Soon. Maybe. Wink

Actually Bee the Parish Priest advises his flock to do things rather than 'give up/renounce' things.

I am probably hormonal in all honesty alcohol tastes evil tonight.

also a bit of valium helps

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 05/03/2014 23:41

Ah, mellow and floaty. Lovely Wink

What a very sensible shepherd.

sanssoleil · 05/03/2014 23:45

mmm still of a bit of a black sheep in da flock ,guilty as charged Smile

But must admit Church is getting it right and real these days about Lent.

floaty and bloaty that is me Smile

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 05/03/2014 23:58

Aren't they the secret favourites though, more of a corralling challenge?

I would't even qualify as a sheep, none of our vicars ever felt moved to try and convert me. Neither do any of my born-again in-laws Shock

Grin @ floaty and bloaty.

sanssoleil · 06/03/2014 00:09

You are right-I am just playing with the paradox that I am blonde and black sheep and my sister dark and goldengirl Grin

I am tolerated because I am pretty useful.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/03/2014 00:18

That must be confusing for them; that you won't conform but you will help. I like that Smile

Hope you get some sleep too.

Night night xxx

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/03/2014 10:36

Zombie - are you there yet? Have you been? was it ok?

I had a call this morning from a paediatric consultant. He's brought forward DS2's referral appt, after reading the reason I wanted him seen - DS2 seems to have something called Breath Holding Syndrome, whereby he cries all his breath out and then can't breathe in again, so passes out. Received wisdom is that when this happens, they automatically start to breathe again - but so far DS2 (17mo) has done this 3 times in the last 2 weeks and NOT immediately started to breathe, I've had to work his chest, and/or breathe into his nose, to get him going again. I'm torn between "great, we see the consultant earlier" and "Shit, what is he worried DS2 might have wrong?"

It's a hard place to be, but not as hard as Zombie's had it for the last couple of days. Hope everything is ok, Zombie ThanksWine

IamtheZombie · 07/03/2014 13:34

I'm back home. Going to post the update on the thread in Chat. xxx

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/03/2014 19:33

Have seen your update, I'm so sorry love, that you have all this hassle to deal with.
One step at a time pragmatism will get you through though, as always.
You seem to have a knack for seeing the wood for the trees.
We'll all switch our hopes now for an early biopsy and a benign result.

Lots of love, and of course WineFlowers[puff] and Bear

Have you got any plans for the week-end?

sanssoleil · 07/03/2014 21:01

Just got in Zombie and able to post, saw your update on my dsis tablet earlier,
Sorry that it isn't the news we wanted for you,but hope that we can help keep you sane on this thread.

Lots of love [cheese]Wine[good films]xxxxxxx

IamtheZombie · 07/03/2014 21:02

Thanks, Bee.

Zombie has rather let the "get the house sorted" project slide a bit. So, she's going to pursue that again. It will keep her busy and the house will be presentable in case she does need surgery. Her neighbour would need to feed the cats while she is in hospital and she may need a friend to stay for a few days when she is discharged.

OP posts:
IamtheZombie · 07/03/2014 21:02

Thanks, sol.

Sorting the house will be therapeutic, and this would be a great time to attack the garden too. That would have the added benefit of helping you sleep Smile

Your forward planning made me giggle. I do that too and get teased for covering almost impossible eventualities. I particularly like doing it on behalf of my children; what will you do if ... Grin

Oops, shit, just set light to the ashtray full of pistachio shells! Lucky everyone else is out haha.

magimedi · 07/03/2014 22:03

Sorting the house will be calming & occupying & you will have that amazing feeling of a job well done at the end of it.

In all times of crisis in my life I have done housework type stuff to burn off the angst. It does work.

Bee - I hope assume that was your battery causing the fire - not a fag! And have you been to Lidl, where they have me size (well, height) of pistachios?

IamtheZombie · 07/03/2014 22:15

I have to get someone in for the garden, Bee. I can't manage it. The whole plot here is 2/3rds of an acre and it's almost all on a slope. I can piddle around a bit in the borders but I honestly can't manage the rest.

magi, would you mind PMing me with vaping suggestions? The one I've tried to use just makes me cough my head off.

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/03/2014 22:17

No magi it was a fag! Still can't let them go. I did buy another vaper as soon as lost the last one - blinkin' MumsNet Meet-Ups.

Idid buy them in Lidl, this afternoon GrinGrinGrin and am having them as part of my fridge dipping supper, in the absence of anyone else to consider.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/03/2014 22:26

Piddling around in borders, exactly!

Lovely, with a nice sharp pair of secateurs for crucial, eye-level pruning, some string and wire for some gentle tying in, and of course a huge Vita Sackville-West style hat Grin

Then you sit with an iced cocktail and instruct someone else to do the muscle and bending.

magimedi · 07/03/2014 22:30

I keep rushing back to Lidl to stock up more & more pistachios! I too could make a whole meal og them!

Zombie got to :

www.ecigwizard.com/electronic-cigarette-starter-kits/standardbundle.html

and get their starter kit - it's as good as any out there.

When you want more info come & join the nest of vapers Grin

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2017939-Nest-of-Vapers-we-continue-to-not-BU-to-carry-on-vaping?pg=1

You might want to read the first post on that thread (mine) that has Allergic's great simplification of the whole muddling thing of vaping.

I wish I'd been able to read that when I started vaping.

18 months of no fags & loving it! And no weight gain - which is no bad thing as I am not a slender woman anyhow!

Off to bed - I am afraid I keep earlier hours than the rest of you -was up at 6.30 today so it is book & bed time for me now!

PS - garden on a slope sounds like too much of a challenge - you are right to get someone in to help.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/03/2014 22:57

Zombie* I've found the worst ones for making you cough are the fake cig looking ones.
Inspired by magi's threads I've found two local shops. It's the liquid that determines the flavour and throat hit, and one of my shops will let you try a few before you buy - hygienically!
They are always busy and customers join in with recommendations and experiences, it's great!

sanssoleil · 07/03/2014 23:10

I realise I lost a whole post about an hour agoSad

I can smell Bee pistachio bunfire here Grin

Zombie I need to sort out my house, having been quite immobile for the last 18months or so and will definitely make a start on the'book' situation and throw out clothes/excess books to charity shop,Iam terrified of morphing into my hoarding parents.

I felt very guilty/indulgent but got myself an ipod and when I have all those annoying intrusive thoughts at night I can listen to music and podcasts.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 08/03/2014 00:17

Just got round to reading the Jack Monroe webchat, have been saturated with daughter stuff this week.
What a brilliant, inspiring woman. As you said sol she just blazed off the screen.
Have been peripherally aware of her for a while but not read anything before. Am going to order her book for younger daughter, she'll be an instant disciple.
Don't have iPod guilt sweetheart, you deserve a little indulgence SmileFlowers

sanssoleil · 08/03/2014 21:51

I did the falfafel that she cooked on Womens Hour this week and made loads-everyone loved them, girlies, parents, sis, neighbours Grin

I saw the reference to Vita Sackville-West upthread,I really wished I enjoyed gardening-the gardens at Sissinghurst are pretty wonderful

I read all those bloomsbury set people when I was in hospital in my twenties-I knew a grand-daughter of V S-W when was at university-she was lovely but definitely I inhabited a different world.

Hope everyone is ok-interested to hear all your news,Flowers
