sh11-- how many agencies are you with at the moment?

tigeryuan · 12/12/2005 18:44

mythumbelinas - iposted son's photos to Kids London on Friday, and received letter from them today that they would like to represent him(very efficient), but they don;t want to see him at presetn. Just have to fill in 2 forms. Is that normal?
As you said, they work on sole agency and will take 25% commission off the earnings from other agencies!!

on one hand, i feel great that my son has been accepted by them. But, on the other hand, I also feel that I might have wasted my money with Bizzykidz which I joined recently.

Anyway, may be I just register with them, as they won;t charge anything at the moment!!

My advise to all mums, please don;t rush for your application. Send to all agencies you like , then wait for their reply before making any decision!!

totallyfloaty35 · 12/12/2005 19:06

MY DAUGHTER IS WITH KIDS LONDON,THEY DIDNT WANT TO SEE HER EITHER.THEY ALSO WILL NOT LET PARENTS VIEW THEIR MODEL WEB SITE,THIS I FOUND A LITTLE ODD,BUT ITS "ONLY FOR CLIENTS AS PARENTS TEND TO GIVE THE PASSWORD OUT"

perfumelady · 12/12/2005 19:24

tigeryuan well done with kids london, i know lots of people do get turned down by them. do you know how many children they have on there books compared with bizzy kidz? if it's a lot less then you may stand a better chance at getting work. my dd is with urban angels and they don't have lots of children on there books, she has had two jobs within the first two weeks of contract.

perfumelady · 12/12/2005 19:32

totallyfloaty35 have you been with kids london long and have you had any jobs yet? it's just everyone says that they are one of the top agencies but haven't heard anyone say they have had work from them or maybe i missed those posts, have i? how about bizzy kids has anyone been lucky enough to get a job from them yet? just curious

tigeryuan · 12/12/2005 20:17

thanks!
idon't know how many kids they've in their books, as just received their letter today.

TheFish · 12/12/2005 20:18

h god we are neary up to 1000 posts on thsi thread

tigeryuan · 12/12/2005 20:54

lets keep it up then......
totallyfloaty35 - how do you found kids london to work with then?
how long have you been with them?

yackertyyack · 12/12/2005 21:16

Hiya Tigeryuan,
Well we are with Kids london and I think they are great - they are always really lovely to deal with. However, when you sign the acceptance form for Kids London you are agreeing to give them sole representation and they say in the booklet thing that they cannot accept a child which is already represented by another agent!! They have a couple of hundred kids on their books and they are mainly photographic, so may be a problem for you if your boy is still not keen on getting changed!! We were on a photoshoot last week and my little one had to get changed 5 times!!!!!!!!
We have been with them 2 months and have so far had a job each month - our first job was after 2 weeks!!! SO personally for us I am really pleased with their service. I see that you were offered MOT - they do not request sole rep so you could be with them and also Bizzykidz?

totallyfloaty35 · 12/12/2005 21:27

HI ALL,MY DD JOINT KIDS LONDON ABOUT 4WKS AGO, NOT HAD ANY WORK SO FAR,THEY REPLY TO ANY QUERIES PROMPTLY AND SEEM OK IF A BIT BRUSQUE.I LIKED THE FACT THAT THEIR WERE NO UPFRONT COSTS.I WAS GOING TO GO BACK TO BUBBLEGUM AS WE HAD LOADS OF WORK WITH THEM,BUT THEY HAD MOVED OFFICE AND I WAS TOO LAZY TO TRACK DOWN THEIR NEW ONE AND POST PHOTOS, ALTHOUGH I HAVE TO SAY THERE SEEMS ALOT MORE WORK FOR THE UNDER FIVES.

tigeryuan · 12/12/2005 21:38

yackertyyack - i have been reading the junior magazines lately and found that most of the kids models were from Kids London and that really attracted me to this agency to-be-honest!
MOT wanted to see us, but my son has just recovered from a bad cold (for the whole 2 weeks), the journery to get there is really a problem at the moment!!
funny that you reminded me my son doesn't like to get change.. hahaaa. he allows me to put his hat on these days.. so. slightly improvement.. hahahaa
thanks for your advise..... may be i should give them a call to check out the sole rep. thing.. i hope that they won;t request my son to terminate the contract with Bizzykidz.....:O

tigeryuan · 13/12/2005 10:47

hi sh11 --- have you decided to join kids london or not yet?
i remember that you're also with Bizzykidz. am i right?

i'm with BK, and got offered from KL, so, would like to find out how you deal with it.. any advise pls.

totallyfloaty35 · 13/12/2005 11:28

tigeryuan, i would stay with BK and join MOT if i were in your shoes, MOT seems to do same sort of work as Kids L,but you dont have to sign a contract and you wont have wasted your BK money.Reading this site it seems all 3 agencies have a very good rep so you should be ok with whatever you decide.

tigeryuan · 13/12/2005 11:49

totallyfloaty35 - yes. i know what you mean. i just can;t make up my mind!
hey, i got the below address for BUBBLEGUM.
not sure which one is correct though...

110 Cricklewood Lane London NW2 2DP
T 020 8450 6151

Ardreith, Beaconsfield Road, Slough, SL2 3BP
Tel: (01753) 646348
Fax: (01753) 669255

mythumbelinas · 13/12/2005 13:06

Hi tigeryuan, i agree with totallyfloaty35 .. if u want to stay with BK then join MOT. I don't have much experience but I am okay with KL right now, but yes, dd1 hasn't had a job yet in the 2 months she's been with them. She did do their model book shoot and loved it.
Even if u were to stay with BK and to join KL, if u did a job for BK i doubt KL would find out .. but if they did they'd ask for commission.

sh11 · 13/12/2005 17:48

hi tigeryuan We are with bizzykids and now alphabet kidz, they are free for under 2's so even if nothing comes of it!... I have decided not to go with Rascals or Tuesdays child even though they are both very reputable.

I'd like to go with Urban angels if offered in January and Inspired kids, our interview is next week.

The main advice for everyone is do what u think is right and also if a particular agency is not suitable u can always choose another for next year providing they accept u.

sh11 · 13/12/2005 17:56

Bubblegum are in Slough, Berkshire, I have been in touch recently, they will go over the photos over christmas and let us know in January.

Tigeryuan is right about applying and waiting for the right agency to choose.

I would also say that if I knew all this then, I would have applied to the agencies and waited for all their replies before choosing the best one suited to us. Well with BK at least they dont ask for sole rep like others.

Was it KL that wont let parents see their kids on site, I think that is odd because u have no idea how many, and even if your kids are represented properly. Scallywags site says they are showing on site 1000 of their best kids (whats that all about)that means if your kids are not on the site they are at a disadvantage and you are still paying?!?

TheFish · 13/12/2005 18:04

ooh almost one thouyssand self cnetred posts!

tigeryuan · 13/12/2005 18:39

sh11 - good luck with your interview.
i think i'l go interview with MOT in Jan, and also see Urban angle if they invited us.

i like kids london, but they only do sole rep., which means i'll waste my mondy with BK.

good luck to all mums!!

yes. almost 1000 now. pls keep it up.. hoooray!

TheFish · 13/12/2005 18:40

perfumelady · 13/12/2005 18:54

tigeryuan i don't know if you realise but urban angels require sole rep also, you have to sign a contract.

mary may have you heard anything about the casting yet? ours was a no, so i'm routing for you now.

marymay · 13/12/2005 19:06
