What is the creepiest or scariest story you know? I don't care if its true or just an urban legend or story. I am in the mood to be creeped out plus I'm trying not to have to clean. I was driving home from work last night down some dark country lanes and couldn't get the stories about the stick/shadow men things out of my head. V scary!

Clara I stared at it, and couldn't process what I was seeing. There must be an explanation, just haven't worked out what it is yet.

When I was 5 my parents took over a pub tenancy in Manchester ..soon after we moved in I started wetting the bed and telling my mother that someone would come into my room at night, open window and sit on the end of my bed ....hence me peeing the bed rather than get up and go to the toilet. I don't remember this at all.

Years later in a different house both my sons who shared a room started wetting the bed ...they said that if they got up to pee in the night 'the woman' would point them back to bed

They both said that they knew that they were pissing in their beds but were too scared to go to the bathroom Confused

They can't remember this as adults either - weird!

Ooh I'm scared now ha will never sleep!

On Christmas eve a few years ago I was staying in my flat on my own. It was an old big house that had been converted into flats. I had just got into bed and was watching some tv when somebody whispered loudly in a gravelly voice "Ethel died of consumption". Well that was it lights on all night and not a wink of sleep. I went to my long shift on Christmas day utterly petrified and completely shattered!

You are so mean you lot. Why the hell did I google stick men? I saw a video on YouTube ages ago that looked like one but was spotted crawling very fast across the floor in Palestine. Petrifying. Patfenis story is terrifying. Scariest things that have happened to me have been at my mums house which has a really nasty atmosphere sometimes. I've had something thump my bed hard at night, flicking under my mattress, breathing in my ears and I remember whilst just dozing off had someone say a full sentence right by my ear which I could not remember as I came to. Lets all snuggle up tonight and shite ourselves together!

Yeah, it was from the last thread that I heard about stick men don't even like looking out of my window at night, just in case Blush

I only know that through researching my family tree and its the reason why my grandparents weren't allowed entry to Australia - the family had had TB within the last however many yrs so my grandparents were denied entry in the 40s.

In April last year I was watching a DVD of the X files with my healthy six month old guinea pig on my lap. The episode I was watching was Die Hand die verletzt, 'the hand that wounds' about a satanic coven of teachers in a school.

The episode opened with a German Satanic invocation to bring harm; I think it may be a famous satanic chant, not sure; however I scoffed and smiled at it and thought 'don't be daft there is no such thing'. At that precise moment my fit and healthy piggy suffered a stroke in my arms and began fitting.

I know it was just a coincidence and can be rationally explained...but at the same time I am freaked out by this.

itsnotjustaslap, I'm sure that must have freaked you out, big time, but it was merely a coincidence. I have watched every episode of the X Files with DP, and much to my disappointment, he has never become a liver-eating mutant, morphing alien who oozes green gick through the wound in the back of his neck, or Mulder. Unfortunately.

I LOVE a scare but just can't see why MN gets all scared about the stupid stick man thing. It's nonsense! And I'm very woo!

MrsMushroom, I love a good auld scare too, but the whole Slender Man thing makes me laugh... not scary...

MrsMushroom · 10/01/2013 02:46

No it's so far fetched! All that nonsense about it following someone and looking in through the letterbox! I can't remember who wrote that but it was a MNr on here to share her experience with the stupid thing.
