As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

Hi All...Im a friend of AllieP30. I have a little girl of 9 months, who is being a right misery bum today, and am also interested in modeling for her. I contacted Childsplay and they wanted to see her, but wasa bit dubious about the costs....especially when some dont charge even a third of it. Can anyone recommend a handful to try. Thanks Em

7777777 · 25/01/2006 14:55

hi emma, at the beginning of this thread is a long list of agencies, hope that helpful

Emma1404 · 25/01/2006 15:17

Hi 7777777. Cheers for that. Ive read somewhere that some agencies only like pictures that you've taken yourself and not professional ones...is this true? Em x

Hi everyone, what a busy day again there are loads of postings! Glad you like the pics of ds they make me laugh, the horrible hands you can see are mine!
Can't get over how many people are going to the Angels shoot, how often do they do shoots? maybe they are looking to take on a few fingers crossed for everyone going!
Pimms- have you decided what you are going to do yetabout NC?
Hopefully will bump into some MNs, I asked UA if ds doesn't get offered a contract can we still have a copy of the pics, she said she we could for a small fee. Just for anyone interested, but hopefully all the MNs babies should get taken on!

2ManyPimms · 25/01/2006 16:51

Cyan - Yup. I rang them today about scheduling an assessment but they aren't booking any until February.

I look at it this way, 20 quid for an excuse to go into London, have a chat with someone and then all go out for a family meal. Could be worse!

cyan · 25/01/2006 17:31

izzy- not sure i've just read through my contract with NC and they need one months notice. what shall i do? i fell completely stuck now as if we get offered contract then have to wait a month and dont want to mess either of them around very unsure what to do

Hi Pimms,

That's a positive way of looking at it. Sometimes the agencies take a while before you actually get to meet them. I sent ds' picture in July and they got back to me in 2 days but then we didn't go for the assessment until September as the lady who does them was away! We then waited 6 weeks for the photoshoot, 3 months in total until ds was properly being circulated! Don't let this put you off though, as it was during the summer when there was probably lots going on etc. It's funny how all the agencies work differently, some don't even want to see you and others it's the whole shebang!

Whereabouts are you based?

Holborn Studios where they are based has a lovely little cafe attached to it. When we went there were a load of FHM models wandering around in skimpy clothes! I felt like a proper old frump - oh well! MY dp was gutted that he didn't come with us!

sarahmjz · 25/01/2006 17:37

Hi my DS has been offered an interview with MOT. Is anyones child with this agency or does anyone know about them? I've heard they are quite selective.
Thanks!
