Following on from the thread about the Daily Mails article on School Fairs / Fetes......

Do you have any famous parents in your Childs School and do you try to blag decent raffle prizes out of them.

At my dd's school we have a Charlton Ath. Footballer - wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

At the school ds used to attend we had ummmm, thingy-what's-his-name, you know, vaguely famous actor, played Patrick in Coupling. I don't know whether he gave decent raffle prizes, but he did loads of presenting and MCing at fuctions - anything that used a mic, basically!

I went to school with loads of diplomats kids, the neice of jeremy paxman and the son of the bbc correspondant for brussels. Oh and Duncan Bannatynes kids. Nobody uber famous though.

BettySpaghetti · 22/06/2006 19:37

No one at DD's school but Nigel Kennedy's son is at my god-daughters school

spacedonkey · 22/06/2006 19:38

Katemum · 22/06/2006 19:39

Bolton footballer's son at nursery.

southeastastra · 22/06/2006 19:40

the posh school round the corner has tons of them, shall i go and hang around their gates tomorrow with a sign saying: raffle off your famous parents to 'elp the poor mister?

Posey · 22/06/2006 19:45

Linda Robson is a mum at dd's school.
Joe Swash (plays Mickey Millar in Eastenders) is an uncle and came and judged a fancy dress competition with Martin Fowler.
Also a comedian who's name completely escapes me I'm afraid.

Mercy · 22/06/2006 19:45

Coronation Street star at dd's school. I know who he is but I don't know who he plays in Corrie as I haven't seen it for at least 10 years.

Certain parts of North London are stuffed to the gills with famous people (usually soap stars I think)

Posey · 22/06/2006 19:46

Oh and Dido and Martin Offiah are both ex pupils.

spacedonkey · 22/06/2006 19:46

Posey you must be in Islington then!

Naughtynoonoo · 22/06/2006 19:55

We have another Charlton player and I have heard that John Terry and Jo Cole used to live here, should have bagged one of them and I would have become a WAG!

In DS class one of the boys has a famous actor and actress dad and mum but I don't want to name them cos it will give away what school ds goes to iyswim.

It was very weird driving in the local town and seeing the dad walking accross the road and the public give him a double take as they walked past him cos we just know them as and *

aaronsmummy · 22/06/2006 20:00

I went to school with the daughter of Jack Duckworth in Cornonation Street. Never saw him at any fairs/fetes though.

threebob · 22/06/2006 20:00

A NZ cricketer uses our Plunket rooms for his family birthday parties and always donates way too much money for it.

waterfalls · 22/06/2006 20:01

Ah yes, that was me
