As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

marymay sorry i have only just seem your posting, so much going on, on this thread. no i haven't got my web password yet. i would imagine that our dd's are already on the sight, i would think with christmas, her wedding, sorting out the (feb) baby intake shoots and maybe she has a lot of clients that she is dealing with i would hope that all of the above is why she hasn't had time to deal with them. i might email her this afternoon.

Hi Cyan

We were with NC for a year and got only one audition. Didn't really like their attitude either (a bit down your nose for my liking really) Mine is 3 years old, so might be different if yours is a baby? But all I know is we did no work at all even though they are meant to be such a great agency?

Anyway, I got a call yesterday from my booker at bizzykids and I am soooooooo excited!!!! The other arf is away until Monday and I cant speak to him to tell him, so had to tell someone!! also got some questions if someone can help at all?

we have got our first audtion for a tv advert next week!!! And my little-un has been booked for another photoshoot for Tomy on at the end of Feb. The only problem is that I was so excited that i forgot to ask the agency about my licence (i suppose they would have said something if there was a problem wouldnt they?) but we only got our doctors letter and other bits this week so would we still be able to do the job if the license hasnt been done yet? or would the agency tell me if there was a problem...does anyone on here know anything about this sort of thing that can help put my mind at rest cos the agency isnt open until monday and i am going to worry myself sick before then

thanks

exclent news orlando, hope all goes well, come on here after the audition and let us know wot it was like, hope theres not hundreds of babies there!

yackertyyack · 28/01/2006 13:10

orlando, you won't need a license for the audition only if they get the job. And if the Tomy job is not till the end of feb the agency has quite a while to get it....depending on the council and how picky they are they can usually grant a license within a couple of days although they always say like at least a months notice!! If there was a problem I am sure your agency will let you know...anyway give them a call monday to make sure!
but anyway CONGRATULATIONS!!

marymay · 28/01/2006 13:38

hi perfumelady.dont think my dd is as a friend of a friend that worked in publishing(long story}.looked at the website last week and didnt see my dd on it .she said she didnt see any new faces as there is only about 20 girls in the 8 to 11 year group.but dont quote me on it as she may have got it wrong that why i am a little anxious to get the password to see for myself.

orlando73 · 28/01/2006 15:02

great, thanks for that. You've put my mind at rest ladies! I will give them a call on Monday first thing though just o be sure. I sent everything back (birth certificate, doctor letter, and everything) last week, so maybe i should check they actually received it then.

ill let you know how we go. They said there are only 10 going and 7 are from bizzykidz so that shuoldnt be too bad as long as they arent doing auditions everyday for a month or something!!

thanks for replying
x

alliep30 · 28/01/2006 17:50

Congrats Orlando!
Izzy, job sounds great, lots of freebies me thinks!!! My ds is gorgeous..olive skin, big brown eyes, the opposite of sylv... He will not have his picture taken, even if you pay him... he gets the right hump about it. he still has chubby little hands and hasn't got to that clumsy boy stage when their ears stick out and their teeth fall out, he's just a cutie still (age 5)

totallyfloaty35 · 28/01/2006 18:22

Perfumelady can you let me know what Alyssia says too as i not had password or photos yet either. Also other DD is with KL and they told me that kids in the book are always submitted first, which is why they think she not worked yet.
My best friends Ds is with Bizzy Kids, has been for 2 months and he has been offered 2 tv jobs so far,and she said Debi is lovely,so they must be doing ok for work even though they have plenty of kids on their books.

perfumelady · 28/01/2006 18:23

orlando73 that is great news, do you know what the advert is for? how great would that be seeing your little one on tv. good luck

perfumelady · 28/01/2006 18:34

totallyfloaty35 not a problem, were you told that photos would come by post? i think i was told that but i can't really remember, i emailed agency a week or so ago and asked about the photos and i got emailed back 3. maybe you should just drop a line and ask if they are comming by post or email because you haven't received them yet. they are fab photos.

cyan · 28/01/2006 18:46

Hi mums,

well done orlando! that's great news, fingers crossed.

Izzy- i read perfurme lady's post which I think is completely valid, its something that I thought about as they are still relatively new. They said to me that if they were applying for agencies they would apply to UA and Kids London as they think these 2 function the best (in their experience-please dont take this as gospel mums as it's just what one agency said!). At the moment im still interested in them, but swaying towards KL due to minimum costs and their reputation.
well done dds job!
As for my exams, I passed 3 and failed 1 nevermind only mocks so still have 3 weeks to revise!

cyan · 28/01/2006 18:47

allie hows you? have you got to pay the web fees for AK?

totallyfloaty35 · 28/01/2006 18:49

Perfumelady,i was told photo would be posted and it said in the letter that came with contract that password and photos would be sent out in December.Idid get 1 pic emailed to me in November, heard nothing since though.
After looking at all the confusion people are having with choosing an agency i've come to the conclusion that making a list of your top 5 agencies and applying to them one at a tme would be a lot easier, that way you dont have to worry whether you chose the right 1,your with the top choice that said yes.....

cyan · 28/01/2006 19:22

yackerty/totallyfloaty just wanted to ask you a couple of things about KL as I know you're with them. alot of people have been saying they keep their numbers down, is this true because as you can't see the kids on the website how do you actually know? is this word of mouth or have you spoken to the agency about this? I just want to know a bit more about them before i make a decision for ds.

i think so, it's on their terms and conditions, that's where i conjured it up from! i'm well. Had a great night out last night.. bit pooped today though. Sorry about you exam, but 3/4 is FANTASTIC1. I don't have any modelling related stuff to talk about, but, hey, that doesn't stop me sticking me ten pence worth in...

alliep30 · 28/01/2006 19:27

Iz/Cy i copied this of joining info..have i read it wrong???

Is there a Registration Fee?

Alphabet Kidz charges a ?one-off? registration fee of £100 for children over 2 years old to join the agency. There is no registration fee for babies; however we do charge a one off admin fee of £20 which will cover our costs in setting up and managing your baby?s profile). The registration fee covers all the necessary costs involved in setting up your child?s profile with the agency; including your interview with us, the costs of the photo shoot (studio/photographer), your website profile & presence, all administration to keep your child?s details and profile up to date, any promotional material used to promote your child and active marketing and representation of your child.

cyan · 28/01/2006 19:28

hiya izzy,

there's so much to take in isnt there!!!! One minute I want to sign ds with Kl and the next Im going for IK. So you know people who have applied and been turned down? I know it sounds horrid but sometimes that can be a good thing because it does give you some reassurance that they are being selective and not duping people into thinking they will get kids jobs.

I think youre right that the kids are all different-I think ds looks nothing like any of them, I might just email them and ask them a few more questions next week.
im studying Holistic Massage, just something to do to get some extra ££££ Want to do baby massage next.

cyan · 28/01/2006 19:30

Allie get that checked with agency, have you paid? Yeah not to worried about exams as expected to fail, oh well! You should pop down to Harrow some time and i'll give you a lovely relaxing massage!!!!! I need one myself!

marymay · 28/01/2006 19:40
