Hello...

OP posts:
mrratty · 25/08/2006 09:17

Well done on the job! I did get a poster, I asked if they could save one for me and when the lady returned from asking her manager she also brought me a poster. DD might also be on the window in the winter as she had some pics taken a couple of weeks ago.

welcome BBWBabeLisa , try other agencies aswell to see what one is best for you, some are better with younger kids than others etc. i think there is quite a few babies on here rep by kl if i remember rightly.

yackerety- they didn't email me last night, did they you?

anyone emailing their kids info in for cm nets website, i see its also listed on star now too.

good luck if you have any castings etc today

yummy- congrats on your A, the drink must have been well deserved

only just got up as went out round a friends last night for dinner so not been to the shop to buy a mirror yet, will do soon!

ellismummy · 25/08/2006 10:02

yummymummy21 yes it was our first casting, I met another mum on the way up going to the same casting so we found it together which was nice, her son was only 2 days age difference to mine.
It was fairly simple but v.quick in and out in about a minute.

ellismummy · 25/08/2006 10:04

p.s well done on your A,that is something to be really pround of.

cyan · 25/08/2006 10:16

ellismummy, have you been advised by your agency to get a license in place? which agency are you with again? u have probably said but i's too long to scroll down!

ellesmum · 25/08/2006 11:18

well done marratty you must be so proud!!! will look for the mirror today!

yummy - well done for your A! im starting college in september to become a midwife too! i am doing an acsess to midwifery course for a year and then going to kingston uni!!!

good luck for all those with castings or jobs!

dylansluckymum · 25/08/2006 11:34

wow so much has happened in a few days!

cyan i should make it on 17th. i'm sure i can con dp into driving us there but coming in is another matter! i'm guessing he'll probably head to the pub and wait for us there.

mrratty that's fantastic have asked dp to get copy of the mirror. being cdn it's kind of a dream to have ds on something like that so i can send it home to family! what a wonderful keepsake!!!

quad can't believe someone just came into your house! where do you live, is it very residential or are there shops, etc around? how frightening.

thornton are your dd's pics on the website at all? i'm not really near an m&s but would love to see.

this is the end of ds' first week with b&b, haven't heard anything yet. i wonder if small babies work a bit less? they're probably a bit easier to work with once they're sitting up on their own. not that i'm anxious or anything!

good luck everyone with castings and hope your weekends are fab!!!

mrratty · 25/08/2006 11:35

Totally unrelated to this thread - I was due to start a Midwifery course but gave up my place just a few weeks before I was due to start because I was pregnant. I can't imagine doing it now as childcare would bea nightmare as I would have to work shifts, what are you guys going to do about childcare, do you have family to help out?

OP posts:
dylansluckymum · 25/08/2006 11:36

oh yummy i forgot to say congrats on your A!!! i've been working office jobs since i was 18 (so 13 years) and am considering retraining to do something else, something with people, prefereably children or teenagers. it's scary to go into the unknown but i think you're training for what must be one of the most rewarding careers in the world! best of luck!

YummyMummy21 · 25/08/2006 11:37

Sorry to change the subject but where are you doing your access ellesmum? Im doing mine at TVU.

Are you only applying to Kingston to do the midwifery? and are you applying for 2007/2008 start?

Thanks everyone for congratulating me. I still cant believe it.

Good luck to anyone awaiting castings or jobs

xXx

mrratty · 25/08/2006 11:39

dylansluckymum - I didn't hear anything for DD for about 3 or 4 weeks after we joined and even then things where slow then they suddenly took off. I got really impatient and thought she was destined never to work!! He will get his call!!!

OP posts:
Kaloo20 · 25/08/2006 11:45

Hi Quad,
I dont usually post on this thread, just lurk occasionally (although am a regular MNer), but I have joined in today because of the coincidence.
My DD was also shortlisted for the same ad as your girls yesterday. Best of Luck

BBWBabeLisa · 25/08/2006 11:49

Thanks for the advice Julie4. I had a look at the websites of some other agencies mentioned on here and have emailed a couple of them (MOT, B&B), will wait and see what happens before making any decisions.

cyan · 25/08/2006 11:49

do you think i should start a different thread for the meet up, under meet ups??? cos its confusing me having to keep looking at all the posts!!!

julie4travel · 25/08/2006 12:29

dylansluckymummy- my son got signed with b and b around same sort of time as your little one. he is 6 yet we haven't heard anything yet. i know its very early, it will come with time. they could have been submitted for jobs yet unsuccesful at this time. obvioulsy you dont get told when their details have been sent through. fingers crossed we get something soon

sha11 · 25/08/2006 12:30

has anyone heard from totally floaty at all recently, could someone get her to email me urgently. please its about a job

dylansluckymum · 25/08/2006 13:14

thanks mrratty and julie thought i might be getting a bit neurotic about the whole thing glad i'm not the only one who worries. i guess it's a mum's job! plus i suppose because you think your lo is so amazing you just assume everyone else should be chomping at the bit to have their face work for their company!

cyan i think it's a good idea to start a thread in meet ups then we can all see who's coming and maybe even say a little about ourselves so we have a better idea of each other when we do meet, especially for us newbies.

littlemadam · 25/08/2006 15:38

I think it does take time, we were a month before our first job, but I'm sure you'll both be really busy very soon!

Thorntons - love the M and S, you must be so proud, I'm just waiting for DS's first ones to come out, so I can have a look!!

princessmel · 25/08/2006 15:51

Hi everyone,

Well done on your A Yummy Mummy! Thats great news. Yes, how will you juggle all the shifts and childcare? Have you seen the progs on discovery home and health about midwives and trainee midwives?
Mratty, I've asked dh to bring me home a Mirror! I can't wait to see it. Gush all you like. I will be whenn dd gets a job!
Thorntons, can you see your dd on the m and s website? Does she ever get to keep any of the clothes?
Cyan, I def aggree about the new thread!
Quad, Poor you . Its sounds awful. Take care. x

princessmel · 25/08/2006 15:52

Soory, Hi BBWbabeLisa!

ellesmum · 25/08/2006 15:53

marratty - saw your dd on front page of mirror she is lovely!

i went to go shopping today in putney town centre and the whole shopping area was shut and surrounded by police ambulance and police horses as a suspisious device (bomb) was found in one of the shops!
it was awful! really scary.

yummy - yes i am applying for kingston uni 2007/2008 im doing my access course at south thames college in wandsworth. i already have 2 a levels but still have to do the access course as my a levels are in media and travel which are un related to midwifey.

mrratty · 25/08/2006 15:53

DD has been confirmed for the George/Asda job. It's for the christmas catalouge which if she's lucky will mean dressing up clothes and gorgoeus dresses. I just bought a large beanbag for the bargin price of £19.99, we have been looking for one for agesbut have always found them too expensive - TK Maxx rules!!!

OP posts:
princessmel · 25/08/2006 15:58

ellesmum · 25/08/2006 16:08
