asked earlier on this thread but will try again - anyone know of any agencies in the cardiff area. DD is 15mth. Ta

perfumelady · 21/11/2005 17:39

no problem hahahehe, i wasn't thinking of joining another agency anyway, i'm really happy with urban angels and i know my dd is lucky to have been given a contract so i wouldn't do any thing to jeperdize that. i just asked the question because sh11 wasn't sure what she could or couldn't do and i was curious.

elenorsmum sorry we didn't mean to ignore you if you go onto this websitewww.albamodel.info

Alba is now recognised nationally and worldwide as the UK?s only independent modelling advice service to the public.

if you click on 'a list' it gives you all the names and address of all the recognised agencies in the country(you do have to down load the list)

perfumelady · 21/11/2005 17:54

totallyfloaty35 earier on in this tread there was a bit mentioned about movie mites i think the posters name was moviemitesmum sorry that probably hasn't helped much.

MUM007 · 21/11/2005 19:23

PERFUMELADY Are you with Bizzykidz and Urban Angels? Does that work for you being with the two agencies. You probably have said but this thread getting too time consuming to read!

tinkerbellchelle · 21/11/2005 20:17

Strange thing has happened. We applied to urban angels and I thought they replied saying they had a similar baby but now looking thru my emails I dont think they replied when we first sent our pictures, However today I had the lady from urban angels ring saying that they want to see our little man in the new year and they will be in contact in january??
I mean we are V.V happy so far with BK so unsure as to wether or not to take up urban angels on going to see them. I mean I have heard they are very good for babies??
Mmm.... we'll have 2 see what happens in the new year.

Has anyone has any experience on urban angels? Sorry if it has been covered elsewhere but this thread is HUGE now to read thru.

Hope all is well with everyone xxx

lanismum · 21/11/2005 20:47

tinkerbellchelle- i posted earlier saying i had applied to urban angels, really just out of interest to see if my dd would be accepted, as she hasnt had any work so far with bizzykidz, they e-mailed me back in minutes, saying that they would see her in jan too, im happy with how bizzykidz seem to run, but was just wondering if my dd would be more likely to get work if she was with both, not sure what urban angels policy is on their kids being with another agency. anyway i might be worrying for nothing as they only said they wanna see her, not take her on, we will see

tinkerbellchelle · 21/11/2005 21:08

yeah see thats the same with me, they want to see us in january and like you said it may not turn into anything. Im mean Im very happy with BK but just out of interest would like to know more about urban angels? And like u said not sure what there policy would be about joining 2 agencies?
We'll have 2 keep each other posted. I mean I also see it as a good thing that he has interest from other agencies as it in a way makes me think we're not being conned or anything like that as I know many agencies dont even want to see people so the fact they want to meet LO is a good sign. We had also been accepted by rascals but didnt get on with the agency.
I think for now gonna just stick with bnizzykidz and see what happens? xxxx

Got a call from Jabberwocky today. They are having a "meet and greet and audition-y" sort of gathering on Saturday. They are mainly television/film and DS is more photographic so I am not sure if it would suit him. Unfortunately, we have to be in Wimbledon that day and the gathering is in Kent. Unlikely to happen for us this time around.

mykidsmum · 21/11/2005 21:31

Hi guys, my four children have all been with urban angels for around two years now. Considering we live outside of london and can't get to that many castings they have had quite alot of work. My dd is currently on the front of the boots christmas gift guide and my ds is in the george christmas catalogue. we have also had work with, next, persil, mens health magazine, thats life magazine, debenhams and a few more. Urban angels do not let you work with other agencies, this is common across the board except for Bizzykidz i would presume. They are a fab and very professional agency to work for with a wonderful director, i think they get something like forty enquiries a day for people wanting their chil;dren on their books so they are definately very popular. i think this is based on the fab repuation they have built up since starting in 2002, have yet to meet a mum of anangel who isn't happy, hth.

perfumelady · 21/11/2005 22:07

hi mum007, i have one dd that has just been taken on with urban angels and one dd who is registered with bizzy kidz but like yours she is more into the acting side she has just got an agent also that only takes on children with drama and theatrical training . so we may just take that route for her.

tinkerbellchelle and lanismum maybe you should just go to the urban angels shoot to see what you think, your only there for about 15 mins, they take loads of photos then contact you within a few days to let you know if they want to give you a contract, but they do require sole rep' but if they want your little one, maybe then you can make a choice if you like what you see but if not then you can stay where you are. they charge £40 for one years contract and you get two of the photos from the shoot sent in the post.hope that helps, good luck to you both, keep us posted

loopyredangel · 22/11/2005 00:20

Hi I posted here a few days ago regarding Eurokids! We are very new to the modelling world, and this one of the offers we have received. Can anyone recommend them? We have also been offered a contract from Models Direct but I get the impression from this forum they are not ideal!

tinkerbellchelle · 22/11/2005 09:26

Loopyredangel.... avoid models direct. They are a big con so it seems and it seems like they just take everyones money and do nothing with it.
I personally dont know anything about eurokids but there may be a mummy somewhere who does.

