As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

thanks izzy, il ring them in the morning and let you know wot they say

perfumelady · 23/01/2006 21:05

me23 when we arrived one child was just leaving and another was having there photo taken and when we finished someone else arrived so it's kind of flowing but i guess if people arrive early then more than one would be there at once. the meeting took about 20 minutes.

you said you were worried about finding the place if you go into peterborough rd from the shops/town end, urban angels are right down the end of the road on the right hand side, they are within a large/tall building which is surrounded by a big metal security fence i had to ring the intercom on the out side of gate and then the reception let me in. if you are coming into peterborough road from the over water bridge end then urban angels are the first huge building on the left hand side.

we went by train and the station was with in walking distance.

me23 · 23/01/2006 21:19

izzirubi: thanks for the advice, I'll take a look at the websites of the agencies you suggested.

perfumelady: thankyou for the directions they're much appreciated.

I was in boots and spotted a 2-pack ot tops from their basics range £5 for the pair, it had a stitched on tag that is pink at the bottom. will that be ok?

tigeryuan · 23/01/2006 22:03

we got invited to the urban angles interview as well, but we couldn;t make it as we'll be on hols! good luck to you all!!

tinkerbellchelle · 23/01/2006 22:03

I wasnt told about what to wear to the invterview jenny didnt mentione it for urban angels... what should my baby boy be wearing?

me23 · 23/01/2006 22:11

I was told for dd to wear a white top and denim bottoms if possible.

maybe you could send her email to clarify whether your ds should wear something specific.

hth

yackertyyack · 23/01/2006 22:12

Wow there are lots of babies going to Urban Angels interview - good luck to you all, is it this saturday????? Does anyone know how many children they have on there books???

Gumbee · 23/01/2006 22:36

Have just had an e-mail from Alphabet Kidz and are keen to have my DD who is 2.5 on their books however they were concerned about me travelling into London at short notice as we live on the South Coast but I replied saying my mum lives in South London and I can tie it in with visiting her - only takes 1hr 15 mins by car anyway. Am currently with BK so not sure whether to write to them now to take her off their books or wait until I see Alphabet Kidz early next month.

yackertyyack · 23/01/2006 22:41

Hiya gumbee, Don't think Alphabetkidz require sole rep so you may be able to stay with both.....I think thats right!! You may want to ask alphabetkidz but at least you would have twice as much chance of work!!!

perfumelady · 23/01/2006 22:50

Gumbee we are on the south coast too, takes just over an hour on the train i don't find it to much of a problem, train is much quicker than driving.

sh11 · 24/01/2006 09:15

i wasn't told to put DS in denim jeans and white tshirt as tinkerbellechelle said also, maybe cos our sons are only 6 months??? it may be for the older ones... dont know what top do maybe will take some in case.

7777777 · 24/01/2006 10:55

just spoke to lisa who wants ds, she said about the travelling and short notice and being disappointed if theres hundreds of kids at auditions. i dont have to go for interview as hes under 2 and shes emailing info for me to send back

alliep30 · 24/01/2006 11:16

Hi 7777777. Is that right that Alphabet Kidz don't interview under2's? Is it free to join?

cyan · 24/01/2006 11:25

Looks like there are loads of mns going to the urban angels audition! anyone going in the afternoon.

allie when i was looking at agencies for ds, i tried alphabet and im sure that under 2's are free. We would't have had to go for an audition either. Have they asked you to go in? Hows dd today?

cyan · 24/01/2006 11:26

audition/interview/assessment you know what i mean!

alliep30 · 24/01/2006 11:29

I get ya honey! She's a bit better. Got up at 5.15 the little rat bag. Waiting to hear back from Lisa, but I've been on the phone all morning. She e-mailed and said they are interested so I'd like to go with them. If it's free it's got to be the one to go with first. Nothing to lose! How's your little man?

totallyfloaty35 · 24/01/2006 11:31

Help need some advice,MOTjunior just called, they want to see my DD's.However DD1 is with Urban Angels at mo and DD2is with Kids London, but MOThas always been my first choice,i sent pics to all 3 agents at same time in oct but MOT never responded,so i signed with other 2.But DH posted pics to MOT last wk and now they calling, have a feeling they didnt recieve the e-mail sent in oct.Should i join MOT instead? DD2 has not had casting or job yet as clients get sent the model book first and she joint to late to go in it.DD1 is with Urban A and she has had 2 castings but no jobs although i know Allysia been submitting her for work so cant complain and both agents are really nice.

cyan · 24/01/2006 11:37

Hiya Totallyfloaty,

It's a tough one isn't it! MOT are selective, I only know one person who is with them. I think someone posted on here about them last night saying that her kids have had an abundance of work with them so perhaps you should go for it. But it's a hard call as the 3 agencies are all highly recommended. What's your instinct telling you at the moment?

Allie- ds is a bit better but still a bit moany bless him. Going to take him to his swimming thing today might cheer him up a bit- only time will tell!

Go for Alphabet especially if they don't cost anything!

sh11 · 24/01/2006 13:00

totally floaty- hi I would recommend that u stay with the ones u are as they are the best agencies, I think like us all u want the girls to get work, I would go with any agency if we got work! so I feel by being a little bit patient I'm sure the girls will definately get work soon, and u can always go with mot next year.

tigeryuan · 24/01/2006 13:49

totallyfloaty35 - yes, i know, its a hard decision to make. I went with MOT and gave up Kids London, its because my ds is with BizzyKidz already. otherwise, i would go with Kids London.
may be you should wait for a bit longer and see... Good luck!

2ManyPimms · 24/01/2006 14:46

(Welcome back Manic! )

Good luck to all those with the Urban Angels interview this afternoon!!!!

Has anyone gone for the Norrie Carr interview? (I balked at the 20 pound fee for it as well as the cost of being listed with the agency.) What do they do?

alliep30 · 24/01/2006 15:05
