tavalava- my ds just got accepted the other week with b and b, he is 6 years old. is any of your kids with them that sort of age?

julie4travel · 23/08/2006 20:47

by way i def cant make the meet up as its our wedding anniversary and we will be going away for the weekend. hope you all have a good time!

Quadrophenia · 23/08/2006 20:48

Cyan love i'm 99% sure I can make it hooray!!

Anyone going to BBC tomorrow for casting??

julie4travel · 23/08/2006 20:50

logging off now- good luck to all with castings over the next few days

2ManyPimms · 23/08/2006 20:52

Mrratty - so you've heard about the ASDA casting. I guess DS is out - no call from B&B.

He had a casting yesterday for Saachi - didn't get that either. B&B rang about a casting for Debenhams wedding brochure but he wasn't called in. I can see where it becomes frustrating to go to casting after casting and get rejection after rejection.

On a slightly brighter note, he did a job as "room furniture" (again) for Next. I think he is going to be pigeon-holed as the Next-furniture-accessory posterboy!

Gotta get off the computer - house a shambles and things need putting away and tidying. Kids FINALLY in bed. (They spent the ENTIRE day fighting!)

Where is the wine....?????

ellismummy · 23/08/2006 20:52

yes we are going to casting tomorrow, first one.

2ManyPimms · 23/08/2006 20:53

Happy Anniversary, Julie! Have a FAB weekend away!

Quadrophenia · 23/08/2006 20:54

mrratty · 23/08/2006 20:54

Quadrophenia - did you hear back from Asda?

Godd luck for all castings, there seems to be a lot of TV work around!

Quadrophenia · 23/08/2006 20:56

mrratty · 23/08/2006 20:57

Torntons, just looked at the pics and your DD is beautiful. My M&S is quite small but I will have a look to see if I can see any pics of her.

OP posts:
ellismummy · 23/08/2006 20:58

thorntons · 23/08/2006 21:04

Evening everyone!
Mratty ,ahhhh, thanks for your lovely comments. Your dds are really gorgeous too! Great news re jobs today and Asda "pencil" sounds very promising too!
Cyan, yes 17th sounds good to us. Good luck for casting tmrrw!
Ellismummy,Good luck also to your ds as first casting !

ellismummy · 23/08/2006 21:05

thankyou thorntons.

quadrophenia, sorry must of posted message at same time!
we are with bma at mo, dont seem to hear of many people with them?

Quadrophenia · 23/08/2006 21:07

We've been doing this for a few year now, the last one we went to at the BBC we had to fill in a few forms and then they did a screen check, it was probably one of the longer ones we have been to. There is nothing to be worried about, its all self explanitory once you get there, good luck may see you there!! BTw my kids are with urban Angels x

housemum · 23/08/2006 22:14

Meet-up on 17th is good for me - is anyone else likely to have dh with them? Or are any of you male? (How weird is that question?!) Just thinking that as I'm going to London anyway we might make a day of it and go somewhere else as a family before or after. (Even better, dd will be so worn out she'll probably sleep in the buggy so we can mooch round a museum or somewhere without spending all the time in the kiddy bit!)

princessmel · 23/08/2006 22:26

Hi, I'm pretty sure we'll be able to come Cyan.
Housemum I'll have dh with me as I will need him to help me with dd and ds on the train, unless we drive and park actually. Is there anywhere not too expensive to park there? I don't have a clue about anywhere in London. I'm really nervous about meeting everyone. Should we wear name badges with our MN names on!? How will I know who you all are?

tavalana · 23/08/2006 23:04

julie4travel - my eldest is five but just joined bruce and brown so no work.

cyan - i can make it to the meeting

thorntons · 23/08/2006 23:08

Hi Princessmel. We are going to drive on the 17th too .Sundays are best re parking as generally free to park at a meter in London. We usually find a space easily. Gambado website says there are meters nearby .I will have a look at the borough website re parking , may also post on "day out" thread to see if any other mumsnetters know what parking is like. I will post on here when I find out x

housemum · 24/08/2006 00:13

Oh yes, hadn't thought about how we'd recognise each other!! Really odd - I haven't told dh my MN name - seems too personal (I'm sure he would have better things to do than check my messages but it's probably one of the few things I keep secret - the others are usually "I've had this bag for aaages" and rounding down prices occasionally!)

julie4travel · 24/08/2006 08:01

re - the star now commercial i had an email back saying a definite no to my dd as they have kids with similar looks. still no other news on my ds though. the owner emailed me back to say they are a small family run design company. so will wait and see on my ds now. anyone else had any news on it last night?

tavalava- may see you at castings as my ds is 6 yet a small six year old so they could be put up for the same jobs
