Following on from the thread about the Daily Mails article on School Fairs / Fetes......

Do you have any famous parents in your Childs School and do you try to blag decent raffle prizes out of them.

At my dd's school we have a Charlton Ath. Footballer - wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

errrrrm...
my maths teacher was John Motson's aunt (topical at least!)

tamum · 23/06/2006 12:00

A famous author, but I have said so much on here about me that it would blow his/her privacy if I said who.

I went to university with Suzanne Charlton (oh yes), and I have met John Hegley, I'll have you all know

dh was in the same class as Matt Skelton (the now pro boxer, known as the Bedford Banger).

I see him almost everyday too as he works out at the leisure centre where I work. Me and dh are on first names terms with him dontcha know!

Adrian Lester used to go to the school where i teach at now... v. funny. he came in to talk to some children just after he was in Primary Colours and it was very very odd sitting in the staff room with hinm drinking a cup of tea with the thought in the back of my mind that here was a man who was at a hollywood premier (with john travolta etc!) a couple of weeks ago...

I don't know any famous parents at the school but there are loads round and about - mainly Corrie Stars and Man U footballers (so that doesn't give away my location at all then?!)

zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 13:03

gdg do you live in alderley edge?

slug · 23/06/2006 13:13

I (briefly) taught Joey Ramone's nephew. Does this count?

GDG · 23/06/2006 13:15

Zippi - I wish! No, but not far away.

KellyMacplus2 · 23/06/2006 13:15

Kate moss was two years below me at school, and Davina McCall's kids go to the posh school down the road from where I used to live.

Oh and I was on Blue Peter once, does that count?

I was in school with Charles Dale from The Lakes and Corrie - he was a few years above me though.

cece · 23/06/2006 13:24

used to teach in a media friendly area and quite a few famous parents. Billy Bragg ran the CD stall!

Seem to remember he moved to Dorset

GDG · 23/06/2006 13:29

Our PTA chair teaches Roy Keane's kids

I saw Sheree Murphy in Tesco the other day and walked past Shaun from Corrie in town. Oh and walked past Kevin Webster from Corrie in the village.

So, nothing to do with school then.

fullmoonfiend · 23/06/2006 13:55

marlon dingle.

meowmix · 23/06/2006 14:08

bit of a stretch of original post BUT Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd geezer) rehearses at the same hall my ds goes to toddler group at.

I was at school with the children of a very infamous missing person.

ScummyMummy · 23/06/2006 14:20

of sd and tamum for their John Hegley connections. He is practically the only thing apart from the Simpsons that appeals to every single member of our family. No famous parents at my kids' schools afaik.
