ellesmum · 25/08/2006 16:09

marratty she is a very popular girl! well done!

littlemadam · 25/08/2006 17:28

Mrratty, fantastic news!!! We were in TKMaxx today too! Lots of toys later....

Has anyone ever had any problems not having a licence?? We were on a shoot for Disney last week, and the council came round, and Disney and all the parents got a warning letter for not having one.

Can't make the meet up, as we live in Leeds, but will be there in spirit, would love to meet you all, perhaps one day at a casting/shoot....

cyan · 25/08/2006 17:32

meet up

thorntons · 25/08/2006 17:48

Hi everyone!
Mratty ,well done re dds Asda job too.Fab news! Dylansluckymum,Princessmel. As far as I recall DD s pics will be instore not on website ,which is a shame.
Princessmel. No unfortunately have never got to keep any clothes yet. They are generally samples and the stylist generally whips them back sharpish after they are finished with.
Dylansluckymum. Wishing you all the best with B&B .DD was around 4 months when she joined and did get a casting within first couple of weeks and a Junior Preg and Baby job a few weeks after.IMO babies seem to get more work when they can sit up. Fingers crossed, wont be long before your LO gets first casting/job. B &B wouldnt have taken him otherwisexx

YummyMummy21 · 25/08/2006 19:50

mrratty> WoW your DD is doing so well, how long has she been modelling for now?

Re: childcare> I am very lucky, I have a fab family that all live very close by. So when im studying and doing night shifts DD will either be at her dads or at my parents (she has her own room). When I am working then I think that I am probably going to get Au pair/Nanny.

princess> I have watched them all about 4 times over. LoL they are mostly repeats now, im awaiting a new series.

littlemadam> shame that you cant make the meet-up. Maybe another time.

xXx

perfumelady · 25/08/2006 20:20

sha11 i have emailed totallyfloaty for you

to everyone that is talking about north hampshire are you all near portsmouth? it's just when you mentioned whitely that is about 8 minutes down the road from me. i am junction 9 off the m27

julie4travel we got a def' no for my 8 year old dd on the starnow job.

princessmel · 25/08/2006 20:21

Yummy>I've watched them all too! When I was preg with ds I became obsessed with that channel. I watched it all the time. After he was born I was still hooked on it then I got preg with dd so couldn't switch it off. I've only just got over it! I know so much about so many diff types of births, pregnancys etc.
I'm now addicted to America/Australia/Britains next top model on living tv.
Ellesmum, never mind now you've got an excuse to go back to the shops.

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 20:45

princessmel- i keep watching those programmes too

I still haven't heard on my son for the star now job

yackerty have you?

sorry to hear that perfume. did they email you late at night around 10 or 11pm? hopefully i will hear something soon

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 20:47

mratty - was hovering round the mirror pile in tescos. people prob thought i looked wierd studying your daughters picture. bless her. i recognise her did you post a picture on here before with an advert link or something?

mrratty · 25/08/2006 21:40

Thanks for all of your lovely comments.
It's the picture thats in the Mothercare windows, back to school brouchure and website. I didn't realise one picture could get used so much!

Yummy - You are really lucky to have the childcare support. I hope to get back into it one day, I was really lucky to get in the last time I applied as the competition is massive, hopefully I can do it again in a few years.
DD joined B&B in April so has been doing it for about four months though it feels so much longer. I find it really odd that she has had so much work with B&B yet when she was with Norrie Carr the year before she had only 2 castings for commercials and nothing else.

OP posts:
YummyMummy21 · 25/08/2006 21:47

mrratty> I hope you do get the chance to do it, if its something that you really want to do. I know that im really lucky and I count my blessings without my family I just couldnt do it.

Its prob due to them having different clients and your DD's look suiting the clients of B&B.

