SECRET KIDDIES XMAS SWAP - PLEASE READ!!!

Ok, inspired by everyones generosity and an idea I saw I'm suggesting we do a secret kiddies christmas swap.

How it would work is this. If you want to sign up your child(ren) then you list them here. Their ages (don't have to give their names)sexes and their likes and dislikes.

Then you will email me your address. I will then give each person one address and the poster whose child they are swapping presents with. The present will have a value between £1 and £5, I say value cos then you don't have to buy anything new. But it must be in good enough condition to give as a present iykwim.

So then your children would get a surprise gift from a total stranger.

Ok this sounds stupid doesn't it?

Anyone game?

Glad you got it Phillipa - do you know who I am? There's a card between the 2 sets of wrapping paper than has a picture that should give you a clue

santaslittlehelper · 22/12/2003 10:51

hogmanay - there is also a letter and picture in with yours........
and ds's name somewhere...

popsycal · 22/12/2003 10:57

i have an idea....
but pie needs to agreefirst...
should we email who we think it is via contact another talker...????

MincePie · 22/12/2003 11:11

If is ok with you I would prefer it if people didn't go public with their guesses til after Xmas day. Some people havne't got theirs at all yet you see, also some won't open/look at theirs til the day. Then you can guess away and as I said I will put up the list on Sunday. Of course you guys can do what you like!!! I just think it would be nice to make sure everyone has theirs.

popsycal · 22/12/2003 11:12

nononono pie - you are right.......
just getting over excitred!!
thats why i wanted your opinion....its your 'baby' so to speak

Hogmanay · 22/12/2003 13:13

MincePie · 23/12/2003 18:04

So is there anyone left who hasn't got anything yet???

falalaphilippat · 24/12/2003 08:28

The level of excitement in the philippat household has reached such a peak, we let dd open her secret santa pressie this morning.

Instant success! a fantastic dump truck with driver and cones which dd has been driving all over the house making chugging noises. and the driver's been introduced to all her lego people already!

I can see it's going to be the most successful pressie of the year. Thank you thank you secret santa!

The drawing in the card makes me think it's from , christmas name *. I've got photos of the magic opening moment anyway to send when I know for sure.

popsycal · 24/12/2003 08:34

I hope he likes it as much as you do! They didn't come in a box so I had to improvise, I'm afraid .

Merry Christmas from your secret santa

WiShuaMerryXmas · 25/12/2003 11:39

HappyHollyHulababy · 25/12/2003 12:27

Thank you for DD's pressie - cuddly camel. DD is using at presently as her Baby Annabel's very own teddy I think I know who you are though, given the Spanish postmark. Thank you very much!

JollyJay · 25/12/2003 15:40

SamACon, thank you! The boys loved the gifts. Did you know that my eldest loves Spiderman? He's a huge fan! Your Hulked out kiddies are gorgeous, too.

And thanks again, pie, this was so much fun.

Just popped on to thank Charliecat for the fab presents- dd says she's going to keep the Barbie box forever, until she's a grown-up, and all of the things went down very well (so many!). They were both very impressed with the sweets, and ds's book looks great. Thanks so much, and hope you had a great Christmas.

And another vote of thanks to Pie

charliecat · 25/12/2003 21:08

Glad they liked their things Tamum! Hope you had a nice Christmas too! Can someone please confess for me! My little one loves the dolly bag and my eldest has spent the day telling us what the time is every 2-5 mins! This was fab Pie!

hoxtonturkey · 25/12/2003 21:50

thank you so much for ds' book - those magnets are going to see a lot of use. no idea who it was from though - please tell!

disorganisedsanta · 25/12/2003 21:56

Glad your dd likes the pressy falalalalaphillipa - hope she didn't cause too much havoc with it - and yes you know've guessed me although I'm afraid my drawing skills aren't up to much.

ninjinglebells · 25/12/2003 22:01

Thank you yetanothersanta - dd loved the block and hammer - it was a hit (boom boom). It has a great dual purpose - the obvious one (to chew, well she IS teething badly) and I was really impressed that she did immediately start hammering and I hadn't thought that she's know what to do. I'll try and send you a piccie when I get them sorted.

This was such a good idea thanks Pie for all the hard work

Brandysnap · 25/12/2003 22:48

Thank you so much to my santas for my kids presents. DS loved the book and dd 1 loved the tapestry set and dd 2 loved her colouring things and puzzle. I know for sure who sent ds's present and I'm pretty sure who sent the others. Can we say now?

I really hope those who got presents from me liked them, very nerve wracking buying for children you've never met.

Thanks Pie for organising this. A big christmas hug to you.

jammamia · 25/12/2003 23:35

Thanks to our santa too! DS loved his action man and spent most of xmas dinner diving under the table "on a mission" so thanks whoever you are!! xx

snowysam · 26/12/2003 14:39