Yeah I think we are gonna just go to the urban angels shoot thingy and see what we think?
I mean even if we go with them there is no more guarantee than staying with bizzykidz.
Anyway they may not even want us yet..... we will have 2 wait and see xxx

sh11 · 22/11/2005 09:33

eurokids is excellent, look at their website and i have also read a lot about them.

sh11 · 22/11/2005 09:37

tigeryuan-contacted bizzy' yesterday they said as i paid last week, the site should be up by end of this week and the letter sould be on its way soon after.... cant wait!

hahahehe · 22/11/2005 09:39

sh11: Hows your descision making going??

perfumelady · 22/11/2005 10:09

Loopyredangel.... i def' agree with tinkerbellchelle give models direct a miss, are you in the north of england or nearer london? have you tried any other agencies?

tinkerbellchelle it's such a tough one isn't it. as i've said before i feel really lucky that we were given a contract with urban angels they had over two hundred children over 7 days at there photo shoot and less than half were given contracts, and we got a call for a job less than four days after she was set up. i have such a good vibe about this agency, i wouldn't risk losing her place by being with another agency.

my other dd has been with bizzykidz for a while now and i can't fault them they are very efficient they respond to your questions quickly, and my dd has done one assignment with them so i'm not bothered if she does't get anymore cause we more than covered the set up cost with that one job.

tigeryuan · 22/11/2005 10:41

moring all!
sh11 - i received an email from Bizzykidz regarding to the lisening letter & photo shoot. they actually sent it out on sunday afternoon, but it had gone into my junk email, so , didn't notice at all!!!
my son's pics are on the web now!! they invited us to the photo shoot in kent in few weeks times and have to call them to make an appt!!

sh11 · 22/11/2005 10:54

hahahehe: hi, got turned down by lidslondon today never mind.

One important point about bizzykids: apparently as bizzy' contract is literally for 17 years, and they dont mind u being with other agencies. That really limits for other agencies.

Otherwise u would think ok i'll go with urban for a yr and see what happens - then can always change to another, BUT if u want to go with urban' or any other and give up bizzy, u'r stuck when it comes to wanting to go with bizzy at any time in the future.

Maybe i'll just tell urban' about "other agency" and see if they want me to give it up.

The point someone made about both agents sending u 4 a casting, (if bizzy' r not bothered bout you joining others then u could always turn down their casting, go with urban' and urban' get the commission????

a bit of a ramble, I know

Enid · 22/11/2005 11:03

why do people do this to their kids?

the kids pretty much all hate it and its a totally boring day for the mums

I used to run castings and I never understood why anyone would want to put themselves and their child through it.

mykidsmum · 22/11/2005 11:10

Hi enid, my kids are old enought to tell me if they like it or not, and genuinely if they didn't want to do it i would stop it tomorrow. We live outside london so we always combine it with visits to family in london and trips which to be honest they wouldn't experience if it wasn't for the modelling. Also I am not in a financial position to save for my childrens future, all the money they earn goes into an account for uni (if they so chose) when they are older. My kids don't do it that often but hand on heart they do enjoy it and i don't see myself as 'doing anything to them'

hahahehe · 22/11/2005 11:21

sh11: sorry to hear you din't get into KidsLondon, you were quite keen on them weren't you? Your comments about turning a casting down from Bizzykidz is very valid-can't see why urban would have a problem if they were getting the commission......have you spoken to them to find out how they stand??

perfumelady · 22/11/2005 12:03

sh11 yeah sorry too about kidslondon, there loss hey, you still have some good names to choose from

mykidsmum i totally agree with your last comment.

lanismum · 22/11/2005 12:15

enid-, i put my dd forward for modelling because shes a very sociable baby, she hasnt dont any jobs yet, but she has had a photoshoot, which she loved, she seemed to love all the attention, and the camera, i definately would not force her to sit there screaming while somebody took pictures of her, and in any case, she wouldnt be used if she was upset and crying.

tigeryuan · 22/11/2005 14:11

enid- i put my son into modelling because i want him to be shown on those magazines if he got chosen, then one day he could look back! Not sure he would like it as hes far too young at the moment! i've just recently joined bizzy, and absolute new to the industry. i work full time and don't know how could cope with it. but, i could stop anytime if we don't like it. we never try and never know how it'll be!!
Sh11- sorry to hear that. I didn't put my son to the kidslondon as I can?t be bother to send them photos by post!! I was looking at the Junior magazine the other day, most of the kids model there were from the kidslondon, so, this agent must be good! So, I'm tempted too!!

tinkerbellchelle · 22/11/2005 14:23

enid- I think Im speakin on behalf of most mummies if our lo's didn't enjoy it we would stop staight away.
I think there are probably various reasons for all of us to have put our kids into modelling we did it because of how photographic our son is.
We're very happy with making the choice as Im sure many other mummies are
