a whittney (yuk) and twins albin and alvin and DS went to nursery with a boy called aragorn lord of the rings fan me thinks!!

Oh, also, I find it often sooo funny when I visit my family in Germany and they use really english/amareican names for their Kids but pronounce them reallly german and often it just don't sit well with me....like Linus being pronounced Leenous forinstance!

I've got a very unusual surname and when DD was born, the HV said, "oh is she called X?" and tried to smile. I said oh yes then realised adn quickly corrected her, trying my hardest to sound a bit posh for some bizarre reason.
