As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

7s it's v exciting! let us know what she says on monday!!!

mythumbelinas · 25/01/2006 18:30

7's, when AK call you to confirm, ask if there is anything you need to prepare for/consider, eg: clothes, will they provide or wear non logo. Otherwise, relax and arrive on time
Good luck! doing a mag shoot sounds fun .. my dd had a possible baby mag shoot, but didn't get it in the end .. so i have no great advice really

cyan · 25/01/2006 18:35

mythumbelinas you're with KL aren't you [just scrolled down to see!] what do you think of them have your kids had much work? How old are they? x

mythumbelinas · 25/01/2006 18:54

hi cyan, KL are good .. i am happy with them eventho i haven't been with them for that long (almost 4months) so it's all quite new and not much experience. Last yr had jobs but this yr been doing castings, no jobs yet.

Oh my god 7's that's fantastic! You made the right decision.. these things happen for a reason! He'll be fine i'm sure.. A different environment will cheer him up i'm sure!!!

perfumelady · 25/01/2006 19:23

7777777 my dd has done a magazine photo shoot. where abouts do you have to go for it? my dd really enjoyed her self she had her hair and make up done in front of a big mirror surrounded by lights (she thought she was a movie star) there was quite a lot of changing of clothes, which in our instance they supplied. the whole team were really nice and treated the children like stars. the best part for me was definatly seeing her in print. my advice would be don't be nervous they will make you feel so welcome, enjoy it!! i took a packed lunch and a drink for dd even though they did give us drinks.

i just wanted to ask do you think its worth goin to the Urban angels shoot before deciding to sign up with kids london or do you reckon we should just go for kids london and not bother with urban angels

7777777 · 25/01/2006 20:16

hi perfumelady, thanks for reply, hope when lisa rings monday she says its still on for ds!is it an all day thing then or just a morning or afternoon. do you think theyl be lots of other kiddies there for photos as well. sorry, loads questions!

yackertyyack · 25/01/2006 20:16

ceylonlou: Without sounding rude I don't think anyone can tell you which agency to choose.....its such a personal thing and I think you need to speak/see each agency to get a feel for what sort of rapport you get with each and then decide. I personally would go to Urban Angels interview and see how you feel - at least that way you give yourself a choice....most of the main agencies get approached for big jobs so your child will probably get work regardless of who they with if their face fits!! For example EMPIRE Catalogue saw kids from all agencies last week to choose the right face. Sorry don't really help much do I????!!!!

777777: We were on a mag photoshoot recently and my little one was modelling sleepsuits - my only advice would be to try and arrive on time and fed and watered if poss.....as the little girl after us was 15mins late and then her mum needed to feed her!!! - the crew were fine but you could see they were getting tetchy -
GOOD LUCK - Its a LOVELY feeling seeing them in print!!

yackertyyack · 25/01/2006 20:21

77777..... our last photo shoot only lasted 45mins but they are all different so I am sure Lisa will give you some indication of what will be involved on monday...you may even be out on location!!! On a catalogue photo shoot we did there was 2 children for each outfit so we had a 50/50 chance of getting used!!
ahhhh will keep my figers crossed you get confirmed on monday - bet you are glad you went through with this modelling lark now!!!!

7777777 · 25/01/2006 20:26

yea i am glad now yakertyyak!so does it doesnt mean you get your child in the mag if they have some to choose from them?

Emma1404 · 25/01/2006 20:33

Allie are you there?

alliep30 · 25/01/2006 20:37

i'm here! Have u had a look at the list em?

7777777 · 25/01/2006 20:40

coooeee, hiya allie, hope your friend has luck with the agencies

yackertyyack · 25/01/2006 20:40

77777: This is only going on my personal experience - but at the mag photoshoot we did they had 6 babys all in different outfits and said they would use which ever pics were best - luckily they were all used....my little man was used twice!!!! I think that because babies are quite tempremental they cover themselves!!

Emma1404 · 25/01/2006 20:46

Hi...yer ive looked at the list and have written down a list to eventually try once a get a few good pics of her without maul marks down her face from your little one!!! Hows work?

alliep30 · 25/01/2006 20:47

7's i'm so excited for u! Em will do fine i'm sure, apart from the fact that my daughter tried to gauge her baby's eye out earlier! sorry love! Did Lisa call u up? Has she already put photos on their books.. Have u got a dr's note yet?

Emma1404 · 25/01/2006 20:55

I will def give them all a go. Just wanna get the picture right coz i suppose it all rests on the ones you send off. Its impossible to do it on my own....i dressed her up earlier and she looked gorgeous but she wasnt playing ball and just when i thought i was gonna get a lovely one she did her gurning face or looked away at the last minute.....god dam babies!!! Shes having a little moan as we speak actually.....more calpol needed and bucket fulls of bonjela.....back soon!!

alliep30 · 25/01/2006 21:01

Oh bless! Get the jaffa cakes out, that perked her up earlier, or take her out to the horses! Read all the info on here though as it's all from experience..