Did anyone apply for the CM.net thing? Im not sure if I will or not. Whens the deadline?

xXx

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 22:09

mratty- i still haven't actually been to a mothercare so i wouldn't have seen her in their
mrattu- can you give me an idea of how many castings your dd has had etc since being with b and b. my ds was with scallywags last year and only had 1 job, no castings or anything. so i think if b and b can offer anything more than them its a bonus.

yummy- i did email info for the cm net thing yet realistically its purely if they want my kids if they are free as its looking at around the time of his part in a film, plus as i still haven't heard on the star now catalogue thing that could be on the same day too. we haven't had anything in so long and knowing my luck they will get stuff and it will be day after day in london (in the first week of returning to school)

I hope my dd can do it as she isn't starting modelling with ts until jan so it will be a bit of expereince for her as she has never done any modelling before. I hope she enjoys it as much as him!

I guess cm would have got quite a few applications from star now as i know i have been looking at it daily for new ads so i bet loads of others do too

mrratty · 25/08/2006 22:22

julie4travel - DD has had 6 jobs without any castings, 5 castings that have led to jobs, 2 castings where she didn't get the job (one was for a commercial and the other was for Asda), I turned down one casting and one job as it was her last day of school and it happened to be the day of the commercial casting too which was in the evening. That's more than I thought though I'm sure I've got it right, I will make a proper list for myself and tell you if this one is right.

YummyMummy21 · 25/08/2006 22:31

WoW mrratty thats Fab

Julie> did you send pics of your LO's to the CM.net thing? I havnt even looked yet, ive just seen it posted on here.

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 22:33

mratty- that is superb, cerntainly proves the change of agency for you was the best choice. we nearly went with nc actually. seems to be some kids do superb with one agent and others not so well, hard to know what agent will be best for your kid. Hope my ds gets a few like that. and jobs withour castings is even better! Well done to your dd

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 22:35

yummy- just send a picture of each kids as recent as possible, height, eye colour and hair colour, seems like they want quite a few kids for the site. email admin - carly is dealing with it.

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 22:36

yummy- its under castings on the site

mrratty · 25/08/2006 22:40

julie4travel - thanks for asking that, I've written a list and worked out roughly how much she is owed, she's going to be a lucky girl!

OP posts:
YummyMummy21 · 25/08/2006 22:43

Thanks Julie but I just had a look on the site an it says NO PICS. Shall I just send one anyway?

xXx

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 22:43

mratty- i look at it that whatever they earn is for their future anyway. my ds buys himself a small treat from his earnings so he feels happy and the rest goes in his bank account. my kids seem to have more than me (first gran children too!)

logging off now night

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 22:45

yummy- well i emailed admin asking what the dates were of shoot as didn't want to waste time if we couldn't do it and carly emailed me back asking for a recent picture of the kids.

it was this email [email protected]

YummyMummy21 · 25/08/2006 22:49

mrratty> Can she lend me some money LoL.

DO B&B take 20% or 25% of earnings?

mrratty · 25/08/2006 22:49

DD has 2 accounts, one where we save money and her model account though most of the money with be transfered over to her savings with a little left over for treats. Luckily at the moment she is very cheap to buy for!

Good night

OP posts:
mrratty · 25/08/2006 22:51

B&B take 25% I think.
We will be borrowing from her as she has more than us! I sometimes joke that she will have to pay for her sisters nursery fees!

dylansluckymum · 26/08/2006 12:31

thanks thornton for your advice it's much appreciated! where in ne hants do you live? we're planning to move out of london and are currently looking for houses around church crookham, fleet, odiham. we haven't decided exactly where yet but hopefully we can move by xmas! i need some green space desperately!!!

yummy and princess mel i'm totally with you on those tv progs. my entire pregnancy (especially when mat leave kicked in!) i was obsessed with them. in canada we don't have midwives so i was also trying to find out how the system worked here. they're very addictive! i'm also totally into the top model shows too, i studied photography for a year at st martin's so i find that aspect of it fascinating and it's probably what inspired me to get ds into it as well!
