Famous Parents in your Childs School

Following on from the thread about the Daily Mails article on School Fairs / Fetes......

Do you have any famous parents in your Childs School and do you try to blag decent raffle prizes out of them.

At my dd's school we have a Charlton Ath. Footballer - wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

there are countless famous children at our kids schools but they are all the ilegitamate ones so no one will admit to them

Ooh spacedonkey .....I know that school. There were also Paul Whitehouse's kids, and Michael Rosen's, Kathy Burke's godson (she used to turn up to watch assemblies and all the Y6 children kept doing Waynetta Slob impressions, poor woman), and Gwyneth Strong's kids (Cassandra from Only Fools and Horses) and a few from Eastenders, but I'm going back a bit now.

it's got to be the same school gladbag, I didn't know Paul Whitehouse's kids went there, but my mum bumped into him at the local Sainsbo's so he definitely lives round those parts!

notafergalfan - i was at university (Liverpool) in the 80's with a cousin of fergal Sharkey. Her name was sarah and she did elelctrical engineering. She was v nice - could it, perhaps, be the same person?

Ex pupils from my secondary school were Selina Scott (is there a 'where are they now' sub-thread?) and Rod Liddle. And Bob Champion who won the Grand National. Not too bad for small town on Teeside.

Vic Reeves' kids were at my two's old school, he was very arsey generally and certainly never offered any good raffle stuff.

Vic Reeves's son was 'asked to leave' from the York Steiner school (so my friend told me - allegedly of course).

Notanotter - there were a lot of posh blokes who said "yah" a lot in the L'pool geography department who had very very rich fathers (maybe thats why I changed to English - fool, should've married one) one of whom owned an airline I think...doh. Can't recall any names.

Yes, will deffo look out for the next one, my dh works most evenings, so as long as there is enough notice, he will be able to take the night off, and thanks for your offer of a lift, I will take you up on that for the next one

when I was at junior school we had Carol Chell from Playschool's daughter, and Carol used to open our fetes. it was very exciting....

also my friend's mother played the mother in Metal Mickey

I mean we're talking real a-list here.....

at university Anthony Andrews's son was in my college. his friend married one of my friends.

erm - my friend whose mother was in metal mickey had Rula Lenska and Denis Waterman as godparents. When Rula was in I'm A Celebrity (or the other one, Big Brother, can't tell the difference) suddenly she popped up on the news being interviewed about her.

uh, a bloke I used to work with's girlfriend taught Jude n' Sadie's kids (he was apparently v good with turning up and playing the piano and stuff at assemblies...)
